What else exactly are you going to use Gil for? So far it's the most worthless thing in the game, with the adjustments to Dark Matter from Grand Comapnies, I don't think I'll ever really have to spend Gil again...

The whole damn point of having a bidding system was so we could bid against each other for plots. At these prices no one can even afford the damn starting prices yet alone do a bidding war.
The prices need to be dropped dead low, with all the outbidding we will be doing the price will end high anyway!

Whoever decided these prices, kick him off the development team!

no seriously guys its only like 130+ mil on non legacy server, did any of you actually look at the prices? hell its even less if you go for a lower class house

to be honest people selling titan runs should be banned plain and simple they are tampering with economy and making it so people do not run the dungeons right. There were even videos all over youtube where the people selling runs would turn around and deliberately sabotage runs so people would get so pissed off they would give up and pay.

In my server group, the highest price is 100,000,000. That might sound like a lot of money, but look at it like this:

Small plot: 8.0m gil (1st rank), that's for small FC's. If you are 8 players, that's 1m gil from each player. Is that really unreasonable ? I mean, I have no money at all basically, but that's because there have been no reason to get money. Now there are a reason.

8 members in a FC is very little too. My FC has 30 members, and that's considered a small FC. If you split it up between us, it's like 260k gil per player for the 1st rank one.

The medium plot and large plot is not meant to be available to smaller FC's right now. Is that really something bad ? For bigger FC's, it will be the same amount of gil per player as for smaller plots.


The problem is for the server groups with higher prices. There might be more money circulating in those servers, but there are probably lots of FC's that doesn't have more money than FC's on my server.

But honestly with all the typos in the letter, i would laugh if someone caused all this chaos by putting an extra 0 in all of them

never mind the expensive plot. out FC has been saving since the we heard about housing and can't even afford the smallest house on the crappiest plot. these prices are absurd O_o

You play it your way, buddy, I'll play it mine. I expect I'd have spent 25% of my time in the housing. I spend 10% of my active time in my inn at the moment, chatting with my friends. About 40% of it is crafting, I can do a significant amount of that within the FC housing. And that's not to mention the fishing you can do in FC Housing, which I do indeed look forward to. But most of all? A place me and my friends can call our home and go to when we're not doing other things. And yes, we used to do this often in 1.x when people had to have "gathering areas" (because no Duty Finder), so I don't see why we can't spend a lot of time hanging around and chatting in ARR, too. :)

Thank you SE, Yoshi and the dev team not one of them seen this as too high amount has confirmed for me that next time my 120 day re-sub comes around i think I'll just let it roll of the the delete box like all the usual daily spam.

Small social FC full of friends managed to save and scrimp 5mil, with player donations, i guess we'll just busk in the streets of Uldah, Limsa & Grid.....


I know its a bit of a knee jerk reaction but for something i already don't play that much this is just making it easier to cut the cord....

Honestly, if that's true, then you're just not very good at the basics of the basics of MMOs.

Regardless of what people say about the large houses, the small houses (except the 40-50m ones) are very affordable, by FCs of practically any size.

Fifth-class Plot: 4,000,000<-- this is an option
First class plot: 125,000,000<-- and this is not that much so all the non legacy players can be quiet, the legacy players have a right to moan cause that is too damn high but everyone else shut up.

having no house is also an option considering you don't need it

My FC is a large community but we are are not super wealthy by any means! We have been working for 2 months for donations and have not enough to even afford a small plot on our server in the gutter...

You said Auction, this is not a reverse auction. In an auction the price goes up, not down. At least with an regular auction would be based on what an individual FC can afford an not because we have RMT problems. Regardless of the decay, these amounts are still only benefiting the wealthiest FC's and put those others out of the running for quite some time.

We will continue to be farming and building up our banks in order to buy the property we desire and we hope that because of the time and effort it takes, that we may be able. But lets see how easy that will be now that food effects stay up after death... Food was the only sustaining money maker in our economy and now your taking that away too. So much to look forward too...

Thanks, I'll make sure to inform everyone in my FC that we are terrible at the game and should quit because we can't afford the 20 million gil smallest size house on day 1. I swear to god some of you people would defend any stupid decision made. I guess the ideal attitude for MMOs nowadays is to just bow down and worship every bad thing tossed your way, even when it's a flaming bag of feces. Otherwise you aren't playing the game right!

Well I'm sorry for saying the truth. If you can't afford it then yeah you're terrible at making gil.

4 people playing the game reasonably, say 20 hours a week, can easily make 20 million in 3-4 weeks. And no I do not mean farming one thing day-in day-out. If you're playing hardcore, one person can make 20 mil in less than a week.

"You aren't playing the game right?" What a stupid argument (not surprised). You want to complain that you can't get housing if you have no idea how to earn gil? Then why not complain that you can't get allagan if you don't know how to clear coil? Or how you can't earn PvP gear if you can't PvP. zzz

Believe it or not, some of us Legacy players didn't exploit the hell out of 1.0 and make max gil, and now I understand that SE is telling me I played wrong and I should have abused exploits to the maximum. My bad, now if only I had known I could have made 999 mil off those dawn drops or whatever it was like other players did. And if you created a new player on a legacy server, sorry, but you get to enjoy looking at those houses from out in the alleyways you get to sleep in at least!

This is nothing but a gil sink taken to the extreme, and I don't know about your economy but mine has morons that sell things for cheaper than they NPC for on the markets constantly and will undercut people by more than half the price, tanking most means of making gil outside of one and two star recipes.

And those same people wonder why they have a nearly dead game that is forced to transition to ftp to keep a float. Guess what white knights. you won! the people you told to eat -insert companies name here - crap and like it like its the best thing ever leave. Seen this happen time and time again. They are left wondering where are the people, why are they not liking the best game eva. You have to have some compromise and at least listen to the sub base or they will LEAVE.

prices on legacy servers are almost like a big Pointy arrow that says "hey look, our FC buys Gil"

I admit I have been a huge supporter of SE and the direction they have taken a realm reborn ever since alpha, perhaps I have been borderline white knight. I am totaly disheartened with the housing prices and it contradicts all previous statements from YoshiP about pricing. Right, you win this debate. I'm terrible, I don't play right because I help people and don't charge for every time I help carry people through titan. And those people in my FC who aren't even level 50 yet because they have busy lives are terrible too. It isn't about not being able to afford the house, it's about your outrageous claim that the only way to be good at an MMO is to play the way YOU do. Thankfully there is only one of you in the world. And unfortunately, there is one of you in the world.

Sorry, but that's just bad donations.... I'm not saying everyone should give millions of gil, but if you have a goal (buying a house), then you would get enough money to buy the small plot in no time. If you're on a legacy server, then that's another thing, but if your not, you can't complain.

The small plot (5th rank) costs 4-8 million on non-legacy servers. I don't know how many you are in your FC, but you said it was a big one... Lets say 80 players. That's 50,000-100,000 gil per player... -_- Do you still not see how easy it would be to get that money ? Even a very small FC could afford this if they just started to donate some bigger sums...

I'm certainly not rich in this game (I'm pretty poor actually), but I could still pretty easily get money for some donation to my small 30 man FC....

Boy, the RMT business is gonna be happy about the sudden need for loads of gil. Not sure I'd be wanting to see that.

Because charging for titan is the only way to make gil in this game right? I mean, damn if only you could do those solo titan carries, you too can make 20m gil in less than a week, like I said.

Although we've already established you don't know how to make gil, so again not surprised that's what you would think.

But since you can't argue against me on any point relevant to gameplay, it's only natural you would resort to attacking character.
