Though people would dislike it, I wouldn't mind the MSQ taking us back to the aetherial sea so we can talk to Zenos. If/whenever we run into his former Avatar that seems to have fully possessed his corpse, maybe that could be used as an excuse for us to go there and ask Zenos personally who or what his former Avatar is and Asahi appears before us as well, pushing us out of the way trying to get Zenos' attention. And Zenos just goes "And who are you again? You do not seem to be the wretched Ascian who had possesed that visage before. It does not matter though. I have been reunited with my 'friend' and I will not tolerate someone as lowly as you to interrupt such a gloriois reunion."

And Zenos immediately cuts Asahi down without mercy, before forcibly draging his soul down further within the life stream so he won't interrupt them again, just like Asahi had done to Amon before him. With nothing but dispair and disbelief etched across his face. xD

Would also make for an interesting twist if this scenario played out in the story with also Asahi immediately returning as a deformed and warped vengeful spirit, like Livia and Rhi-chan did, hell bent on seeing our demise after we "had stolen Lord Zenos admiration and attention away from him". Causing Zenos to huff in annoyance before he offers to team up with us to deal with "this troublesome nuisance" that is Asahi. Starting an instanced fight. :3

That's just feedback. If the players want M+, then its on the devs to go to WoW, figure out how M+ works, what its weaknesses is, then apply that to 14.

The players' job is to literally point out what's missing from the game, and then give out concrete examples on what they would like into the game.

This argument is thrown around a lot but I've yet to see anyone who actually think that. What I saw, though, are people who were quick to call anyone a WoW lover the second they say anything positive about it.
I've never played a second of WoW as that game doesn't appeal to me at all, yet it's easy to realize how things like the glamour log would improve FFXIV dramatically. You can appreciate how other games implement their features while still wanting to play FFXIV as your main game.

Whilst I honestly don't hate him or anything, I really don't see what all the fuss is about nor why he seems to be regarded as the authority and savior on all things MMO to the point where players will say things like (to quote something said in another thread on this very forum) "If Asmongold can't save FFXIV then we are truly in a dire situation".

I've watched a number of his past streams on Youtube and, so far as I can see, they're mostly commentary plus him repeatedly saying "that's f*****g badass" or being pedantic about why he thinks whatever the subject matter is isn't badass whilst doing weird eyebrow movements.

Sorry - perhaps I missed something, but I just don't get it.

There's a little bit of irony in that, given that ARR launched as a sort of WoW clone and it's what saved the game. It's fine to look to other games in the genre and see what may or may not work for your own game, btw. I would say S-E needs to look at something because the volume and quality of content has taken a downward slide since the end of Stormblood imo.

Okay seriously, what's this guy's deal with telling people to go play other games?

He just brings nothing constructive to forums, he just talks about other MMOs and tells people to go play them.

Is he okay? Is he, you know, "in need" or something?

that's a misconception. its UI was inspired by WoW as was its ability to jump.

however it's actually inspired by ultima online. yoshi-p has stated this repeatedly. it's just western media/gaming news outlets latched onto him vaguely mentioning WoW and because WoW is bigger name here, it got brought up the most. almost all of the older news articles in japanese about FFXIV mention his experiences in ultima online far, far more than WoW.
