Given that Arcanists come off as largely geometry-obsessed, and Scholars are, generally, academics, it seems a term designed entirely to place Alphinaud right in between SCH and ACN.

They aren't, which makes me sad.
It also makes sense that we don't get the moonstone book of light that buffs anyone standing on it either, but that was also used in the Arcanist storyline. Seeing how both Summoner and Scholar both don't have this just tells me the path of an "Arcanist" just got retrofitted and gutted.
Alphy is titled Academician just so he can work as a SCH without actually being one, as currently there's only 2 SCH in the world - the WoL and Setoto (eventually). I recall Tataru working as a pseudohealer at some point too.
Back on track, it wouldn't surprise me AST and SCH getting a few number tweaks, and WHM some redundant change like Fluid Aura's bind being reduced to 4 sec. I'm in the minority here, but I actually want to see Noct buffed. Diurnal AST is really just WHM 2.0, at least Noct is more of an inbetween WHM and SCH.
Oh no.
I can already see 6.0 tanks.
Smash. Spin Smash (aoe). Provoke (generate a billion emnity). Tank stance passive and the rest defensive cd's.
Meanwhile healer DoT's are removed and Glare/Ruin/Malefic given a 20 sec cooldown so we stop spamming it so much and heal more.
Dont give them any ideas... i can see that actually happening.Quote:

That won't happen or else people can't progress with MSQ.
A big takeaway for jobs is that they have to be playable for the MSQ - if it's remade solely into a job that supports raiding/party - play without any form of DPS only then the job's going to suffer because it won't be feasible in the open world.
If that actually did get implemented though, rather than people complaining, I'm pretty sure people are just going to directly quit.
Making Eos and Selene the same was a really bad idea, but they just HAD to do something. Back in SB, when you did extreme/savage with a pug group (or even newer normal modes) with a SCH as co-healer who used Selene, you had to heal so much more than if they used Eos instead. Often, when you got really inconsiderate healers, all healing they ever did came from Selene's Embrace and I had to heal so much that Fey Wind probably wasn't even worth it anymore. Of course this was only a problem with randoms. But it was still very prevalent.
So having one pet buff dps and the other not is something they have to avoid if they give us Selene back.
Selene always felt like she was missing a crucial healing tool. I always thought she should have had a "Fey Medica" to Correspond to Eos "Medica II". Whispering Dawn gave back a ton of HP over time and Bellowing Dusk could have been a much smaller but instant raid wide heal to replace Silent Dusk and make Selene feel less like a healing handicap. Of course we got Fey Blessing after they deleted Selene altogether so the Dev team clearly agreed with me that the fairy needed a burst heal and now I'm sad I ever asked for it.
They don't really do dramatic changes to jobs in patches. They say "job adjustments" for every patch, but it's just a balancing pass. Cooldown adjustments and potency buffs/nerfs
I thought Selene should be your offensive fairy.
I would've made silent dusk also an AoE attack, nothing huge maybe 60 potency or so
Made her AoE esuna also be an AoE heal, kind of like you suggested, so she'd have some sort of healing (though I would make it do less than WD over time to keep it balanced and such)
and then either kept fey wind, or make it some other sort of offensive spell (since SS screws up a lot of classes now, including SCH)
And keep EOS the way she was so that was Eos = defensive/prog fairy and Selene = offensive/farm fairy.
