It’s so amazing that this thread has garnered so much support in just a few days! This is something people obviously care about and it’s awesome seeing so many people coming out and being positive. I had my doubts but the community’s attitude has rekindled some of my hope and enthusiasm.
There’s also a lot of people showing up to naysay or start fights about lore purity or whatever, dragging people into fruitless debates. Don’t let them distract you or derail the thread into pointless squabbling: they’re just here to waste your time (and posting limit) and drain your energy, and diminish the potency of the message by baiting you into drama. Ignore them, let them shout into the void and be drowned out by the more measured, positive voices!
Remember: lore is a mutable construct and games are about having fun. If the lore is used to justify deliberately restricting or hampering people’s ability to have good, clean, harmless fun, the problem is the lore. Lore should never be held more sacred than the joy of the players!
