I understand the notion of just wanting to adapt to changes as they will constantly happen. I bet you 10 years from now Sam will play completely different. Same for all other classes.
To me Kaiten is less of a removal than Nocturnal Sect (my main and favorite) for Ast but then folks will go "oh that sect nobody used right".

The sect nobody used, as opposed to the skill that was used 4-5 times per minute. Yes, apt comparison.

People are welcome to like the changes. They're welcome to offer their opinion, or even provide arguments for why the job is better now. What we tend not to welcome is what we tend to get; people who insult or disparage those who don't like the changes, in threads about not liking the changes.

Reapers are probably gonna get the nerfbat in the next xpac or two. I can see it happening. I primarily play Reaper now and the damage you can put out casually is ridiculous. I'm still surprised they didn't do anything other then nerf Arcane Crest which no one really cares about in terms of DPS.

What would shock me is if they decide to buff reaper and remove the 2 skills that inflict Death's Design. I pay more attention to that timer then anything else.

Every thread I've seen has been screaming about how unfair and how hard done to SAM is because of this one change.

Like I'm sure DRK would love half the stuff they lost

I'm sure WHM would love Stoneskin back

AST would love two charges of Redraw, old Sleeve draw, 5 card Divination and their flavourful cards back.

SMN actually lost part of their identity with DoTs going away, something of a far more impactful change to their playstyle and they would love that back too.

I'm sure SCH would love to have old Selene back

Can you blame me for thinking it's a problem with the SAM purist playerbase when nobody else whom in some cases lost far more than you didn't play up half this badly and in some cases had far more reason to?

Have you tried looking in the healer or tank subforum?

There's a prominent SMN thread that's perennially on the first page here.

We also just lost our skill less than a month ago, and the developers explicitly asked for feedback. That may explain why you're seeing a lot of SAM threads. I bet if you traveled back in time to when WHM lost Stoneskin, you'd see a lot more WHM threads than SAM threads. And if you don't, that's their problem and not ours. It's not a bad thing to provide feedback.

You haven't visited these forums much if you don't think there hasn't been other complaints. DRK, AST and SMN all have dedicated threads, with hundreds of replies, all asking for their classes to stop getting massacred. People have accepted changes generally, but there's a growing number of people tired of homogenization and lowering the skill ceiling.

Enjoy your ratio though.

WHM has every right to feel the way they do given they have no utility, yet they aren't quitting/uninstalling

DRK forever hate that they lost all their skill ceiling, yet they haven't quit/uninstalled

SMNs continue to fight for their DoTs back, not quitting/uninstalling

Oh and I was there when Stoneskin went away, it sucked but we didn't lose sleep over it, yes I was a WHM back then.

And it's *not* providing feedback telling people you're going to Quit/Uninstall if they don't revert a change.

That is a demand with a threat and that's the kind of thing the Devs will outright ignore.

Give them feedback they can get their teeth into, how much has the change affected SAMs playstyle? Is it just numbers or the entire flow? Can you provide hard metric evidence?

Oh and "SAM wasn't in the world first team" isn't a metric, neither was RPR because those jobs are not suited to short windows where burst is king, they're suited to longer windows of consistent damage so Ultimate is not somewhere they're comfortable, why we saw a lot of MNK/NIN MNK/DRG NIN/DRG, because they are good in those short windows. BLM hasn't performed well in the Ultimate either for much the same reason.

I can get behind good feedback, I can support it and will.

I won't support entire threads of nothing but "SAM sux now, I uninstall or else and anyone that finds this annoying is wrong and bad"

Personally, I didn't like the old Summoner at all. I played it to level it, and that was that. The new version is simple, but I like it better. But other people don't, and I find no reason to go and annoy them with my opinion, since it matters to them. Though I will say, I do not see the flourish of flinging out a dot. I pretty much hate dots on all classes - they're just annoying maintenance. But if someone wants to petition to bring them back, have at it.

Also, why would anyone want Stoneskin back? I see WHMs wanting reasonable things, like a bit more for damage. I'd like 3 glares to lead to a more interesting pop, personally. As for the SCH, all I'd want is a less ditsy looking faerie...

I'm getting the sense you're not paying much attention - you just sound mad that people want Kaiten back. You don't even seem to understand WHY. It's not 'unfair,' and it's not 'hard done.' But - ugh - why bother? Yes, we're all a strangely peculiar part of the playerbase (at least, that part of our collective psyche that plays Samurai - I figure mine is balanced by my healers & mages so my psychological deformity is, at worst, mixed)

So this is all I have left, because the tea is wearing off... *They asked for feedback about this particular change.* People care about it, so they're posting. Some care enough to unsub. If you don't like it, oh well.
