I can tell you right now ESO is downright awful.
I agree on both arguments, people saying that you should be prepared for it all and this that and the other, and the fact that they are so high because of this that and that factor, mainly to stop the massive FC's from buying up all the land to sell higher later! (or even RMT's?) But I have a much simplier and more sensible solution for those who are in a small FC (and plan to keep it that way) and that is.. I don't know, LIMIT the amount of LAND a FC can buy? Why would a FC need more than ONE house? still have the plot sizes, but limit to only one land can be owned by one FC at a time, if the FC want to upgrade to bigger land, make it so that they have to purchase the new land first, then after x amount of time their old land goes up for sale, thus they can only own one piece of land at a time! Then I don't know when your servers are upto it allow the purchase of more land.
If you want my opinion, this will only encourage more RMT activity.
Yoshida gave us an estimate, and we saved our money based on that estimate. Now that push comes to shove, it turns out that Yoshida's estimate is off by a good 39 million gil on some servers.
I think that's reason enough for people to be upset with him.
Besides, if they knew hardware was going to be an issue, they should've just said so and delayed the content by a couple of months instead of hyping housing and lying to us.
Are you freaking kidding me? So you couldn't just LIMIT THE NUMBER OF HOUSES ANY ONE PERSON OR FC CAN OWN TO ONE? Kinda funny, considering that's exactly how you said it would work.Quote:

^This. From someone who set alarms and woke up in the middle of the night for months to water my plants on specific days in order to grow my elemental ores to sell in FFXI the qqing rings hollow. Granted I can't do that anymore but money making is part of any MMO, just like level grinding your character. You always have to do some planning on how to establish a source of income end game. And guess what, if everyone are millionaires in this game, then the plots are gonna be in the billions.
So, I'm on Balmung. My FC is REALLY big into roleplay. We had quite a bit of money saved up to buy a house. Almost every single member in our FC of 59 people, has been saving and contributing to our savings. By the math given to us though, including the new prices of profits we should be earning every day. At the moment, it is going to take our FC over a year of every single member putting every single penny we earn all into the housing pool. THEN we'll be able to buy the land in over a years time. I get the whole "something to work for" thing, and sure I understand that we don't need the biggest and the best. But, let's be honest, I've walked around the housing areas... The small plots of land are just... well... tiny. How is there even any type of argument about these prices on Balmung? I don't know ANYONE on Balmung that thinks these prices are reasonable. Please consider changing them.
It's great that you are actively fighting RMT gil from ruining the economy. Any chance you could actually help the victims of RMT hacking? I've been waiting three months for a game data recovery and support has yet to do the recovery nor are they willing to cancel the recovery. Please don't forget us, we want to enjoy all the great new content too.
Don't forget, if your property goes unused for a certain amount of time (they never say exactly how much time must pass), you lose EVERYTHING that you paid for.
Given that people are going to have to work like they do in Chinese Gold Farm Sweatshops to earn the kind of gil needed to buy a plot of land...if time passes and no one visits the guildhall for some reason, you just lose it all....that isn't right on so many levels.
