Even a new player just hitting level 30 for the first time should at least be using their basic 1-2-3 combo if they have one. They light up with a yellow box. The very minimal expectation of them to at least use their basic aggro combo at that level is not an unreasonable standard.

You do realize I could spam Heavy Thrust for the entire duration of a level 70 dungeon—max level content—and complete it. Once again, by your logic, that is perfectly okay. We're not necessarily talking about Satasha, especially seeing player's lack of skill far exceeds low levels. As for brand new to video games. I wasn't aware pressing 1-2-3 when each combo lights up was difficult. Bluntly stated, your excuses here are precisely why players reach higher end content and get absolutely slaughtered. The game's standards are irrelevant in a multiple-player game where you will interact with a larger community who aren't going to necessarily adhere to the devs preferred manner of play. It's the primary reason healers are continuously encouraged to DPS and tanks drop stance every chance they get.

If new people are here to have fun and play, it's quite easy to see especially if they're new. They tend to ask, simply because of that.

The game by your level 30 example should have already taught how abilities can interact. In fact, the, for some reason being completely optional, hall of novice teaches you what combo's are if your job uses them. Part of my issue is players are not encouraged to learn and improve, and so long as that's encouraged, content has to be built around it.

I understand people can be brand new to games. That's where my other point is. People refusing to take advice, either completely ignoring it, or backlashing like I just punched them. I have no issues when people accept my advice. That's what I do anyways. If someone tells me X is better, I'm going to at least give it a shot. If it's not, oh well. If it is, then sweet, I just learned a job better.

A tank holding aggro and using defensive skills as his job is intended to do. Not standing in that obvious "Hey, I'm going to try to attack you all RIGHT HERE in 3 seconds" mark on the ground. We're talking about the basics that so many people seem not just incapable of now, but almost oblivious to.

And don't try to take the hardline "well you can just not pug then" approach. I've seen plenty of people complaining that they can't find groups (not surprisingly usually around this time of a catch up patch) to do anything with. Once I was sympathetic, but then I started noticing a trend, at least on my server: The ones unable to find groups or were behind on endgame content were the ones who generally don't try, don't try to learn, refuse help, or have some general excuse/rationalization for not taking whatever necessary steps they need to accomplish what they want.

And I won't mince words one bit here: If they can't manage that in a game, I truly worry about how they handle life.

I'm not saying that's okay.
You do realize these people exist? You do realize that they may enter your party if you pull from a pool of randoms? You do realize that whining about these players on the forums is not going remove these people from existence?

If a kid breaks a window of your house playing baseball, its one thing deal with it by getting compensation, its another thing go on a rant about how society finds window breaking behaviors acceptable and how children are horrible monsters that curse families.

First off, a child accidentally breaking my window isn't the correct example. Intentionally breaking my window is the example, because backlashing at me for daring to mention that Butcher Block isn't useful if you don't combo it probably means they know and don't want to.

Also, if they can't press 1-2-3, why can they even look at savage? Game lets them.
