On a good note, finally got my spear tonight! We had been going for weeks with no spear drops, so tonight I decided to I change my character from a Highlander to a Roegadan and sure enough the spear dropped! Coincidence? I think not, Roegadans gets drops!

One of your earlier hints was "rotation changes after full thrust until blood for blood falls off". in that space is about 5-6 sec where I guess you could use a couple abilities... do you just pop I'm another impulse drive and disembowel(280 potency I think?) then carry on from heavy thrust like normal. Probably wrong but when I tried this last night I broke 750 dps with no pots over the bfb period. Think I had food up though. Havent got t9 down yet so no drops so people would probs get better numbers than me.

*730 sorry. I did crit all three jumps so Iguess that would boost the number a bit. Any thought s?

Ha finally it begin to be interesting :) you got the basics, now its time to toy with things. Just remember than you can skip some stuff you would do at that point, because its not just bfb that is concerned but also another buff, and push forward / tweak until you find what could be the most damaging output.

Now I think you also get that, depending of the fight it can be quite tricky to pull it off and thats the beauty of the whole thing ^^

Also regardin what you said about crit hits its exactly that. It ultimately depend of the number of crit hits you ll do in that timeframe. If you got a quite solid amount of you ll reach a pretty stupid number, even more so by addin the pot.

Its just that like, now you have to find how to fit everything in to not have any single downtime that would delay your next move by one second (that animation lockout nobody like) or you d be off timing regardin bfb

Unfortunately I have no way to check myself a I'm on PS4, and one of the PC players in my static normally checks for us. But here's what I've gathered so far:

Full Thrust->Impulse Drive->?
He said it involves another buff other than BFB. That leaves:
Dis
CT
Phleb
HT

Also said it's more difficult in some fights, which sticks in my mind that impulse drive is the thing after FT. CT takes too long to recast before BFB so I think that narrows it down to HT/Phleb/Dis after Impulse. Can someone try those in any order (HT->ID/Phleb or ID->HT/Phleb/Dis). Trying to think of other ideas along those guidelines. Anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong at all.


EDIT: Forgot about Internal Release, try doing BFB before Dis and IR before CT and try it. BFB timer should be the same? Eh, not sure when adding X-Pot in, so I wanna get some opinions lol.

Most end game FCs stream their t6-t9 runs or streamed it at one point after their initial kill.

Any case where it's not streamed is because they don't want to bother to do it as opposed to "hiding" strats or improvements. All savage coil videos were posted after the down and improvement on the strat won't ever be posted because no one does it twice. As soon as lucrezia got world first t9 savage, a lot of groups started streaming their t9 savage attempts.

I mean, some people might find it distasteful to come to a thread about sharing information and give out hints and then go all it has to stay in the fc or it's not being shared because we want to use it as some form of recruitment but whatever, it's not that big of a deal. It might help some DRGs still.

I didn't "mean" that directly, its just what Vlad said : its his findings and he didnt want them to be publicly shared like that. Note that I totally tweaked what he found but still, its simply respectin what he wanted in the very first place.

For that last bit it was just meant to tease and add fire on top of the existing one, I think it worked :p

The fact remains, you had a discussion with ONE person for the most part, and you call out an entire country over i, by saying North Americans are not known for being very smart. I do not give one shit about your rotation, i cared not for this entire argument until you blamed a entire continent. You know what you did, i even understand you even though you said " you are not very fluent" and that does not bother me one bit. Learn to say what you want against a individual, not resorting to insulting an entire nation.

I am done with that part of the conversation, but it truly is no wonder the main posters of this thread have not spoken in quite some time. As a place to share information, and ask questions, it really has gone down hill. According to our healer's last recording, we scored 6.45 on Rafflesia and 9.55 on Avatar. He claims those are our best times. If I had to guess, it's because DPS tend to slow down on the last phases of both fights. We still need to refine cooperation during the burning phase (we used to do the normal strategy until we had too much DPS for that one) and A Field management (we cleared it maybe a month ago). I can't really "blame" the gear, considering all of us are at ilvl 106, more or less. Definitely enough. Do you remember how much did you skip in that T8?

Not sure if it's IR cause even if you move it to before CT it's still gonna cover the same moves ..just further on (I think). I'm gonna go with a double impulse drive after the first FT..hahaha dat potency.

There "is one" that happen at 2.04, then at 3.39 but its not what I'd call a flaw in any way since that everything is on sync pretty much. The key here is to never get animation locked with anything when you re about to reach these two timers or DiS will simply fall off.

Tad more exigent than the normal opener and rotation that let you screw up here and then since like you re always at 4 - 5 secs left on DiS before renewin, which wont be the case here, you ll have a tighter timeframe but will always be right on time to refresh what have to be.

That's what I absolutely love with dragoon, on top of havin the possibility to toy with the tools, everything have to be smooth or you re screwed.

I haven't figured out anything substantially better then what I currently use, but Dis is higher potency then ID, since the combo is already started, why not ID-Dis instead of ID-ID.

Also, how are you guys determining the effect of X Pots of Strength? My simple math suggests it's around a 15% buff at our current STR levels. (like my str in party is 544, +84 is approx 15% increase to physical attack potency.. This scales so if you have lower str it's a higher increase [up to 20%], or if you have higher str it's a lower increase [which makes sense]).. Thoughts?

I cant believe you guys are still trying to figure this out. There is no way that an added move into the rotation during b4b duration is going increase overall dps without extra ss that is not needed. Turn 8 for example, roughly 4 - 5 blood durations(so the ability you are using could be used max 4-5 times), 80-100 seconds of the buff during the fight. There is nothing that is going be more effective then repply ct and phle , ogcds, and hopefully a ls full. Ive seen numbers posted by syg, i destroy them. Sure maybe adding one ability in then intial burst to make it higher is possible, but to say to consistently do that evertime would be overall dps lose for the amount of det and crt lost for the ss to maintain an extra abilty during the 20 second duration is crazy. Please stop giving in people. qq

I believe it's more of a question of whether . I believe the earlier assumptions are that the damage multipliers don't stack. Thus if you have HT buff + BFB + Dis on target, you're getting a 10% + 30% + 10% = 50% increase in damage.

Even if based on the assumption that they do stack, then you're probably looking at something like this:

HT Buff: 100% + 10% = 110%, add BFB buff 110% X 130% = 143%, add dis debuff = 143% X 110% = 157.3%

As you can see, the difference between both assumptions is 7% out of a rough 50% increase, so the variance is only barely 10% in terms of increase in damage so we're not too particular about do we need to stack all damage bonuses together. BUT of course please keep HT buff up at all times, that's a given basic priority for DRG.

The difference comes into play when you add IR and Life Surge into the picture. When you increase your chances to crit, you would want to MAXIMISE the DMG+ you have at that moment.

When to LS

I usually save LS for BFB. The trade off is as follows (480s timeframe, assumption first LS is nearly with 7s remaining on BFB buff for practical reasons)

2 100% crits on BFB FT, 5 20% crits on normal FT
versus
6 100% crit BFB FTs.

Because of the fact that your first LS is so late into your first BFB, the 20s CD difference between Life Surge and BFB only gives you 1 extra LS on the 7th BFB, which is 9 minutes into the fight. Verdict, impractical to not save LS for BFB.

When to Jump, SSD and PS

Jump CD 40s, meaning you have a jump during BFB and another one in between nicely (BFB CD 80s). Verdict: Always use when CD is up
SSD CD 90s, if you were to hold SSD for every BFB, you're losing 70s of the CD on your first save. Verdict: Always use when CD is up as opportunity cost to hold too high

PS CD 90s,
1. If you tie in with SSD, the CD is just nice, everytime u have a PS up, your next OGCD is SSD, however SSD potency is 30 lower than jump AKA loss of 60 potency
2. If you tie in with Jump, you might need to hold 10s on Jump which may affect the Jump coordination with BFB, or you hold PS for 30s.
Verdict: Personally I tie in with Jump as there's many mechanics in boss fights that easily make you lose that 10s cause you can't jump precisely every 40s, which makes it extremely hard to tie it in with BFB. But pretty much up to your own preference.

As your str goes up it becomes less and less beneficial... However the time when it would becomes useless is very far ways. Even if your str was 840, and the pot was still only giving +84, thats still a 10% buff to str, which is still decent. Although when str lvls get that high I'd like to think SE would have come out with stronger consumables. I think that is what you were getting at, right?

Most situations you use your oGCDs on CD. Meaning, you don't hold them at all (the one exception is Life Surge...unless something happens to prevent you from using it on a BFB FT, always use it while BFB is up on FT) This includes Power Surge/Jump; always use Jump when it comes back, Power Surge to Jump (or Spineshatter if that's the way your CDs happen to fall) when you can...and obviously hold PS if you don't have Jump or SSD ready to go...

Takin all the mines on the right side for example, including the far away one. Theres nothing worse for dps to drop as a melee and you know it so unless you find a magical way to keep everything up when you got to do mines + disposin of your auto attacks I don't really see a way to maintain dps. On top its just totally random. You also only saw one parse ;) When I got to take 2 mines one after the other I'm just droppin, on dummy I'm around 460 without food or pot or party buff at the accuracy cap for T8 and 9 over 5 minutes so believe me, its not because I'm not capable to maintain it that I'm a bit low :p

I prefer turn 6 to compare dps because you can use absolutely everything as a dragoon (quite the fan of doomspike on hornet + bulb + rafflesia after usin on the hornet), just need to have the same downtime (same numbers of devours total)

Also, ido all mines on right sideas well and i set the allagon field tower off. Also 2nd priorty for binds (not that big of deal) and im backup tether as well.(also not a big deal). Honestly Syg this is what you should have said from the beginning... You found a more potent "burst" rotation. The problem is, if you're using it as an "opening" rotation your probably sacrificing buffed dots and more overall dps, for a short initial opening burst. In certain situations, I could see that "burst" being effective, like during a T9 golem or dragon phase.

you were like me then..finish the first full thrust and think "still got all that time left on bfb..seems a waste using it on heavy thrust"..makes sense to do a couple more buffed high potency moves then reapply heavy thrust and carry on with the normal rot.

So if I had 6 seconds left on Blood after HT falls( which I dont cause I use blood right after HT which ensures it already gets used with a ID in opener ) You're saying that using double ID might be a valid option. So let me use a 180 potency move with a 20% buff up( maybe two ID's if you had 6 seconds) or I can use a 170 potency move(reapply HT) with a 15% and 20% buff, really could even use two. Your theory makes no sense.
2. If you have enough tp to use doom spike, more power to you. I prefer my bards to not sing unless its foe. Plus its not often you see Bulb bee and raff at one time.

If you have the time in your initial burst, you can follow up with:

ID -> ID
180 potency/gcd
140 TP
~1.3 Pot/TP

ID -> Dis
200 potency/gcd
130 TP
~1.5 Pot/TP

Phleb -> ID
237.5 or 250 potency/gcd <-depending on server ticks and the initial Phleb is clipped to 220/245 potency.
160 TP
~1.4 or ~1.6 Pot/TP

None of which accommodates BfB boosts.

With Phleb -> ID you'd essentially be getting a 24/27 second long BfB enhanced Phlebotomize, again, depending on server ticks. However that causes some changes in the rotation for a bit but eventually just rights itself by the end. The initial Phleb is clipped to 220/245 potency.

ID -> ID doesn't seem worthwhile, less damage for more 10 TP and an enemy turn during the second ID is always a potential problem.

ID -> Dis is the highest burst.

Phleb -> ID does more overall, I think? but it messes with the rotation for a while and cost and extra 30 TP.

Feel free to figure out whatever you want from this.

I did find a place where this could be useful..in t9 before the double dives in p1..you should get your full burst up again before then..and when it's finished you've still got a few sec left on bfb and time for about 2gcd before she jumps off. Not worth applying heavy thrust or dots there because of the amount of time she's in the air so double id or Id-dis is handy there to shove in a bit of extra damage before she takes off. Maybe but not that significant but every little helps ^^

So I need help maximizing damage on T7. I've been fluctuating between 310-350 DPS with a good round of 390 (wiped at 60%). I'm currently i105 w/ i110 Liberator, i110 Astrum pants, i110 soldiery acc and then i100 soldiery clothes+Weathered gloam ring. I start off with HT->BFB->ID->IR->Dis->Sweep->PS->CT->Jump->Phleb->SSD->TT->VT->LS->FT and then do the rest of the rotation regularly popping cooldowns immediately except for life surge (save for BFB). I save Dragonfire Dive to hit Melusine and any add that pops up (Renaud that spawned next to Melu that liter picked up/Lamia gets close enough to Melu), but after a certain point, it just kinda drops off. I know the fight is RNG dependent and it's never guarenteed, but I just want some tips from experienced DRGs as this is the farthest turn I'm at so far. Always room for improvement haha.

Honestly, the last thing you want in t7 is high dps unless everybody else in your party is completely terrible. I have to sheath my weapon and stand around in that fight so much it is boring. That fight is straight Mechanics based.

2. It also depends if ur OT tank the first 3 adds just besides Melusine, and which spot ur OT decides to tank the last add
3. Try to hit boss when ur OT still hasn't finished positioning
4. Sounds like u saving gap closers for reducing downtimes, and somehow u seemed didn't used reverse elusive?
5. Heavily dependant on SKS, how many seconds left before u turn back from shriek?

The only time you really want to push for DPS is during first add phase, archers phase, and after last add phase.

My raid encounters huge downtimes waiting for voice or shriek to phase properly cause everyone is a DPS chaser, call it DPS pride or smth.

U need to push your DPS to make sure you are able to down each of the three adds comfortably before the next one spawns for the first add phase.
To clear archers ASAP, each archer down reduces the damage taken by party member marked, great service to the healers imho.
Last add is a straight LB3 instagib or LB2 to 30%. If your tank is not able to hold the spot properly for you to LB, wait for the first petrification from the add, then LB, so that you don't get caught casting LB during petrification which can result in the LB missing totally.
After the last add, it's just dealing with voice shriek tail petri, which is a phase where you should be maximising damage to clear.

You're on the right track as far as DPS goes. You'll notice not many people mention T7 as DPS comparison due to a lot of random waiting for mechanics to happen in order to phase properly.
