What I did out of respect for other players when I did the acheives was stay out of the party, let the party tag the mobs, then 1 shot them. Worked out for all. They get the xp and all can finish the behest quickly.

So let me get this straight... purposely overleveling enemies with absolutely no intention of finishing it, forcing everyone to get no reward at all is "ok?"
People really are idiots on these forums. It's annoying for an overleveled player to spam behests, keeping the lower-leveled players from actively participating or getting many rewards, but at least those high-level players FINISH the behest. Purposely not finishing for the sake of trolling the lower-levels is wrong, and the fact so many people here are ok with this pretty much speaks volumes about how horrible the players are as actual, individual human beings.
Someone earlier said it best: The need for an exp reward for a player in the level-range of that camp's behest is far more important than a level 50 player wasting his time for a reward that is worthless, useless, and no one else cares about. Achievements, by and large, have no value and only serve as a reward that only the player cares about... for 5 seconds and then moves on.
EXP > Achievements. Always.
Which has nothing to do with what the op accused the lv 50 of. Believe it or not, one can be level 50, get the achievement and still not be an ass towards the lower levels in the behest. I know it must shock all you advocates for solipsism, but it is possible for this situation to be a win-win one.Quote:
Well, it's SE who added those achievements in the first place. If you are a completionist you'll want to do them regardless of the level.
That doesn't seem accurate at all. Whether YOU personally like achievements or not is inconsequential, they are part of the game, they give good rewards, and many people want them. The way I see it, the Lv. 50 should get precedence because that behest is the ONLY way for him to get behest achievements, but those other people have tons of other options if they want exp.
But I digress, neither parties in this situation were really acting ideally.
Aside from that, no one is bothering to remember the scenario given by the OP.
The only thing the Lv.50 did that can objectively be considered harassment anyways is to not kill the boss mobs as he had already killed everything else and the boss mobs were part of his objective anyways. He was well within his right to kill everything in the Behest, no different than killing low-level mobs for any myriad of reasons.
You miss the point entirely. The 50 was making it a hard experience on the OP, killing all the easy mobs to leave the NM up at the end. How does that seem fair? Are you really defending what might not be griefing, but is instead a 50 that's a gigantic twit? Really?
Kagato pretty much summed up my thoughts. If the 50 wants his achievements so badly, he should hop on a lower level DoM or DoW class (which lots of people still have) and exp with the others to get his behests done. Just because he's 50 and working towards a goal that's only partially tangible, especially when the other player is trying to level up, doesn't mean he should have free reign over public content. That's not how it works. There should be either cooperation between both parties, or the 50 should gtfo.
Certainly, both parties have the right to be there. This is unmistakable. But the lower levels take priority over the 50 and his acheeves.
I'm not sure why people would:
A. do behest for exp in the first place when there are leves and chain camps out there that are probably more time efficient and less of a hassle or
B: actually care enough about behest achievements to go back to them on a 50 and burn them at a rate of 1/half hour. It sounds super boring.
