People complaining about PS3 Players

The PS3 controller setup is amazing and the first time I ever seen it actually work for a game like this and I applaud SE for doing such a great job with it. A PS3 controller may be comparable to a regular keyboard and mouse, but you have to remember that a PC can have many different input devices and be a lot more powerful, if its a custom built machine over a Dell. The percentage of people with the knowledge and capital to build a dream machine is small, but you cant roll them all into a (PC) bucket, because my PC would destroy anything Best Buy ever dreamed of selling.

With this said, I don't use a keyboard or a regular mouse to play, I use a Razer Orbweaver paired with a Razer Naga. I don't cycle anything, I don't switch any button setups, I have every ability my job is capable of using instantly available, as well as targeting with a thumb stick, or clicking, or using mouseover, or F-keys if I choose, all of my movement and actions are all right there and I never move my hands, only press buttons.

Now if you compare my setup to a controller "and I have one for PC" there is no comparison, my stuff is fully programmable a controller is capable of less functions, hell the mouse alone has 17 buttons "fully programmable as well". The same can be said though, if you compare a PS3 to a everyday tom, dick, and harry computer setup that didn't cost 5 grand then sure I will say it is about on par, but a $300 PS3 is no where in the same ballpark as my $5,000 computer system.

Argument aside, I do not discriminate PS3 players and in fact have seen them negotiate events just as well if not in some cases better than other PC players, but the issues that those PC players are having "if its not just failure to pay attention" are issues that I don't have because of my machine.

Its just a matter of "what kind of PC" your comparing it with.

I think the comparisons between PC and PS3 is taken from the standpoint that "anyone who games on a PC must have spent as much if not more money than me and my personal gaming rig", a stance fraught with elitism in itself. A stance that Square did not share, I might add, as they had clearly said in the past that part of the reason for scaling down the graphics was to appeal to your average PC (not PC user), which 9 times out of 10 is not a gaming rig. The fact that each settings preset comes in normal and laptop flavors is clue enough for that. Your average PC user also isn't often thinking about what games they will be playing in the future when they are buying a new PC, they are thinking about what games they have at the time. I know that's how a friend of mine thinks, I often have to give them nudges to higher end machines. They are still using a 6 year old computer as their main computer, only just now seeing it as the crippled old man it is.

In either case, it's better on PC. It's hilarious you argue it, and I havnt seen this " unoptimized code" you speak of in years. Again, not any more so than it is on console. Just to remind you. It was about "The PS3 is the reason why many things in FFXIV has been limited". Seeing as all you did was point out why the PC is better graphically which basically has no effect on anything, you seemed to have missed the point.

DPSing/Tanking is easy with a controller, the problem is Healing.

You cannot target even 40% as good as a Mouse.

So while taking a DPS or Tank who is using a controller is fine, taking a Healer will only be a detriment to your party and I am not saying it's impossible, it is just the differentiation in ability between the 2 users is huge in comparison to the other 2 roles.

How are healers gimped the best healer I run with is. Ps3 player. Seriously how hard is it to press up and down on a d pad it seems that the only people who talk bad about ps3 players only do so out of ignorance just because they can't do it than no one else can. To all the super elitist PC players...lol....why not play the game of how PCs ruin the game for ps3 players. I.e. bots,hacking,spamming and all that fun

Uh, relic+1 WHM/relic SCH here, have carried many a Titan HM run, PS3 player. Healing with a controller is extremely easy.

This isn't WoW. This game has a 2.5s GCD and enemies that have predictable rotations with plenty of space in between to stop, target, cast, and keep running. The dev team play-tests using controllers, ffs.

You should actually use a controller with this game for an extended period of time before spouting nonsense.

I've had people that i ran pre-mades with that I sit with shock after completing a Titan HM or AK when i tell them i heal on the PS3. They get all WOW and amazed. I just laugh to myself, yet at the same time makes me feel good that there are those people out there who can't figure out just how well designed the PS3 controller is for this game. Makes me feel like having one of those "Ohhh Yeah!" moments and at the same time makes me feel sorry for them.
