idk who she is either, but that is because the Wuk factor made me skip the entire expansion after I got fed up with the objective "speak to peace craving taco kitty again" around lvl 93 and she went on her 78346th rant about wanting peace.

For anyone wondering, Shale is the Elezen woman we interact with in Cahciua's secret base in S9, she's the one who tells us Krile's earring is basically a USB flash drive.

Her being trans does matter because its blatant DEI, if they weren't required to hire a "minority" then they could have hired a person who was a good voice actor instead of them to adhere to the quota.
Dawntrail sucks, Ive made it to the first dungeon in the story. Worse FF story I've ever played.

Can't blame everything on the poor quality of voice acting done, Wuk Lamat's VA had her moments, but then suddenly dipped horribly. It was very inconsistent.
But I've noticed the lack of quality in the other VA's too, it's like the direction wasn't there either for the English side in DAWNTRAIL.

There's always this thing I notice in a lot of dubs, that Japanese VA's actually ACT while sometimes English VA's just phone in their lines like they are reading from a paper, not being IN THE SCENE, showing us what the characters FEEL.
I feel like a lot of this expansion was that, a lot of the VA's just didn't act, sometimes Krile actually sounded lobotomized. Yoshida said that they went with a different studio for the EN dub and at least one Scion VA said that they weren't given context for scenes unlike previously. They very obviously wanted to cut costs, which is probably why almost half the expansion's English dialogue is from a rookie who has primarily had bit parts.

Dude, seriously. Turn off Joe Rogan, shut down your Truth Social app, go out into the world and meet some real life people. Maybe even do something wild and read a book now and then. I made the mistake of paying my sub for 6 months in advance, so I will look at 7.1 and judge it by the content besides the MSQ.
I will change to subbing only for a month in the future.

Whether or not the story will have anyone address the fact that Endless Sphene was actually a mass-murdering AI Robot remains to be seen. In fact it almost feels as if 'we' should have a flashback to Venat addressing the Ancients who were about to sacrifice themselves in 'Thou Must Live, Die and Know':
"So please, open your eyes. To try and reclaim those lives we lost by sacrificing yet more isn't wisdom. It is weakness"
and apply it to the Alexandrians, because that's pretty much exactly what Endless Sphene did.

I said this once before, and I will say it again.
If I had the option of killing Lamat or peacing out. I'd take it even if it locked me out of 90% of the story content. No takebacks. Only acceptance.
