I'm actually pretty happy with it, even though it feels like a bit of a bandaid response to our cries for some more AOE healing capabilities. Still, being about to use ET more often when things are going pear shaped isn't a bad thing in my opinion - though the twenty second time is still fairly clunky.

I don't really see what we're getting as a buff. Additionally, compared to a White Mage, I don't feel OP at all. Some people say we are, and that's totally okay. I understand their viewpoint. I disagree, but still understand. If I recall, there's still more changes to come. I'm hoping White Mages will get more love through the Plenary Indulgence rework and I'm thrilled Scholars are finally getting some attention. I think we're in a good place and I hope to see the other two jobs there with us very soon.

Why do we keep seeing this "no shield for 65 lvls" crap, its only 16 lvls after AST gets one... Do people just forget AST doesnt unlock Noct til lvl 50? Then all this "get rid of RNG" then complain about RNG reliant abilities being strong... I wonder if WHMs would be happier getting 4 buttons to directly manage lilies, use 1 lily button, use 2 lilies button, use 3 lilies buttons, activate used lilies for next skill, then press skill...

And can we all stop complaining about having more reasons to use Cure I and Physick... They're bread and butter MP efficient heals, if you don't need to use them, you probably don't need any of the bonuses they give either. (Didn't include Bene 1 because for some reason, ASTs dont seem mind their MP efficient heal, weird...)

Or maybe people keep treating their toolkit like a box of nails, so when someone has to (or chooses to) use them as different tools it stands out.

Yeah, band-aid is about right. I mean SCH/SCH is annoying combo to aoe heal on-demand. But aside from that SCH was already in a good AoE healing position.

My complaints have been the high cost-benefit ratio of Scholar skills. So i'm curious to see what they will change to Indom because that will probably explain the 20s ET cooldown buff.

So what? Most of the content in the game is 50-60 stuff. What do ASTs have to complain about?

I'm curious if Miasma 2 will be changed. I'd give it something like 50 potency direct damage + small dot. That would allow it to be spammable on 5+ targets, but still a dps boost on 2-4 targets if cast once for the dot.

Maybe you and me read the content lists differently, but 1-49 has vastly more, and by the time you have a 50 AST 50 content is outgeared simply by merit of having acquired well beyond making the content irrelevant gear before you can have a 30 AST. But theres an entire of segment of content that exists where only SCH have shields. And entire slew of content before that where theres a lack of non conj aoe heals. Between Quests, Fates, Guildleves, Company Leves, Hunt Log, Hunt Bill Marks, and Beast Tribes, most content is 1-49. Heck theres not even 59-70 adeventurer leves in the game skewing it even further in favor of lowbie.

Hey, did you know? Stoneskin was cross-classable, and availabe at what again? Early 30's? So basically exactly when needing shields becomes a thing. I got some of the old dungeons during leveling roulettes lately, and they have not been very fun without Stoneskin. But what do I even know, it's been a horrible skill anyway even in that content!

I'm disappointed that SE is clearly ignoring the Adloquium potency problem, which is arguably the largest flaw, by far, of the entire scholar toolkit.

if they made aetherflow a 30s cd, the mp cost on adlo wouldn't be as big of an issue, but the potency problem would still remain. if they double the shield (make it 2.0) for non-crits as well as crits, then it would be more in line with astro shields.

For those wondering, the potency difference between non-crit shieds:
Astro has 575 potency shield, while scholars have a 300 potency shield.

For crit shields:
Astro has 862 potency, to the scholar's 900.

so, for 25% more mp, and a full gcd to cast it, you too, can have a 20% chance to get 37.5 higher potency than the star healer.
