My prediction: They'll announce Geomancer as the next healer/buffer/debuffer class. They will announce Hrothgar as male-only and Viera as female-only. The forums will detonate because everyone is expecting Dancer and we'll be getting two gender-locked races. I know these sound like far-fetched predictions, but to be fair.... it's just as likely as any other theory running since we have no evidence one way or another.

Real talk: The Geomancer is more wishful thinking on my end... *crossed fingers*

A wee bit OT, but Chemist, Geomancer, Orator... I'd like any of those if they freed up DNC as a dex based dps... unless they have some interesting combo-based healing mechanic planned.

Meanwhile, here's me vainly hoping for a Void-mage inspired Necromancer since they seem to prefer keeping BLM focused on the elemental side of things. :D

i'd love geomancer!!!!Or maybe they bring in green mage (debuff/buff healer job, maybe specialized in hot's like a druid in wow?), presented by a male viera(maybe thats the reason why the held off male viera), because green mage was a viera-only job :O

but honestly tho, pretty sure its dancer (the leaks have kind of been quite accurate), i just hope, the animations won't be too feminine :(

It seemed like it would take forever for the Tokyo Fanfest to happen, and now we're suddenly here. It's exciting but kinda scary too. We're finally gonna find out if we get male Viera or not.

My prediction: Viera turn out to be female-only, and Hrothgar is revealed as the new, male-only race. Hrothgar will be a race of Byakko-like muscular men with lion ears and tails.

My wish: Male Viera are revealed, and they are tall and muscular handsome bunny men. Hrothgar are revealed as the second new race and both males and females are playable.

I'm going to try to not get my hopes up. I'd rather be pleasantly surprised than sorely disappointed. I'm already expecting the worst, which for me is gender-locked Viera and Hrothgar, with Hrothgar being a bestial race.

This thread has been entertaining and it was cool seeing other people's ideas and opinions. No matter what happens, it'll be fun to see the responses and reactions to this upcoming reveal.

This whole Hrothgar thing may have been just a red herring for all this time. Remember how easily convinced people were of the "grinch" leak for smash?

Having said that, I am all for having hulking cat people.

Prediction: We get tall bishounen males to match the female viera we've already seen and hrothgar are a smaller subrace of viera based on lionhead rabbits.

Night (for me) before Fanfest Me: Wants male viera, and male and female hrothgar.

My wallet: plz no.

I might make good on cycling between them (male viera) and male Au Ra, if they are playable.

There's a good amount of gender-locked things in this game. I feel like this is a natural, if a bit extreme, conclusion to that road we were already on.

Something i noticed about the 4 lords yesterday the humanoid forms are all based on Elezen just modified so maybe Hrothgar will have elf ears too if they are styled after Byakko.

Coming back into this thread just to give my best wishes to the campers here so that we get that which would make most people happy and the others can at least live with. (So, ideally, two races with both genders avaiable each and the two Viera-Subraces giving muscular buns and slim/feminine buns. And fierce female Hrothgar.)

Breaking news : Viera cancelled because people complained. Have a new GATE in Gold Saucer instead !

I never posted my theory here, so, I copypaste my own stuff from reddit. You all remember Moombas from FF VIII, right?

"Calling it now - we were all blind. Happy Bunnies are obviously male Viera. That's why no one has seen them before, no one except such a form. When Viera come of age and are male, they turn into Happy Bunnies. Think of them similar as of the Moombas in FF VIII which were also another evolution state of a completely different race."

It wouldn't be difficult to justify at all.
Male Viera would be a pretty momentus thing, they have a kind of mystery that's been hyped up over several titles, they're famous for their absence.
Whatever they design them to look like, they won't be able to please everyone, there's been too much build up, and everyone has their own vision of them. So to preserve lore, and their mistique, and everyone's own personal vision of them, they don't release male Viera but we get Hrothgar instead.

Because Hrothgar will have been made to fill the void, tailored specifically to not have females, and because of limited dev time/resources.

In this case, he shouldnt of showed male bun artwork during FATE in tokyo. I believe its the reason he didnt want to show them in first place, it would give people a rough sketch how they would look like - so when people request Viera as new race, they expect male too.

If that was his vision already 4 years ago, I would of asked him why he didnt just skip Viera completely and work on a full new race with M +F version.
And if he tells me because people requested it now for 4 years, then same applies that people been asking for M+F playable Viera race.
