I think they do, and I think they get more attention from Square as well.Quote:
And you really believe jp servers get some special filters that the na servers don't get?
They have found a way around it. The customer comes to them directly thanks to external advertisements rather than in game ones.Quote:
You don't think if there was money to be made the gil sellers wouldn't find a way around it?
It might be smaller, but it's still present and profitable or the sellers wouldn't maintain a presence and supply on the servers of that data center.Quote:
It just really seems like you're reaching... When the simplest explanation is just that the market is smaller.
I think the most ridiculous things I have heard, was that one of the sites is actually offering a monthly subscription service, to be added to their "do not spam" list, so the bots for their site wont spam you, for a price.
I'm not denying it exists, I just think it's significantly smaller. Two more points:
1) I think one of the main motivators in buying gil is for buying coil runs etc. Selling runs on jp servers is very rare (never see it, but it's probably happened. )
2) I think it is literally difficult for most jp players to pay for gil. A lot of people don't have credit cards. PayPal is almost unheard of.
So I'm not saying the reason is entirely because of morals.
But I also genuinely don't understand why you think se would deny na servers better filters if they already existed on jp servers.
You may be right on the payment methods as a reason for there being less of it. I think I need to clarify the filter point. It's the same filter, but I think the filter is easier to bypass if the spam is in English. It's the same things being looked for, but the keyword search is weaker when the person uses the mish mash of special characters to screw with it. I have no doubt that if they thought it would bring them business, they'd find a way to screw with the JP text search too, but if the market is smaller and people come to you....why bother?
There is the perception among the EU and NA players, and I don't think it's wrong, that SE gives a lot more love to the servers in it's JP data centers. It's no different than Blizzard giving more love to it's US servers over its EU and Brazil data centers. It's where the devs play. It's their patch, so they weed it better.
OK, I have tried to stay out of this, but you are coming across as borderline xenophobic with your obstinate suspicion that SE somehow favors JP customers and deliberately neglects others. Frankly, your posts in this topic have sounded like the "ugly American", almost as if you just have to show that the Japanese are as bad or worse than American/European gamers. Say what you like, but Japanese society is very different from what you have experience of, and citing coworkers going to Japan does not help your case at all. So, please just stop.
RMT use many smaller server as their "farmer" clusters, here they create massive armies of Black Mages to create materias by bucket loads. Then they load them all into one account that is being transferred to one of those "money making" America + Europe servers and sells the materias to make gills (from players) and go back to sell those gills to players, who in turn giving the gills back to RMT via market board gil laundering system. You can use Belias as example, if you search players, you will quickly notice bazilion thaumarge + black mages with barebones details and "randomized" name that is semi normal. They keep low profiles there since they are using those low population servers as "farm" central. SE should target these and destroy their source of income...
Been a lot more than a few days.
It's a common thing these idiots are doing, and it really makes me wonder something that I'm not sure SE wants to uncover:
Recently, Square-Enix celebrated four million accounts on XIV.
I know there was a time that at least half the players on XI were RMT (buying, selling, or both).
Are we that far, or even WORSE???
