[DEVS] Wishlist for 2016

I want the butts to return, on top of just about everything else in here.

Edit: I would like the forum moderators to let us know they are actively searching the forums. Just a simple "Hey, we're here reading this" would give me sufficient evidence that they are actually reading the forums instead of just paid to put crab news about irrelevant stuff up. So much chatter is going on in the forums and we only get to hear from the forum moderators about stupid events of some kind. Show us our voices are being heard, no matter how small.

Edit 2: I would also like to see the cap lifted for tomes. The entire idea is stupid.

A way to sell our tome gear back for somewhat less than what we bought it for

Instanced housing - i know it was said to be difficult because server space but i know if we keep asking you'll find a way eventually

I dont mind the grind of the current relic weapon so much but things like the Gold Saucer, PVP, Odin and Behemoth fates could greatly benefit from dropping these items

I would like to see the following happen in 2016...or at least heavily talked about to be added by Q1 2017:

1. - Heist/Leves for crafting and gathering beyond the skill grind of both classes. In Miner, we have had to gather alot of stones in The Highlands and Mor Dhona, why not let the crafters do something with it as a Leve.

2 - More Poses, seat styles, emote for riding style (would love to ride my chocobo or Midgar while standing on the saddle - this goes for flying too).

3 - Upgrade the Grand Companies Ranking. This hasn't seen an increase since the game released. I know its being discussed, and Yoshi-P has commented that the Dev Team is looking at doing it differently to get to the top tiers of the GC Champion.

4 - Battle Arena at the Gold Saucer - Yes, just like in FFVII. sync'd, unsync'd, exp points, cool stuff/glams/gears...possibly horizontal progression gear sets....

5 - Bring Life to the FC through more to do in the workshops. Personally I would love to see an ability for FCs to be able to build their own working Mech Walkers. Could make things interesting in the Diadem.

6 - Expand existing housing plots and add more - they are covering this, I know.

7 - Bring Flight to the 2.x areas - may be asking to much I know.

8 - Add some new areas in between 3.0 and 4.0 expansions. Give us a map or two for open world to go from Idyllshire to Mor Dhona or something along those lines. Right now, everything flows through the Eastern Central Highlands which seems to be a stress point.

9 - Veteran Reward more teleport tickets, an additional or several additional free teleport locations. The Minions are always appreciated, glams aren't for everyone, so give us more things we can all use in game.

10 - Don't Forget about Diadem - I say this so not to forget to give us reasons to go here, but also give us more locations inside the Sea of Clouds to explore. I would love to see the Sea of Clouds be the one place in the game going forward that is always being added to and evolving and gaining additional areas to explore, gather, kill, etc.

11 - Variety in Diadem - Make some places that are gather only with a minimum of 30 mins. Fishing and mining locations with 30 min timers. Kill locations with a 60 min time clock. As Diadem is expanded, make some place specialty places for Variety.

12 - Horizontal Armour Progression for all classes and jobs including crafting and gathering - I am aware that the Materia allowance in 3.2 is an idea to achieve this add for players. Personally, take existing amours and weapons and do more than Materia. Set them up where I can have a monk knuckle that is strength +500 or Dex +500. Gathering gear with Precep +1500 and Gathering +1500.

13 - Horizontal Armour Progression that can also be upgraded over time through crafting and gathering classes - kinda of like above, but give gathering and crafters the abilities to augement existing equipment with new skills depending how it is crafted, not just materia added to it.

Ok, I will stop there....

Oh, and I'd like to see at least a third additional armor set at the highest item level--both for an additional (dyable) set for glamours and for more stat variety. They may be giving us this already with the new crafted gear. But I'd like to see upgradeable 24-man gear as well (using the same system we use now for Esoterics, or something new).

- Tell me how much time my crops have left before they can be harvested. A countdown clock of sorts.

- After we've already gathered items from a rare, timed node, put the time it spawns in our gathering log. I shouldn't have to use an app to figure out what time I need to be there.

- Primal themed armor!

- Tribal-style armor - perhaps something like this or this

- Job-themed furnishings

- A bit more back story to the clans - or quests/items we can get by learning about them. Similar to how we can do the Sundrop dance after helping the Vanu.

- Make FATES something to look forward to doing. Something that has a real effect on the lives and the world of Eorzea. Make them more rewarding and powerful but happen less often. Something you can grab your friends for and participate in to try and improve the world.

Your manner...needs work. As in, I agree with you, and yet how you put things makes me *not* want to agree with you. Your points need to be noticed; they need to be ADDRESSED. But any Dev reading it will just skip over it (using "suck" six times does not help an argument for change when dealing with professionals in regards to what is essentially their job).

If we want Devs to take this thread seriously, even if we feel passionate about the subject matter, we gotta use some tact. We're wasting our time otherwise...

...also archers are kinda supposed to be interrupted in a melee, it's been a thing in RPGs since D&D. They'd be a tad broken otherwise, since they tend to attack faster than other classes/jobs (which is the case here too...also <cough>barrage<cough>) and can attack from afar. Also, you should be moving, since they *don't* have a cast timer when attacking, and can do so whilst strafing your target...unlike a caster...which they are not... This isn't to say BRD/MCH don't have problems, or rather are lacking certain BRD/MCH qualities, but I digress...

But yes! Your other points are spot on. Remove grumpiness, and you'd be one of the most precise, well thought out, most practical posts on here.

Allow me to glamour the same piece twice (or even more).

Eg. I use the same gloves for both scholar and white mage and am allowed to use a different glamour for each class.

They should just tie Glamours to Gear Sets, rather than the gear itself TBH... Much better solution and I've no real idea why they even did it this way in the first place... Given how they worked Prisms (completely terribly) I think they just wanted to give Crafting some form of twisted relevance... Slap Glamours on Gear Sets? Suddenly Paladin and Dark Knight can be wearing the same gear, but look entirely different... Suddenly I don't get annoyed as I replace gear and have to rework Glamours... Such a better system...

Speaking of Gear Sets actually... Since 3.2 is going to be offering quite a significant piece of PvP content... Finally time to at least double our Armoury Chest space? Perhaps they'll opt to scrap Morale completely instead, but if they don't... I have 25 spaces in the Armoury Chest, to split between; 8 Crafts, 3 Gatherers, and 13 Jobs. One free space isn't so bad, except Morale is a thing and I kind of want to have a dedicated PvP set...

Personally I'd drop Morale and procrastinate of fixing Armoury Chest space until new Jobs are introduced, I'd still want my PvE and PvP Gear Sets to look different, but a proper Glamour system takes care of that (bonus points; tie hotbar layout to Gear Set rather than Job! I don't need PvP skills on my hotbar during PvE!). Morale is a dumb stat in PvP... Gear is a dumb thing in PvP... How well geared you are should not come into it at all. There should be no item level cap, item level shouldn't matter at all. Everyones stats should be standardized to keep things balanced... The gear rewards should be what they are now, for the most part; Trophies.

Why not go one or more steps better for PvP rewards than just trophies: minions, mounts, titles, new *glamour* gear? If and when they actually fix PvP, that would increase participation even more-so.

If you think about it, having gear matter in PvP settings has been a thing since Everquest (and before?) in MMOs, so we can't blame SE for keepin' it that way...that being said...I think Nalien's right, it could be time to change that, especially in a game where there's no in-world PvP. I understand a big part of PvP enjoyment is earning new, better gear, though...but the systems got to be functional first before that's figured out. I personally don't mind the Morale system, but I wouldn't really miss it either if it were replaced with something better.
