Heavensward Preorder on PSN (EU) - MIA!

Being able to pre-order only the day the EA starts feels very wrong. Also, intempestive reply from the EU staff shows lack of concern for the EU players community.

I can understand technical problems like servers stress that cannot (entirely) be forseen, but this time SE failed us.

I hope things will be a bit smoother than during 2.0 EA, that's the only thing I can do.

Another point I'd like to make - you'd think they'd try to get this up as early as possible considering for EU PS3 users, digital download is the ONLY option. That's a pretty huge chunk of people who would want to preorder that literally have no other way to whatsoever. Plus other groups of users, like those in AU, are also severely limited because of the shipping costs, so realistically their only viable option is the digital download, too.

One of my friends got banned and he din't have any bad words on his message. But sadly this are the poor policies that the usual Japanese company has. Just look at Nintendo with youtube.

Aldora the minority used foul language not the majority. Is it not the publisher's responsibility to ensure their agreements with the platform will be in line with the launch of their product? Have they not had several months to prepare for said launch? Did Bayohnne not say we will get the pre-order before before early access and there is nothing to worry about? Is that not creating an expectation which by the sound of it they did not intend to keep? They, the community team, could have said something before and easy us into this but they decided to keep quiet.

Yes it is just a game but in order to be there with my friends for the launch is special to me because I stay far from them and had to plan months ahead for it. Not everyone has super fast internet. The CE isn't even available for order in my country. SE didn't even bother responding to their local supplier when they asked about it.

Just for interest sake have you pre-ordered?

except with preloading and day 1 digitals, that is exactly how it works. also, thanks to EU being in the future(i miss germany) when its the 19th for you guys, it will still be the 18th for NA. if someone who has already done their codes can confirm or deny what im saying, that would be great. granted, this doesnt change that this is a pretty huge problem for these companies to have, in regards to anyone who cant/dont have the time to be able to do things at certain times. hopefully, a fix (if there is still a problem) is found sooner and and preorders open sooner than the date said by the rep.

Somehow I'm wondering if Sony is in on this...because it seems like the ball is in their court. (still waiting for a PSN code in the United States here [I don't use NA because to me that signifies the mainland US and not Alaska and Hawaii])

Is it Sq-Ex's (my shorthand of Square-Enix) fault or is this all the fault of Sony EU dropping the ball somewhere along the line...or is it the fault of both companies?

What I said is covered in that long post at the top of the page, seems like even my question is answered by that post.

I couldn't agree more. If you're going to charge us a damn sight more, then the least you could do is make the same product available to everyone.

There are always going to be defenders of the Square "It's not their fault blah blah" it still doesn't detract from the fact, we as paying customers of the EU feel, if I'm honest undervalued as customers. They're quick to take our sub's but can't even provide the same service the rest of the globe seem to be getting.

Considering how much Square are charging for the CE, it's surprising how little they actually want my money.

It doesn’t really matter if it’s the minority or the majority that used foul language in order to express their frustration/disappointment/anger. My comment was not directed to anyone specific, but since people were saying that the language was justified, that others were wondering why their posts got deleted or even repeated their previous statement while censoring it, implied that foul language was used and that the Forum Moderators will address it as they see fit.

It’s ok to complain about the issue, as long as people keep it civilized.

Yes, it is the publishers responsibility to ensure that products will be available upon the day of the intended release as well as the pre-order date they stated. However, since they need to work with 3rd parties like Sony and Valve, that doesn’t mean that SE didn’t do all they can to bring the expansion to said platforms. Like i’ve mentioned in my previous comment, ensuring that a product is released on said platform does not always lie in the hands of the publisher. Valve and Steam have the final say to this, not SE.

Yes, they have had several months to prepare for said launch. And they still are. The issue here is the localized availability of the pre-order option within the story of said platforms. The JP store had the Preorder option a few weeks before the NA store and now the EU store will have the pre-order option several weeks after the NA store. The ball currently lies within the Sony court and SE is doing what they can in order to give its customers the opportunity to pre-order their expansion. But like i said. SE has no say into how Sony and Valve release content on their stores.

Yes, Bayohne did say that we can get the pre-order before the early access started and that we would not have to worry. Yes, it’s also true that the JP as well as the NA community are able to preorder the expansion while we just received word from the EU Community Rep that we won’t be able to do so till the 19th of June. But, that does not mean they didn’t not do anything in their power to get the expansion on the stores of the said platforms sooner than that. So, no. It does not sound like Bayohne or SE themselves made a promise they were not willing to keep.

But! I do agree that they could’ve said something sooner. As well as in regards to the availability of the Boxed CE at the local stores and the pricing within the individual countries. That is something they would have to work on. Communicating with your player base is important.

In regards to your question about if i have pre-ordered the expansion or not, yes i have pre-ordered the Digital CE edition for the PC through the SE Store (which had it’s own share of problems, as you might already know). But, even though i have pre-ordered the game and i would like to play with my friends, like yourself… I have other things IRL which will render me unable to log in during most of the Early Access. However, i don’t mind that i’ll miss the Early Access. The things i have planned for that weekend are more important than playing a game, which i can play to my hearts content with my friends after from the official release onward.

That’s what really matters in the end.

I'd say it's a bit of both. There a numerous games currently available to pre-order on the US store yet not on the EU store, and occasionally it does go the other way. If you want to pre-order the upcoming F1 game you better hope that your in EU because that is currently not available on the US store. Even looking at SE history only a couple months ago EU got a pre-order for Type-0 yet the US never got a pre-order at all.

Now clearly publishers want money from as many people as they can get so there don't have any reason to simply choose not to make it available so somewhere something so it's most likely a combination of the requirements from Sony are too demanding and the publisher just isn't to give anything up in order to meet them.

Complaining it's useless, they are not listening to us. Unless you have something like a massive revolt, convincing all of these people whining about this to stop buying SE products or something, all we say in this topic is absolutely useless.
