Culinary Creation Contest (discussion)

edit: that goes for every single contest that has ever been created in the history of contest making outside of quebec.

Good luck to all those participate... I'd probably win since I've had a culinary scholarship, but unfortunately I have no culinary skills in-game... yet. ;-;

Honestly, I'd rather the terms state that if you enter from an excluded region you exempt yourself from the in-game prize but can still be declared a winner.

I'm from the UK and even if they put up an EU event with the same item reward I won't care, it was this contest that got me excited. If they offered different prizes for all contests it would be exactly the same, somebody is bound to want one of the other two.

It's a little confusing as to why the contests for the NA and JP are different but offer the same reward, is it purely to get some variety or rather an informed decision that JP players wouldn't enjoy the cooking competition as much.

EU event probably won't be any better than the NA one anyway... "Hay thar we think EU is only made of England, Italy, France and Germany. The rest doesn't exist."

No matter the triviality of the item in question, it's the principle.

It's not fair to deny them? Just like it's fair every time some of these contests are up that others have to sit and watch other people participate. Why would someone have to feel handicapped just cause of the region they made their account in (doesn't even have to be born there). . . . all while they are bound by the same moral and financial rules towards SE.

It's all rules and regulations of individual country laws, and it's all fine, but as I said, if SE thinks that it's not going to cause discomfort to some portion of they playerbase then they really have no clear concept of the online community.

Exactly. I don't even want that stupid scarf, I just don't like being left out of the contest because of where I live when I pay the same monthly fee as any other player.

The same thing happened on the Love Letter contest. It was announced first for NA, then EU contest was added a couple days later. Relax lol

What I want to know is, will the recipe I create be added to the game as well ? That would be a cooler reward than the scarf imo.

Europe =/= South America

I've never posted on the forum before but this contest has really angered me. My belief is that all items should be accessible to ALL players old and new. This contest is not only limited to a region but it is also only awarded to the winners of the event. Now, if Square Enix intends to offer this to everyone at a later stage they need to make this clear from the off.

The item itself may be deemed worthless by some, but it should still be accessible to ALL and then it is down to the individual player whether or not they wish to pursue obtaining the event item.

I hope the developers will listen to this and take note.

More than a few days have passed, so I'm curious. . . . Am I missing a post or something or there's still no word of an EU and other regions' contest, which some of the posters on this thread kept reassuring us that we'll get?
