They could always put a CD on how long you can shout from your last shout..might discourage people from using that over the search feature.

This is their own fault they pushed everyone to Ul'dah for so long now, it will interesting to see if the new marketwards features will alleviate this at all.Quote:

If more characters concentrate on Ul'dah we can't handle just with server specs alone therefore we have put the restriction on new characters right now.
(Even with 2.0 with much better optimized code/optimized thread if the character concentrates a lot in one zone and hit's the physical limitations it will end up in same situation. 2.0 will have a lot more space for maximum limit)
Try giving Gridania and Limsa more unique content next time SE :P
One simple solution is to give Ul'dah two channels until 2.0 to spread the population between two instances. (Rokien would love this :P)

True, I said this also but problem with this one is you have to constantly check for this one so I suggested on another JP thread although this feature will be gone in 2.0 due to content finder and all that.
1. Make a feature where when new recruitment is put up it will show up on the log - it will show event type, comment, class/jobs needed - and you can click on a section of that log which will bring the PT search screen to send /tell to recruiter or to join that event.
2. Make a text filter for those who don't want to see the recruitment message on/off
3. Make a filter to filter out categories you don't care like OTHER since some JP linkshells post Linkshell recruits using this search feature .... which is retarded imo...
4. To make it possible to search/join if you have that required job even if you're currently on another class/job (like while you're crafting)
But since this feature is going away don't know if devs want to even put a staff to work to make this possible
Reinheart do you know if WAR will still be able to Tank? I'll be cool with them getting nerfed, if i'm not forced to play PLD the entire time. I would prefer having two Tanks as an option instead of continuing with one.
I don't see a problem with that since you only have to press accept once to refresh the search results. They could make it autorefresh itself every few seconds, but i think that would raise the load on the server too much.
To clarify, I mean the new search system, not the one from party menu.
Would be nice now if I could decently parry without Foresight so I can use my freaking Overpower.
IMO player search on the other hand is much harder to use, or I'm missing something.
- Party > Party Recruit can make auto parties with job/class you want - People join from Party > Party Search
- Player Search - Can only search for players currently with that class/job at specific level, can't join events people are recruiting etc. (or can you??)
Marauder/WAR issue is simple, all the combos do the same amount of damage about(from what I saw when fighting Ifrit) but the front combo is the most efficient in recast and TP cost.
Front combo is a simple recast of 10/30/30 second, side combo is 20/30/60 and back combo is 30/80. Then the TP cost to start each combo is 1k/1.5k/1.5k. What makes the back combo even more horrid is the ridiculous animation lock you suffer when using the ability, it just doesn't make it an efficient AOE like Steel Cyclone currently is.
I think one adjustment that might be interesting but it may be asking for to much is if they made Steel cyclone a front and back combo, however the combo only works if you have the proper stance active
-Change Steel Cyclone to a 45 second rest-
Front Combo=Rampage active:increases enmity gains lowers dmg and decreased recast by 15 second
Back Combo=Berserk Active:Increases Dmg/Crit hit rate resets Berserk effect increase recast by 15
So perhaps combo wise the recast should be
Front:10/30/30
Side:20/30/60
Back:30/40/60
Have the back attack Steel Cyclone do the amount of dmg it does now with a front attack combo and make the front combo one a means to gain AOE enmity rather then something that deals heavy dmg. Paladin have War Drum so they can easily gain AOE enmity whenever they block and it's up along with AOE flash, so if it's possible to make Steel Cyclone both a DD/tank ability depending on which combo you use it from I think it would balance them out properly.
Whatever changes they make though, I just hope it doesn't make the idea of a War tank obsolete.
Party recruit is the free player looking for a group to join, Player Search is for a leader looking for members, so you can't directly join anything through the player search.
On the WAR adjustments, they will still be able to tank because that is their main function, but it looks like they are making the DD side more enticing as well as maybe increasing the recast on Steel Cyclone? (Which is understandable, that WS is just too good). WAR just really has no downsides at all currently. It looks like both PLD and WAR are getting boosts to their DD side, PLD apparently getting more than WAR since they need to remain competitive.
PLD is getting more HP, which they really needed, as long as better defense/blocking so it will be a bit more balanced as PLD won't be too far behind in damage but will be able to take more of it.
It looks good so far, though, I have a few LS people that would like to PLD and a few WARs that would like to DD or play another class on occasion.

It's pretty odd I thought the chat servers were separate from the game servers, thats why you get chat even when you are R0ing.
Oh well, too bad they can't get zone chat up and running at the least, I can't say I'm a fan of global chat either.
to be honest i don't think the "filter it out of you don't like it" works with something big as a global chat, if everyone uses it to form a group for any kind of content and, like now, mostly ignores recruit and search you will cripple yourself severely if you filter it out, so its not really an option by then...

I mean the implementation of these adjustments will determine the answer, but all logical conclusions = yes, I don't think that these minor adjustments will break Warrior as a tank. Combine them with the buffs to PLD, and the question becomes which will be better and by how much? We'll have to wait and see.
Yep agree with you but LlenCoram seemed to not like global chat so for those type of people can just filter them out... but they will have to rely on their linkshell, friends. Majority would most likely keep it up imo.
Yeah I also had bad experience from another MMO that was annoying as hell. - Once you log in that game all you see is wall of text of people chatting on global chat channel... lol
Maybe just add the douche bags who abuse the chat to blacklist and keep the good people in or something.
If all they do is nerf Steel Cyclone, WAR is not going to change much as far as end game tanking goes. It will most likely be a significant nerf to WAR's ability to mow down large groups of enemies, though, so better farm those tapers, keystones and AF chests before 1.22b hits!
If they did add a global chat, there should be a time limit for posts. For example, you can only type something in global chat every 30(?) seconds after your post. Anything to deter people from using it as a regular chat channel.
I feel /shout doesn't need to be brought to a global scale.

it's just 2 types of recruiting, the Party -> Recruit is passive; you set up who you are looking for, fixing the party setup. Player search is active; you have to poke players to ask if they want to join. I usually just set it to 1-50, status:searching for party and go from there.
