Your talking to a guy who slowly lost loyalty to WoW and multiple other MMO for a similar issue that I see Square Enix going down the same path. Sacrificing RPG elements in favor of convenience is a good way to strip the unique identity of your MMO and make people just move on.

Let me make this clear. I hate and despise the laziness of the developers that have decided to abandon job quest in favor of these stripped job quest that you maybe got away with in Shadownbringers because it was 7 years worth of story telling building up and it was a good way to get the point across.

My issue we are back in Eorzea now and I walk passed my Paladin trainer on a daily basis and just like WoW with class trainers they no longer offer anything to me then a sad reminder of what I used to have in my mmoRPG.

The reason it is easier to bring up bunny hats would be because of the 1,000+ page of that stayed on these forums since Shadowbringers released in 2019 vs them gutting job identity and getting ride of job quest.

Honestly, I bounce between FFXIV and Guildwars 2.

Everytime I come back from a break to FFXIV, I feel like I can hit the ground running. It took me minutes to be ready to go for Bozja when it first launched- they even gave me a free weapon.

Everytime I come back to GW2, I feel way over my head. The meta has completely changed, I have to re-learn rotation/builds; I have to re "get-gud", and more-over I often have to do all kinds of homework figuring out what equipment I need to be able to use the current meta. On top of all that, I usually have to play catch up to get some kind of skill-set (called masteries) to be relevant/get through the content. I love the game, but that first week getting back into it, I get stomped by trash mobs as I'm figuring out the new build. (Disclaimer: I do not have the highest tier of gear, which I'm sure would make a huge difference, but I just don’t have enough time to merit getting it, especially when I can clear the core game with 2nd tier gear)

I love Zepla's content. We both have a long history with WoW so I relate to so much of what she says. Her videos are really informative too. Also her reaction to male viera was gold :D

I just wish I knew about a EU content creator so I can watch their streams live.

No, I don't misunderstand the issue at hand. I very well know SE has been quiet about the hairstyles. And it's because of your very statement of "It's just clear that viera hair is not on the top of their list of priorities". Just like SE was kind of in the dark with adding male viera. It will come. And they necessarily don't really have to say much about it because it's only hairstyles. Not something that's important like actual content so again "Not on top of their priority list".

I would rather hear updates on actual content in the game than hairstyles. Regardless of the matter being in the dark on something that's purely cosmetic, it Isn't an excuse for some people to act like a fool over some hairstyles.

100% this is actually the part that is really disheartening to me. It is an mmorpg and stripping this very significant rpg part away from the game is baffling. The only time I get really frustrated with the devs is when they take things away that have been in the game before. Aka job quests, implementing one gender of the new races even though they've said to never do this again after the initial miqote backlash. Not to mention the races being absolutely unfinished (especially hrothgar) THAT kind of development is worrying to me.

SE putting out a tweet that says "viera we haven't forgotten that we said you would get new hair" would not negatively affect updates about other things in the game. It's not time consuming to make a tweet lol. Nor would saying that one line in a live letter affect the ability to say anything else.

Anyway we're derailing the thread with this conversation so I'm going to end my chatter about ShB race hairstyles here.

Since this thread is talking about certain WoW creators I'd figure I give my two cents on two certain individuals. Bellular and Asmongold. Their both idiots. Now I mean I don't hate them as a person, just the stuff they do.

If anyone has followed their videos the past month(s) they complain about Blizzard(WoW) and the current state it's in. They express their disappointment about various issues, etc. But,....they still play/spend money on WoW. It's like, why do you keep playing a game that you are obviously not happy playing and constantly making videos on but still keep going back.

WoW is dead. It was dead the moment Blizzard decided to prey on people who have played the game for a long time and release classic WoW for them to have that "Nostalgic" feeling again. At least Bellular is looking to give FFXIV a chance while Asmongold is still letting his chat decide what he does and being a slave to Blizzard.

Asmongold's chat is so toxic towards FFXIV it's not even funny. All you see mainly in the comments is nothing but "Weeb this/that, game sucks, music sucks, etc". And you can clearly see it in his latest video of him "Reacting" to the Endwalker trailer. I honestly think that Asmongold would be willing to give FFXIV a try but is being held back by his chat. If his chat wasn't so toxic about FFXIV and genuinely think Asmongold should try FFXIV and conveyed this in twitch chat and was supportive about it, I'm sure he would try it.

They didn't do that for male viera and they are coming out soon. So why would they do that for hairstyles? The fact is, they know. I'm sure you'll see more in 6.0. Although it may not be what you want to hear because it's more waiting but patience is a virtue.

Honestly, I can't blame them. If I were that established a content creator I'd also have a hard time leaving that drip behind (not to mention being a community figure head).
