Cure 1 is cool, but should be use with other spells. not Cure 1 only
Cure I should be tossed aside once you're in the mid-30s and have Regen.
If you're in a situation before lvl 52 where you have to spam the tank with back-to-back Cure spells alongside keeping Regen up, and you're out of MP because of it, then you probably have a paper tank and Cure I still won't help you in that situation. Teki is right, Cure I should be avoided once you have Cure II and any healer worth their salt will tell you this. GCD efficiency is much more important than MP efficiency in this game.
Also Holy stun does far more for a tanks health than any heal, it's practically a 7s invuln every pull. I always tell new WHM players this if I notice they're at a level where Holy is available and they're still relying on Cure and Freecure.
It's also a shame that now you can be reported for telling a player how to play correctly when they didn't ask. I know, that sounds dumb, cause you though you were doing right and I also think you did nothing wrong. I'm also amazed by your patience cause you didn't openly insulted a player who thinks his skill and ego are greater than other. We need more mentor like you.
On going on my story now.
Tag a Leveling roulette for the money as a Paladin. Got Holminster.
Got through the 2 first bosses with relative ease, then the fun started. In the last part, between the second boss and the third, you have this annoying place where you can't pull more than one pack. It's not like I don't want to pull more, I just can't because the "eggs" don't explode after the pack is killed.
Knowing that, I took the first pack, and tanked it on the spot, not on the eggs (Let's be honest, that doesn't change anything at all. Either solution work, and the final outcome of this part won't change anyway.)
The Healer then grab me on the eggs. I said that was useless cause eggs won't pop unless we kill the mobs first. He replied that I would got aggro immediatly this way... which would also be the case if I was tanking on my original spot... But whatever. I didn't want to argue any further. I decided to do my own tanking and tank the rest of the adds on their spawn point. The healers then choose to NOT AoE the adds, and stay on the next eggs... Which is counterproductive. I didn't say anything else. We killed the 3rd boss then he said : "You shouldn't argue with someone who know the games better than you ;)" and leaved immediatly after.
The samourai inside the team started to ask what was the healer problem about the way I tanked cause it was good. I said not to be bothered by that kind of player, that he will be blacklisted and reported anyway.
I also was curious about the history behind that particuliar player so I did some research. That was an Alt on the EU server from a NA player. I was like "Fine, let's check if this guys is knowing the game better than me or not by checking his main character". He only had 4 class lvl 90, some of them weren't even unlocked, never killed any extreme up to date or Savage. I don't even talk about Ultimate.
When I saw that, I immediatly bursted into laugh on how pathetic this guy was for feeling like a beast when he achieved nothing.
Already had that discussion. Remolia enjoys playing as Conjurer, queing in party finder, even on higher levels. You and me might think that's unfair to the people she gets grouped with but ultimately Remolia doesn't see it that way and the game doesn't prohibit it.
Recently had a CC match where we would run 1 after the other into the enemies. Getting killed out of sync. Is there a name for this? At the end the worst player (died 3 times, no kill, no assists) spams "good job". No one talked during the match. Yes we might have had wintraders on our team or just bad timing. I should have written "assemble" or what that chat command is but no one did. So "good job" to you too Mr. Deadweight.
Lv90 Dungeon Roulette: Alzadaal's Legacy. Had a SMN offers a gratitude from a simple act of pulling mobs into their puddle. Why wouldn't tanks do that anyway?
Just for the giggles tho :p:

It's those "lol so you think I'm suck well ok f u."-responses that deters me from offering any sort of advices at all until shit really hits the fan. It seems this is the only way for people to take any advice at all. That is assuming if they don't immediately place the blame on somebody else lol.
Queued as a MCH for alliance raid roulette: ended up in Ridorana Lighthouse. No biggie. However, by the time we started running to the first boss, my face drained at the telltale sign of server delay.
I didn't die until the last boss, fortunately ("I'LL TEAR YA LIMB FROM LIMB!"), but I made sure to not push my luck once again for the next raid that night. So, I moved on over to Aether.
Luckily, the service was better, and I experienced the fastest run of Rabanastre in my life. I think I know which data server I'm creating my femHrothgar alt on...
I hate partyfinder so much... Everyone goes in, agrees to use the same guide. People proceed not to place themselves in the right spots and argue over it. Multiple people even admitted that they knew their positioning was wrong compared to the vid but at the same time they wanted to argue that it was right? I don't know how it went from having multiple teams doing eternity unsync with one or two wipes the first 8 or so times to one team wiping 20+ times. I just wanted my achievement and I feel like those people have taken years off my life. I could care less about the lack of performance or whatever. People just refuse to listen or take their own advice because of their enormous egos.
Thaleia
No Soul Crystals
85 minutes
1 wipe (Oschon 1)
1 Tank LB1
3 Tank LB2s (other alliances had a couple)
0 Healer LBs
0 Pugilists (oh well)

You'd be surprised. It's a crapshoot whether a tank will keep enemies in sliptstream or doton or whatever, even in level cap content. The number of times I've had a tank pull mobs OUT of my slip streams (when the pull is done, mind you) isn't that many, but it's enough to feel weird.
While nothing in particular, one of the firsts dungeons I ended up playing after a decent absence was Skalla dungeon with a returning player of 3 months, a sprout tank and a sprout samurai.
I was playing black mage and god, between havig messed up the backup function + re adjust the hud + extremely rusty rotation, it took a while but by the final boss, i managed to get used to.
I felt bad for the healer since it said it overlevelled and kept apologising but the whole session turned out to be a fresh experience which I enjoyed. I kinda missed these moments!
I quit Scholar, devs messed up my Fae, and I got sick from it. Also tried summoner, but not for me. I think I am more GNB, but I did not complete MSQ after level 86, since it super boring. So I just made an Alt and casually playing 1-80 content with conjurer/marauder. Maybe I will try 90 content later, when new expansion will be released and will be able to buy story skip to 90, coz I can't burden with MSQ anymore, just can't.
Alt: https://eu.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes...cter/21183125/
To the guys on Aether with whom I had tried to run SGE with in Lunar Subterrane, I am so sorry! The servers have decided to hate on me tonight with constant pokeball-inducing 2002 lobby errors despite logging in just fine for the first time today... gave up after a while. =-=
Because queueing into content as a class and not a job gives you not even half of the kit, and the half that is there is at only a fraction of its actual power. A Conjurer doesn't have:
Regen
Holy
Benediction
Afflatus Solace
Asylum
Glare
Assize
Thin Air
Tetragrammaton
Divine Benison
Afflatus Rapture
Afflatus Misery
Temperance
Aquaveil
Liturgy of the Bell
And that's not even all that it's lacking. Why would someone want to accept the player that willingly threw out 80% of its spells and abilities for a "challenge" that instead puts the burden on the rest of the team to make up for that lack of healing and damage? That team may as well be only 3 players. The average tank would outheal what a Conjurer is capable of. Also, are you really going to say that going into level 80-90 content with Stone II is acceptable? When the game already forces you to do all your job quests to finish the lvl 80 MSQ? There's no excuse to bring in a class over a job.
"But what if I want to make it difficult?" Then bring friends who are willing to do it with you. At least then you're not subjecting everyone in Duty Finder to your "challenge". It only becomes challenging when everyone's willing to commit and also go in with classes.
Imagine if I decided that I wanted to only use auto-attack "because I wanted a challenge", would that be fair to everyone else in the party? If that's not fair because I'm ignoring my kit and purposely playing poorly, why would someone deciding to play a class over a job not constitute the same criticism? They're also ignoring their kit, and doing so purposely once they're at level 80. Subjecting this "challenge" to randos in DF is selfish play that puts your own fun above the rest of the party.
We already discussed that, most part of 15-80 duties is a joke for a healer or a tank, which makes ur healer/tank feels like disrespected crap.
When I am playing some 70 level or 80 level alliance or any other duty, I dont want to slam my keyboard with my face, when I see my raid take a hit, and then return to 1-1-1-1-1-1 99% uptime Glare spams.
I want to figure out how to do more complex and hard ways to heal my party members with a limited skill set, instead of heaving a pack of Win buttons.
And I am not "use auto-attack "because I wanted a challenge"", I am taking my conjurering approach very seriously.
All ur fancy WHM spells are crap, if u dont have duties (I am talking about 1-80 levels) where u have to use them.
My problem isn't that you want to do this "challenge" (as short sighted as it is to call it a challenge, all you're doing is passing responsibility to your teammates unless they also take part and play a class), but that you're doing it in Duty Finder and subjecting randoms to it who didn't consent and expected a WHM rather than a CNJ.
Get a party for that or don't enter, otherwise it falls under lethargic play as you're intentionally limiting yourself and causing problems for other players.
Ah yes, because replacing Tetragrammaton or Rapture with Cure II is very complex. Deciding not to use Stone II because you're slowly running out of mana and can only rely on Lucid Dreaming is complex and totally not just gimping yourself.
I don't disagree that our current tank and healer kits are a joke, especially healers, but that's still not an excuse. Deciding that you're going to make healers more interesting by effectively making yourself half a party member won't fix the problem with healer kits, they're just as uninteresting at lvl 50 as they are at lvl 90, only now you decided that MP tools, free heals, and extra damage aren't worth bringing to the table.
It'd be one thing if you decided to remove a few of your free heals from your hotbar and kept the MP tools so that you could facilitate a playstyle more to your liking. As suboptimal as it is, I can at least respect that you want to enjoy healers in a different approach than how the game is currently designed, and I can at least put "GCD preference" up as playstyle rather than lethargic. However, queueing into lvl 80 content and not even having Thin Air and Regen doesn't make it interesting, just tedious for everyone else.
marauder is better it has Homlgang, and some extra healing, u can also add a Hyper-Potion to extra mitigation slot.
Also if group take damage its better to start with Medica 2, and add Medica 1 only if needed. Same goes for Cure 1 and Cure 2, if u have time to apply Cure 2 its better to go with Cure 2, if u dont have time or have to move - go with cure 1.
find me a group then, I am duing fine in DF, but I would not mind if u find me a group, especially with second conjurer as co-healer.
No, u can get Piety base line with gear, melds and food. I think its 1100+ for level 70 and 1500+ for level 80, don't remember exactly.
If you want to do the challenge, it's up to you to find the group, you have access to Party Finder, so why not use it? I don't care to take part because I don't find playing with a classes kit to be fun. You on the other hand do find that enjoyable, so go nuts in Party Finder. I've heard of people doing the latest alliance without any jobs, so there's still some audience out there trying it out.
If it turns out that no one wants to join, then why are you forcing them to participate via Duty Finder? That's where you start putting your own fun above the rest of the party, they likely just want a smooth, hopefully quick, run and are instead stuck with a Conjurer or Marauder.
Also people should remember, you can kick jobless players from high level DF content if you want, they're just sandbagging. Just don't verbally harass them in game or else GM's will make a frowny face at you in jail.
Their point is that if you go into a duty post 30-35 on a base class, and everyone else are on jobs, then they are carrying you because your base stats are low, and your skills are super limited. This isnt something you can control by choice either, they will have to work harder to compensate the discrepency between the dungeon tuning and you.
The base class challenge only works as a challenge if you are all on base classes, because you all work harder, so its distributed. What youre doing is no different to going into a level 50 extreme unsynced with a level 70 companion. You havent duo'd it at level 50, they have solo'd it for you.
Sure about that?
WAR/MRD in lv40 gear (side by side) synced to lv41 I lose:
HP: - 332
Str: -8
Dex:-8
Vit: -17
Thats a fair chunk.
At lv70, its bigger:
HP: -750
Str: -23
Dex: -15
Vit: -30
Thats a good chunk, added that you dont have access to your full kit, it makes a difference.
