Let me ask every reader of this thread a question.
Would you have rather the game gone the route of solo grinding being the absolute best way to rank up, or would you rather have a game that encourages you to play it and do everything it has to offer (this includes making FRIENDS and playing with them) to change up the pacing and give you more opportunities to enjoy it (Even if you don't want to do all it has to offer)? I'd like to think people would choose the latter. -

That means, that's the short term undefined response. It doesn't say that he's going to nerf any amount specifically, it doesn't mean he's going to completely unchange anything specifically, he's simply saying no without any elaboration. He didn't directly say what was going to be changed and unchanged, he just said that the actual process of gains would still be a fair pace, not that it wouldn't get slightly slower or slightly longer. He chose his words well imo, but people like you take them out of context because even the slightest difference means the end of the world (because it does to you, you for some reason felt betrayed by an answer that wasn't even fleshed out in detail)
Also by saying "I don’t want there to be a huge loss of skill points imposed for dying, or for players to have to grind 5–6 hours a day for 8 months to get to the high ranks." he's actually done that, because if people are saying around 4 to 5 hours of play gets you a rank, and there are only 50 levels, even if you took 2 days per level, that's still only 100 days, and that is not 8 months. -

They require a bit of effort and organization, and it makes sense that they're well rewarded, on the other hand it doesn't make the slightest sense to encourage people to just join a random group to do a behest twice a hour, say <hello!> and <Thank you.><See you again!> during the whole activity, and do absolutely nothing else for hours and hours on end.
Effort and reward need to be balanced. Behest rewarded too much for the effort they required, and have been rebalanced down. Other activities were rewarded too little and have been rebalanced up. That's all there's to it.
The overall leveling curve is unchanged. The fact that your personal favourite activity has been nerfed has no influence on the overall leveling curve, as other more rewarding activities (that required balanced effort and organization) are still available.
You continue to miss the fact that it doesn't magically become true if you continue to repeat it.Quote:
