"But X gear is better in this really contrived specific condition that has never happened to anyone ever!"
Generally, there's a reason most people use certain pieces of gear, and I understand that it's not always simple to get the optimal pieces. I'd take along another player who was willing to learn who actually had worse gear, just because I know he wouldn't be so bullheaded. There's a time and place for showing how unique you are, and endgame content is not it.
No doubt you'll come back with another artificial scenario where you're proven to be correct.
TLDR: Cut the shit.

I wouldn't expect a training exercise to be nearly as hard as, say, "The Raven, Nevermore". Knowing how to gear yourself is part of skill.
There is difference between skilled players with good gears but wearing AF gears to proof to ppl and players that only wear full AF gears and claims they are skilled. -
