Not sure how things are on your server, but 2.3 made Fisher the best gilmaker of the DoL by a very large margin.

I'll be honest, I'd rather a system where I could greatly narrow the fish that I get than the current one where targeting a fish is often times impossible.

Technically that is what it is already. RNG/% elements is just that obfuscated.

Knowing that an actual mini game would be pretty neat right? Or like.. actual skill... lol

Use some of Tiggy's abilities and I'd get back into fishing again, I went out of it since I can make more money with half a leveled gatherer (minus demateria lol).. went out of it since it takes triple the amount of inventory, went out because its too RNG. I liked fishing, I want to like FFXIV's 2.0 because as I said I really like the idea of fishing logs, weights, and legendary fish- thats awesome. But I'm not a big gambler, I'd prefer to use 1.0's system with 2.0's current lack of gui lag and new shiny additions. Or better yet, an improved system we know they are now capable of XD.

True enough, but the misers out there farm their mats and use Culinarian to get the Artisan Spectacles, even if that makes things take considerably longer.

Now I'm not sure if a lot of these are exactly two hour windows given how hard they are to catch but this is exactly why I'm unhappy. Too much RNG plays a part to have a small time frame. Seriously, they are hard enough so give us 6 Eorza hours instead of 2.

0/10 yesterday on the olgi and captain's chalice but 43 getaways? Geez. The RNG-fishing gods do not smile upon you my fishing friend. I burned at least 150k Gil's-worth of spinach quiche and have 1 Gigantshark (a 2.2 fish) to show for it...and I only had the FC gathering buff without the f. Casual is one thing but this has devastated my views on my favorite class.

I don't know how much more i can handle the constantly bad feeling this game gives me when I take my casual self to do a casual type task and get nothing to show for it. Then i realized I wasted 5 hours and have zero progress. Might be fun for some folks but, don't think it's my cup of tea
