Ugh! I hope your stomach ache wasn't something bad. :(

When you join Zurvan EX farms as the off healer and the WHM stands there and watches the tank die
I mean, we recovered, then went on to get more than one clear, but damn. A simple "can you main heal?" would have set expectations better than just letting me know by....not healing.
This happened with more than one WHM over the weekend. When I actually got a WHM who main healed and gave me time to dps, it was amazing. Bruce Le, you were awesome. I hope you get birb soon.
Back when I was leveling WHM, I stopped playing it for a couple weeks. Friends ask if I wanted to do leveling. Since they were both going DPS and my tanks are leveled, I opted to go on WHM and get some EXP. Problem was... I forget I not only didn't finish the quests to unlock Regen, but I was now high enough to get queued into Stone Vigil. Healing that with level 29-32 gearing was an experience. Friends found it hilarious while I apologized to the tank, who was an absolute sweetheart. Ended up cracking jokes and memes most of the run. Looking back, it was sort of fun because I seriously had to work to keep the tank up. He initially did smaller pulls to help, but started grabbing more since I was handling it fine. I wouldn't intentionally gimp myself like that, but it was fun.
This happened a long time ago.
I ran keeper of the lake with a random group through duty finder. I was trying to get the clear to progress through the story.
During the midgardsormr fight, the other three players kept getting hit by aoes. Though I tried saving them with benediction and swiftcast and setting up regen and medica 2, many times it would be too late or not enough. Because that fight is very intensive when it comes to movement, it was tough trying to distribute healing spells to all three players at a constant pace.
We wiped three times. The dps would go down first, then tank, and then one of the dragons would kill me. The rest of the players blamed it on me. They said I was a terrible healer, and they voted to dismiss me from the duty.
I was bummed out. I was never kicked before, and it made me feel like I really was a bad player.
I registered for it again as white mage. With the next random group I was paired with, we cleared it just fine without any problems. I was able to weave in dps during the Midgardsormr fight too.
It made me realize that the problem was not with me, but with the random players I was paired with first. Maybe they had lag and that's why they couldn't dodge aoes on time, or maybe they didn't see the aoes due to tunnel vision or something. I learned to not doubt myself so much, and to not get discouraged by negative experiences like these.
That's not really an ''horror'' story, in fact I was pretty upset, but I was farming A10N the other day to help a friend who wanted some items on his tank as an AST.
I got a WHM cohealer that purposely died at the start of the fight and told me :
''You are the OP healer so you should be able to solo heal just fine :D'' and made fun on ASTs mains in general.
Of course, it's A10N so this was really easy, but I don't understand this kind of behavior at all. She left before I could even talk to her.
Hey, at least my friend got two loots on the same run !
I was doingA11S as ast in noct. I do precast my sheilding for upcoming whirlwinds and cast helios.
Anyways this shit goon from moogle claimed that i did not help with aoe heal like hell I DID.That goon kept dying alot before our fight went off. So i shielded that goon for ekstra defense always and claimed that i did no heal?&?!! I had a whm as co healer she was good. The only error was the goons death and vul stacks. Shit i was so pissed for being blamed?? Like ugh loldrg i precast my sheild and the whole party survive. And i had to use lightspeed once bcuse the goon didnt stack for cure3 on 2nd e.d.d. For dps photon+double wind WHICH WHERE I DID PRECAST MY SHEILD BCUSE IT WEARS OFF WHENEVER U GET HIT THATS WHY I PRE CAST. Lol. I sound angry but im just irritating for getting blame cuse ur own stupid mistakes of dying + 637464 vul.
Hello
Healed Stone Vigil yesterday and wow never had a rough time keeping a tank up till then. I was on my scholar, husband on his black mage, a bard and the tank was a dark knight he pulls and it was ok for a bit but then he got more mobs and holy cow his hp was playing ping pong or something i was spam healing him my fairy was spam healing him i was using the one that puts a shield on him and he was still dropping like a ton of bricks he died on trash once idk if it was because he pulled to much or something but anyways made me think it was something i did wrong but not sure (also im still pretty new to this game so any impute would be nice)
The shield is adloquium ("adlo").
General advice is that your fairy should be set to Obey so you can manually trigger her other skills. Assuming you were using Eos, for example, trigger Fey Illumination then Whispering Dawn to put a good regen on everyone. Fey Covenant can also be useful against all those elementals and the aevis aoe attacks.
Once you get to 45 you'll pick up Sacred Soil which can also be used on those larger pulls to reduce the damage that tank takes.
nevertheless...
stone vigil can really be tricky now and then.
there are Dungeons, i heal with my new AST (ilvl 120 leveling) with no Problem. I can DPS most of the Time but Stone Vigil gives me Hard Times everytime init.
Last night on Dusk Vigil, my party tried blaming me because the tank kept wiping. Keep in mind, we haven't even hit the first boss yet.
Anyway, Stoneskin and Protect are up. I wait for tank to pull aggro. He does, I throw out Medica 2 for the party and Regen for the tank so that I can safely DPS.
Well, tank wipes, even after some Cure 2 tosses. Alright, now for the next pull I do Divine Seal buffed Medica 2 and Regen for tank. Seems fine, suddenly tank wipes AGAIN.
I then proceed to get blamed by the entire party for not holding the tank up. I politely stated that if the tank can't survive these regular pulls with Medica 2 and Regen on him, I will just take my leave. I hated leaving, but felt so satisfied at the same time. ;D
To be honest I'm not sure for CDs....I didn't think to pay close attention since we hadn't even made it to the first boss. Tank was WAR by the way.
Gear wise, not over level but not under aside from necklace. I've played that dungeon numerous times with no issue which just irked me catching the blame for an inexperienced tank. I gladly apologize when I know I'm at fault, but this was not one of those times in my opinion.
So, I get Stone Vigil normal for mentor roulette with a sprout tank.
Surprisingly, he was fine, a little rocky going in but very open to suggestions when I gave advice. He wasn't the problem. The problem came from the Dps with us. They didn't do it intentionally (hoping it wasn't) but during the final hallway toward the last boss, the BLM gets seen by the enemies in the side room so we now have 5 Ice Sprites and 3 Aevis mobs and I unfortunately rip hate from the tank so I go down. The tank then just starts hailing down the hall back to the 1st boss room but eventually everyone but the MNK is dead. We respawn and go meet up with the MNK and as I cast Protect, I immediately get aggro but nothing is attacking me or even in sight. Apparently, the previous mob was still aggro'd to the MNK and were still on their jog back from wherever the tank died. Before I could say anything, the Tank continued down the hall and sure enough the hoard comes back and rekts us again.
I died a little inside that day
Playing as a PLD, having to heal the healer because they can't dodge Extreme Caution, and keep getting caught by Griffon wide AOE move in in Wall Dungeon. Decent geared, refuses to sprint even though they were a mage. What is even worse I ended up with them x2 in a row O.o
Taking a peek at the Healer Roles forums on the past few days. Truly horrific.
Bossy scrub pld in A9N, eats concussion 6 times in a row. I mention it, and he basically tells me to STFU. says I'm being carried and I'm trash.
So, I stop spam healing him and switch to raid/OT healing. He's dead in 3 GCD. Gets raised, dies again. We wipe when Faust hits the fire because DPS is too low.
Remember who is keeping you alive when you bitch out a healer.
It's like the quickest way to make a Healer hate your guts. Die because of your own stupidity then blame the Healer for it. Had this with a Bard yesterday and his DPS was awful but he was German and the others were German so they auto take his side over the not German. If you die because not moving I don't want to see "pfft" in chat, you can eat floor for all I care for the rest of the run.
Had a Dun Scaith run to forget this last week. Co healer was a WHM with around 16k health so just enough to really enter the raid. I think to myself, no problem as long as they avoid what can be avoided and even a death or two on the run won't be bad. Even if they are new they should still be able to help heal through most of it right? Nope, they ate floor constantly and were not the only ones but I was rezzing them 2x for every one of the DPS so I eventually had to cut my losses and focus on the oens that died less often. I got to use LB3 at least once on every boss in there as we continually lost over half the party to avoidable mechanics... Just to lose half of them within 12 seconds afterwards. It was wonderful that they felt so inclined to spread out so very few of my AOE heals could hit more than three at a time too. One of the DPS complained about my use of LB3 on the first boss saying it was a waste with 5 of my alliance on the ground. I spent most of the fights working hard to not go OOM from rezzing and trying to keep people up. I even tried to speak to them but they were more inclined to just push on without talking much. Then my co-healer decided to deliberately lock themselves out for Diabolos at the end so I got to solo heal it. Usually not a problem if people avoid most of the avoidable stuff. That day, not so much. More LB3 to keep my alliance going and we managed to just barely clear it as I ran OOM. I've never went OOM like that since reaching 60. I told them I was going to go cry in a corner after that run. #basicmechanicsarehard
Was helping a friend run his story Ramuh HM for MSQ. Main tank kept getting the blue orbs because "he couldn't trust the healers 70% of the time," when me and my friend were healing. He spent most of the battle at 70%+ HP bc regens and fairy so I was like ??????????
When Rolling Thunder comes, there were no orbs to take cause he was taking them all. Tank continues to blame the people with Rolling Thunder for taking too many orbs and screwing him over, when it was obviously the other way around.
Duty Finder pls
So I was farming A12N to get better gear. Anyways in one of the those runs I get paired with an AST, I am SCH. The AST started saying that I should be kicked because they would be better off with two AST since their shield was better.. Needless to say that I actually did get kicked.. Not really an horror story.
Way back before heavensward, I was leveling Thaumaturge and all 3 of my party members died to the last boss in cutters cry. I had to heal, DPS and tank the boss. I had fun doing it. I killed it, the end :)
One time i felt my pressure up to the throat Hellluuuuuu...
Hellluuuuuu tanks and healers
Hellluuuuuu
Hellluuuuuu
Hellluuuuuu
I thought the AST shield was better unless the SCH gets a crit?
Aspected Benefic in Noct is 250 potency + 10% = 275 potency. The shield is 170% of that or 467.5 potency.
Adlo is 300 potency. The shield is 100% of that normally .. so 300 potency .. but is doubled on a crit.
I feel your pain, that healer was an idiot.
But you never failed in my eyes, you're always doing your best, you'll always be my nr1 healer because you like to challange yourself and grow all the time, but even as you are now I can't think of anyone that is a better healer than you!
thank you... :)
Came back after a few months and decided to run Dun Scaith. It'll be fine I said-
Load in and we have 6 Bards (nice dps selection DF) and I think "nice, loads of foes"! We pull the first guy and-
.
.
.
No foes. Fabulous. After about 45sec-1min we FINALLY get foes (from the other single bard in the alliance), things are looking up as you can see. Because I haven't run Dun Scaith in a few months I fumble and die, co heal raises me and I ask for ballad since my shroud was on CD, silence. I have a healing macro asking for ballad (with auto translate) and annoying sounds mind you but no matter how many times I used the macro I got silence, sweet silence. This became a running theme in the dungeon. Our alliance fumbles to the end after our amazing performance on the second last boss who's name I can't spell and the icing on the cake to my story happens. At the final boss our party does a miserable job of living, I don't understand, I'm spamming heals and raises till the cows come home but who knew a group of lvl 60s couldn't dodge basic mechanics. After a while I begin to cotton on, sure the bards are all ignoring my pleas for MP but surly my co heal is doing their best to keep this party up- clerics stance, stone iii. Amazing, half the alliance is dead but I guess clerics stance stone iii is the only solution to the problem. Long story short I get in a party of 6 bards, realise they're all mute and have a co healer who can't heal. Keep it classy DF.
Realised my April fools pic clearly portrays my emotions towards my party in this story.
thanks for the tip
don't care randoms - care the ones who are important to you - like your tank-friend (its Brem obviously? ^^).
randoms often are just pointing on others if they fail their own tasks, I wouldn't give a fuck...
especially as healer/tank if you know what your are doing (and it seems you are a setted healer anyway) -
don't even let such kind of comments make you start doubting yourself – smile at those guys and move on :)
NoctAST's shields are indeed better, but saying another AST was needed because of the better shields is a laughable concept, since it is implying that SCH's shields hold a party back from clearing content. This is obviously hilariously untrue, obviously because SCHs have been clearing A12S for literal months now, and the fact that this other AST was using the shields as an excuse to kick a SCH from A12N is just... I'm pretty sure that person was either trolling or just unimaginably stupid. Probably both.
The people who actually said "yes" to the Vote Dismiss are even more stupid, though. Like, holy shit there is nothing inside their skull.
