Either way we get "one more unlocked outfit"; it might as well be the one that makes thematic sense right now.
The rewards for the quest being genderlocked is extremely embarrassing for FFXIV in context of a story-focused game and the entire quest line contradicting the message the rewards are saying.
"Dress however you want...but only in the ways we want you to."

Honestly, that sounds exactly like something they would do. I was not surprised in the least. SE is really floundering lately. If they aren't careful, all these little things will add up to a big problem for them. And Blizzard has finally stepped up their game with WoW, so...they need to tread lightly.
The only thing embarrassing is these takes when it's clear that a change is on the way. You already won your fight, yet you keep acting like they haven't done anything in your favor. I was pleasantly surprised to even see the story put in there. Could they make it any clearer?
My issue with it is that instead of just fitting everything WHILE they are putting the event together, they just...kick the can down the road, when they could have just gotten it over with already. This happens a lot, and not just with glamours. I get that they don't always have the time and resources for things, but it is odd to me to genderlock 2 outfits only to unlock them later, when they could have been designed to fit both from the start. They are making more work for themselves for no reason. I don't doubt that a change is on the way. I just don't think a change would have been needed at all if they had just done it from the get-go. I don't even like these outfits, but I can see the flaw in their design methods. This isn't some small indie developer, though they certainly make it look like they are sometimes.
I mean it looks like some of it was on its way to being done but they didn't finish in time, no? I figure it's been all hands on deck with FF16 for CBU3 for the past several months.
Is it kinda lame? Sure. But it just isn't that big a deal as you guys are intent on making it IMO.
ahahahhahahaha what the heck
is this real, are all highlanders seriously affected by this?
someone made a cosmetic upscale mod for this outfit and wrote in the description that "it works for highlanders" and I was genuinely confused but now I understand, I get it now
jesus christ. this just furthers my belief that they must've tested the new outfit on lalafells and maybe catgirls and then just said "Whatever" for everyone else.
edit: Oh is that the dress? Alright that actually makes sense if it looks like shit, since they probably just didn't expect people to use it anyway since it's not available. NEVERMIND.
