Anyway, I don't doubt there will be more hair options. I don't really know what the ffxiv team's work flow is like, but I suspect it's more efficient to work on hair and head gear after the character models are complete. Since the devs decided they were going to add male viera, it makes sense then that they would hold off on the hair and head gear. Perhaps it's just easier to have the male and female models done so they can work on hair/head gear in tandem.
The hair and head gear is coming. Just slowly. The graphics team worked extremely hard to live up to player requests and expectations. Working on female hrothgar and male viera is like adding another race - they may be the opposite gender, but it's pretty much the equivalent of a new race. It's a lot of dedication and hard work.
They aren't ignoring the hair and head gear. It's just a matter of work flow.
