No, I would not pay for this.
(I would pay $1 for more retainers, however).

No, just because I hope SE doesn't get the wrong idea and starts charging us tomorrow because I wouldn't...there is nothing to pay for yet.
Not a chance in hell, ever week the game feels more and more bland, we desperately need content and its about time Yoshi-p started giving us info and not letters which lead to more questions.
Probably not. Runescape is better than this, and thats pretty bad.
Would I pay? Depends on if this stipulation came with promises of a faster dev cycle overall. Sense it never would...No I would not pay for this game as of yet.
Eventually it will either be up to par, or drop of the market. I'm hoping for the later so we can enjoy the game more than we allready are. I enjoy the game, just not enough to pay for it yet.
No!!!!!!!!
to me this idea is like going and buying a car that is just a frame. it has no wheels/transmission/engine/seats or any windows, but they say it will get fixed eventually. they give you no timeline on when they will fix the car nor even when they will put tires on it, but ask you to pay full price for it. sure you can go and sit in the seat, but you cannot do anything else with it.
How is A no loss? Have you not read this thread? Most people posting will not pay, thus if you ask for money they will leave and bam you have lost yourself a significant playerbase and why exactly will they come back? They will just ignore the time spend in other games they have gone to?
For me, I'm sticking around until TERA EU release, then i will leave and see how it is in the future but i'll most likely never get stuck into XIV again unless TERA does something drastically bad that makes me dislike the game. But im not going to put all my time into TERA just to leave it, and others will be the same on any other game. They will have moved on.
If SE said "Okay we're going to start charging in June" I would not pay, and I'd check it out in a few years to see how it got on, but i doubt even then it'd be up to par on what current games are doing.
XIV is now like ps3, it will always be behind, it will always have the lower side of things and even though it might hit a nice peak, it'll come crashing down by some stupid event (xi = abyssea, ps3 = psn hack) which will reduce the numbers by great.
I would not pay for this if asked to. I would have paid back in October if they needed it, to support the overhauling of the game, but it's either got to shape up or someone has to put it out of its misery. No one should pay for this until they would gladly pay. If they can't take it from what it is now, to a game everyone would be happy to pay 14 bucks a month for without charging, just put it out of its misery.
This is supposed to be a Final Fantasy, a game that is by default expected to be better than 90% of its competition. It's not even an average MMO yet. Saddest part is that even if the battle engine, stat overhaul, job system, materia and dungeons are all back to back to back to back to back smash successes...
It's an average MMO at that point. A safe, 7/10. I would reluctantly start paying if all of those features come off successfully (they probably won't), but if the game didn't start improving to 8 and 9/10 quality...I'd stop paying after my 3 months of crysta ran out.
Game's a 5/10, and honestly I'm not even going to pay for a 7/10 game. That's not a Final Fantasy MMO. The level at which they are performing, and the level at which I expect a Final Fantasy MMO to be at...are probably two degrees separated right now. But that's better than three degrees of separation that it used to be at.
They have a ton of work left to do. More work than they've done thus far. They aren't half way to getting most people to pay for this. Yes, that is discouraging for everyone involved. Devs and players don't want to hear that, but it's the truth.
Not even half way there yet.
No I would not.
