This round will be much harder to judge then the 1st. Everyone did a wonderful job.... Just not sure how I'm going to vote. :O
We have a mentorship program with the YouTube cycle with 2 mentors to judge our shots before we finalize them for the contest, and I actually had a conflict of opinion between the two of them on one of my shots, one thought the light was too much, the other thought the light was just perfect and made me really the star of the picture. It really depends on whether your idea needs you to shine or just blend into the background. I think the contrast in this rejected shot is nice, and in fact, it would have been nice to have this spotlighting in your submitted shot. You really would have stood out more and as I commented, I thought that the pink twilight was a perfect atmosphere for Chibimoon. You also pointed out my moon comment and I was also gonna suggest maybe the Black Coeurl Minion (Chibi-usa and her own Luna!) but I thought it'd be unfair to expect you to have a particular minion like that. But the Pet Emote would have been pretty cute to have gone something like this:

OK, now that got me REALLY curious, I'd really like to talk about it once the round has passed. I didn't submit this one because I was certain I'd get bad reviews from the lack of contrast in the color composition of the shot (because it's mainly brown-ish with no real lighting differences, even the armor feels like it blends itself a little in the background). Plz save this for later, hahah.
Got my votes in with one minute to spare.... x_x
(Replying here instead of the voting thread to keep that one clean :3)
That's the whole reason I gave my critiques the way I did, in the hopes of giving ideas as well as understanding why I voted the way I did! I entered Cycle 3 knowing about those tricks thanks to following this thread - there have been some how-to posts throughout it - but I still learned something new almost every round. Round 6 was probably my most complicated shoot (apart from the final one that I never actually finished since I got eliminated), because of all the things I wanted to do: a closeup shot, offcentered, with an emote. Sounds so simple, doesn't it? :p
First I figured I'd use a Lala friend as a camera, sitting on the table. Unfortunately the Bismarck is FULL of invisible walls, not being able to be on the tables one of them, so I'd have to take it myself. Unfortunately (again) if you have something targeted you'll automatically turn towards the target if you initiate an emote. I almost scrapped the idea and did a completely different shoot, but it kept gnawing at me. There had to be SOME way to do it...
If only I could start the emote, target something behind me, Lock On, turn the HUD off, then take the shot (and hope I get it at the right motion in the emote)... It would have to be one of the longer emotes of course, since it's a lot of steps, but as long as you don't fiddle with the camera when unlocked, it'll return to the position you adjust it to have during Lock On, so you can decide how it should look before starting the shoot. Turns out my fingers just couldn't keep up with all of that. Too many steps, and the emote was over by the time I had the HUD off. So I started digging through the Macro commands, and after a lot of frustration over the things I wanted not being available, I finally put together something that would take care of half of the steps, making the timing still tricky, but possible. This was the final result. I used that macro again in an unsubmitted alternative shot for Round 7, adding a facial emote and Face Camera into the mix.
What I want to say is, this contest is an amazing way to really push yourself and get all bubbly with inspiration since you're working against and at the same time together with the other models. Creativity breeds creativity ♥ But it can also be extremely stressful, so be careful!
I really wish everyone the best of luck, and I hope there are no hard feelings over the feedback I gave.

I knew I was taking a risk with Fat Cat, but I am glad enough people appreciated it. Congratulations on the win, Tinsley! Competition is FIERCE!
First off - Congrat's to everyone, you really made this really hard and no one is going home because of a bad picture - everyone was honestly great and it was so hard to pick. Everyone improved so much from Week 1 to Week 2 and I was truly and honestly impressed! All of you are amazing! :)
That said:
Grats to Tin's~! Two weeks in a row! Excited to see what you have in store for us, and if you can keep this up... or will another come from behind and claim 1st for themselves?!
As for the three who will be leaving us this week:
Aeon: You have a great eye for pictures, don't forget that handsome face of yours!
Kaya: So happy and cheerful! I'm sorry to see you go, and you do such cute shots!
Arrelaine: So lovely, and you know how to make your Miqo'te pop and be noticed!
Even though you're gone, I hope y'all will keep posting your pics on this thread - I would love to see what you would have done~! Also, I hope you might come back another round here or on YT Edition so we can see more from all of you! Best of luck~! <3
Thanks! really surprised i ended up in first, Thought for sure Sunny or Brun would take this one and deservedly so if it worked out that way. So many great shots in this round, i can't wait to see the next.
Time for a happy dance!

I called out this win in advance, the day the shots were posted! You SO deserve this, Tins. Really. TOLD YA SO!
Now we see each other next round ;) Hope to give you a tougher run for your money this time, hahahah :D
Ahh so close :O
Thanks everyone :) I'll probably post my next shot here for y'all when the round goes up since it was ready and I like it, ahaha.
This was lots of fun. I can't wait for the next round....
Everyone did so well this time around. Congratulations to everyone~
Another 4th place for me. I'll get you next round Brun Hilda! And your little dog too!!!! Kekekeke.
Congratulations Miss Tinsley!!! Like everyone else, I knew you'd win this one!
As others have said, even in your elimination you guys have still found a family with all of us ENTMers! You can always join the next cycle, or the future youtube cycle, or even become a judge in the future! Don't walk away from this thinking you lost...you've gained at least 30 friends! ^^
For my shot, I stood in front of one of the Dungeon Entrance Teleport things, and had a Water Elemental throw their Water Spell at me. At the time, I did not know you could do facial expressions with emotes, as Brun Hilda pointed out I should have done the /annoy or /angry with my /dance emote. There were 8 shots that I had to choose from, and I liked them all equally, so it was really a JUST SUBMIT ONE! moment. I wanted to wait til after the scores were posted to show them, just in case. Here are a few others.

I actually did not notice I dyed the gloves blue and not white. I must have done it while trying to get the perfect color to match and never changed it back. Haha. And the background, I knew it looked best at night but the effects were the best in the sunset one. So I decided to bite the bullet on that one! xD
Hehe. I loved all my images, so it really was a toss up for me!
Here is a COO Table I made! Epsil and Tinsley tied, so I ordered it Alphabetically, but reversed their colors. Plus it looks better this way for Tins' double win. xD

Oooo, I disagree! I thought the one submitted beat the others hands down! It was just so much better balanced, and the background shone through the effect just right. Not to mention the lighting in the sky making the silhouettes pop. The spell effect on the left in this one feels a lot more overpowering, and a bit blob-ish in comparison. The one submitted was gorgeous ♥ But then I'm not a judge and you are :p
I agree with Adam; that shot really caught my eye when I was scrolling through those. OwO
No love for the slyphs :(
Holy CRAP. Everyone pulled out their best tricks for this one!
I don't truly know about anyone else, but this round was harder than hell for me. ;_; Thank you so much to my loving competitors who helped pat me on the head (or what they could reach) and encouraged me to try different things. Special thanks to Tinsley, who suggested using one of the Tribal mounts!

My first idea wasn't panning out very well. I was so into my own head that I totally believed everyone would know that a Wind-Up Kobold was crazily malfunctioning! ... that wasn't even neaaar what my fellow ENTMers were seeing. Oh, well... At least you get to see my alternate-shot insanity!
I got you girl!! glad i could help! love your shot this round!

This round was HELL to me. You have NO IDEA. Hahah. I felt like I was milking a stone. I don't own many glamours, so it was really difficult to pick an outfit.
So, I wanted to send THIS picture, but there weren't enough sahagins on it. Oh well =\
My alt shots x_X;;;
Dammit, no Sylphs. Well, it's a good thing that nobody went with the Sylphs; else my judging would be more biased and would have skewed more towards them. :)
This was going to be my picture:
I really liked it XD so here ya go
I'm still trying to decide which picture to use for the Memories of Eorzea screenshot contest and I've just finished going through the thousands I've taken and narrowed it down to 8. I really need feedback outside of my own head and you guys are the only screenshot takers I know but I don't want to clog the thread with offtopic stuff. What should I do?
By the way, thank you so much for your feedback for the competition so far!
Edit: I decided rather than waste space with another post to just stick these here for now. I'll gladly remove them if you aren't happy with me doing so!
Will probably re-shoot for non event version but aspect of ARR mentioned is Story.
Aspect: The beautiful effects and designs to be mentioned.
Aspect: The beastmen and all of the wonderful lore.
Aspect: The fun events.
Aspect: I'm a huge Hunts fan.
Aspect: The beautiful music (I particularly like the music in this zone) and graphics and landscapes and the way they worked in 1.0 lore.
Aspect: I love Ul'dah.
Aspect: The beautiful sky and the elements from other FF games, plus the glamour system.
I have my own nitpicks for each of these but I feel like I've gotten to where I need outside opinions to truly eliminate some.
My first suggestion would be to whittle out any of them where you aren't present!
Scenic vistas are gorgeous, but they're a dime-a-dozen. You want your submission to really stand out and be unique, and that includes having you in it!
I'm also really biased toward your Amalj'aa shot... Lizardman Snuggles! ;-;
I would personally go with your entry for this week for the contest. Anyone can take gorgeous landscapes (I've seen a lot of repeats over at xivwallpapers.tumblr.com), but the shot of you huddled up next to the Amal'jaa is pretty unique.
As for this week's ENTM: Stephen Fairbrook and I had the EXACT same idea and I went through at least 200 shots trying to get an angle that I was happy with at that darn camp! I don't have my favorite outtakes available because I'm at Anime Central and on my laptop this weekend, but I have quite a few that ended up with a similar pose. I love the ixali story the most out of the beast tribe so I knew I immediately wanted to do a shot there. The big problem is that you can't go on the lower platforms. One of the pieces of feedback I and others have gotten is making sure that the character "pops" from the screen, so that's why I ultimately went with the up close shot in bright light.
Thank you for responding! T7T I really love that scenic shot at Tranquil but you guys are right. I'm afraid the Amalj'aa one won't stick out enough on first glance or sans backstory but with multiple votes for it it must be the better choice.
I've been horrendously busy driving back and forth from Wasilla to Seward every day so trying to squeeze in entries for this and that are just whoa.
First, aaah! I'm at ACen, too! I'm in the alley at table F10, if you wanna pop by and say hi. :) (I have a dinosaur with a witch hat on my table - it's kinda hard to miss. XD)
Second, I actually tried a pose similar to yours as well, but my height made it awkward. There's some neat spots, but dang Lala height made it a weird place to work for shots.
Oh! Oh! Come to my panel at 8:45 PM! Final Fantasy MMOs! I'm even going to be including a bit on screenshot tips from all the stuff I've learned since this round started :D
Advertise for us!! Haha
Ooo! I will see how coherent I am. XD Will try to make it tho!
See if you can get someone to record it for you so we can watch it on youtube!
I'll post this here too, just in case any one missed it!
For anyone who doesn't know, we will be having a ENTM Meet Up on the 25th at 6pm CENTRAL USA time, meeting on the Coeurl Server in Limsa Lominsa. We will be premiering Episode 0 of ENTM Youtube Edition 2, saying good-bye to Rongi Pongi, and also be giving away a 1 month subscription to FFXIV and a custom drawing of your character from Adeline, winner of Cycle 3.
Hope to see you there!
