A better solution would be to make the Ramuh ring 110. It would give people like the OP a second ring, and give people a reason to actually run Ramuh Ex. Two birds, 1 stone.
I vote no to this.
Instead, make Ramuh EX ring upgradeable to i110 through oils or something else (please no terrible drop rate from Ramuh EX -__-). Win win. Another i110 option, and actual reason to do Ramuh EX. It is annoying for raiders as well. Who knows when T9 ring will decide to drop and we stop seeing the same stupid loot each week...
Wait... aren't the jewelry pieces listed as "All Classes"? Why can't you just get a ring that matches your job, then another ring meant for another job with decently favorable stats? It's not ideal, sure, but it's something.
I only know this because I was contemplating, as a tank, getting a bunch of Gloam jewelry to buff my DPS potential for Frontlines.
Since when did ilvl prove you're pro? I have the tank ring from coil and the difference is only minute. Heck I still have the allagan bracers from BC1 since I think the weathered stuff has crap stats and I'm holding out for the High allagan bracers in t6. The current system is fine the way it is.
It really isn't though. There is too limited options right now. While I don't agree with the OPs removal of 'Unique', there is certainly room for more options. It isn't all about tanks either. Some classes suffer from terrible stats on at least one of their options, and the i110 alternative isn't even as good. With only two i110 options, this leaves some i100s better then i110 unfortunately, and others waiting on RNGeezus to bless them in Coil that they clear week after week. Its just poor design overall.
Usually this is actually far, far worse than getting a "job appropriate" i100 ring. For example, suppose I'm a bard. So my soldiery ring is an Auroral Ring, whose primary stat is dexterity. But now, if I for whatever reason can't get my hands on a High Allagan Ring of Aiming, I don't have any other i110 choices for rings that work for damage. The closest thing would be a Gloam Ring... which doesn't contribute even one point of dexterity. Which makes it far, far, -far- worse than an i100 ring (like Judgment or a weathered Auroral), because you're dropping 16-18 points of your most important stat.
The difference might not be much numerically, but anyone who looks at your equipment and sees you have a High Allagan Ring of Fending? They know you're skilled enough to clear the hardest battle in the entire game (barring Savage). Anyone worth their salt in this game by this point knows that ilvl doesn't mean much at all. What primarily matters is your skill, the content you're able to clear. I have two different classes at i97 but I wouldn't even try to pretend that I'm top-tier in this game, because I haven't yet cleared Twin.
git gud and start clearing coil
