I said it before, but people REALLY overfocus mid.
Had a match yesterday where I and a few others on foot nearly took down the south tower, then I personally tore through a good 4 or 5 Chasers and 3 Oppressors myself (and several enemies on foot, I wasn't counting them), literally halting any attempts at a south push. . . all the while they complained and struggled to never actually take back mid.
Sure some might say "if you can do all that, why didn't you help mid?" Had I done that, those south push attempts would've been successful. And while it's tougher, a counteroffensive strategy is to basically hunt enemy mechs and waste their CE. If for some reason you can't retake mid, aggressively make them waste that resource. Keep em busy and get a push or your own down the other lane or sneak something through.
Mid IS important. But capturing and holding it is STILL no guarantee of victory. If they push and you don't push back, the status of mid means nothing.
