Missing Genders: A request for Male Miqote, Female Highlander, and Female Roegadyn

Yw Nata / Taryn :D I dunno years of a playerbase requesting the implentation of game content would be serious to me as a game developer. Oh yeah and the fact since the game developers have added related content showing they exist and are not in few of numbers might suggest or lead one to believe the content requested is "there" just not added.

We post in hopes of SE reconsidering this idea.

Well in XI Female Galkas did not exist in both lore and in physical presence, male mithras existed but not in the mainland.

In XIV however so far there has been confirmed existence of Rem Rogs, Male Miqos are unknown as of now and female highlander are unknown aswell. BUT there is no lore yet stating that they do not exist making it totally reasonable for players to want them.

I say give them their big butch he-man ladies and man cats and call it a day.

Just so you know all three are publicly known to exsist in game and in collected lore from the lodestone sites.

If a male Miqote is written into lore as a very rare thing, then I am against the addition of a male Miqote as a playable race/gender. It would make the lore seem very silly indeed. If it doesn't mention this, then I don't mind either way. If it means less gender-swapping in the game then I'm all for that as it's annoying to talk to a Miqote and then discover they're a guy. First impressions and all that - you go by what you see!

Same thing for female Roegadyn. If the lore allows for it, great, if it's a reincarnation lore that says there are only males, no thanks.

I don't think the world suffers from the lack of these gender/race options if there is lore to explain it, basically.

I wouldn't mind seeing these added for more variety but I'm happy enough with my character as is.

It doesn't say they are rare (MM) it says they are sometimes solitary meaning they dont form family bonds. Most likely to mean the females create the families, and take care of the kids but the males only interact with females when their urge to mate rises then they go off on their own again. Lot of cats act like that. That doesn't mean they are rare.


Female Roegadyn are talked about in the lore and one is even mentioned as being a great beauty who used that beauty to become rich and powerful. It doesn't mention they are rare or that they do not exist.

The Highlander Hyur lore states the females have been staying near ala migho and haven't left to explore since it was destroyed and only the Males have gone out looking for aid in rebuilding the city. But it doesn't say anything about them being rare or not existing.

Ok, I think everyone here knows that "content" stuff yoishi-p always mentions is just pointless padding, and the battle system works (almost) perfectly.
Untill SE put something in the game to represent every peice of lore mentioned in it - I dont think we'll be pleased - Come on SE! 30 pages! Most discussed english topic on the lodestone! I hope they soon realise whats important to us as a player base and re-arrange their patches appropriatly!

Well Tanaka did say that the renders were done so im sure they will add them at some point, its just not at the top of their list right now. I just hope they sneak them into the ps3 launch lol.

I think a lot of us are. Its not something we need/want right now but we'd like them to be present for the PS3 launch.

Yes, well put -- I certainly don't expect new playable genders to be at the top of the to-do list (or even in the middle, lol), SE has more important things to work on. However, at this point we do not know if SE will ever add them or if they are even considering it anymore as they are not something that has been mentioned on the giant to-do list-chart-thingies that have been posted. Which, I would point out, even included consideration of a "jump" feature.

So I get the idea that this thread is more of a way to poke SE about actually adding more playable genders to their official "we plan to do this and will get around to it eventually" list, or at least the "we are considering it" list. ^_~ It sure would be a great addition for the PS3 launch. ^^

im all for it i for one will never play these races but hell it seams that a lot of people are screaming for it even back in ff11 so why not make it happen.

I'd be jumping up and down in excitement if they added this to the to-do list. :D I'd be so happy! lol

Yeah I agree. I'm not expecting it to be released "tomorrow" or that it should be priority over other content. I would just like to see it added.;)

I agree.. If they dont want to play as one of them DON'T. Keep moving forward in the game with the race you prefer. Just allow the same thing for other players.

Some people are afraid of change. It feels threatening to them. I can understand that I guess. I don't really like change at first sometimes, even if it's a good thing that I may start liking later. XD

This is something that would make many people happy though. I can't imagine too many people being sincerely angry about this.
Besides.. the missing genders are already in the world.. just not in the game yet. It's not something that would be changing the game world.

I agree not only would it make this part of the community happy but posssibly bring back players and intrique new players to pick up the game as well.

Im always in favor of more customization , but this is really just cosmetic that needs a lot of work to put into stage , cant afford that for 1 year or 2.

Plus as evidenced by this thread, plenty of people would be ready to create a new character if those missing options were added.

Well, first, muscular women don't have to be ugly, unless they are overly muscular. Second, equal rights for both genders! And male miqo'tes don't have to be furry, it's really not much different from a female miqo'te, just make the emotes less female (observing male cats helps :P) and stick some ears and a tail on a hyur model... or something

Um , well idk i seen other games were they had the option to pick muscular women and they were never popular.

Idk if tanaka was lying or not(he said NPC, not playable race, the differences are many), but i dont think introducing new playable races would do much for the game now, later , sure .but realistically speaking , not the time.

I read the first post, and few pages, i admit i didnt read the whole thin.I think i speak for myself and many others when i say we dont want to reroll.Specially when is nothing new, same grind with different looking char,, um no.i would think people who would reroll for a new looking cat have not played much , at least in my opinion.Doubtfully people who agree with this here is a majority , go ahead and count them, im pretty sure is not that many.

You make it sound like we are demanding something impossible when we are not. The first post asks if they still have plans to release them that is it. We don't care when, just want an answer yes or no. If I had to say when, I'd say have them ready for the PS3 release.

Who is asking you are anyone else to reroll? The people who would reroll are the people wanting to switch to their desired race and with that comes the common sense to know what that entitles.The "NUMBERS" are there and have been since the begining of XI..... Also if you had read the post thoroughly no one is asking for it "Now" They are asking for "SOMETIME", to confirm them with the content / lore thats in XIV . Isn't that obvious? If not please read again. IE the comment one poster mentioned about seeing them in patch notes / a list of content that is scheduled to come out.

This is the perfect time for this. Yoshida-san is constantly adding to the to-do list. If this thread helps it make it on the list, even if it's to happen a year from now, this will all have been worth it.
Speaking up for something we would love is never pointless.
And you assume that the female genders added would be ugly.. (The Roe female lore already states something against that, but I guess you didn't read the thread.) P.S. That's kinda shallow anyways.
Tanaka-san already stated that the designs were ready and they were planning to implement them into the game. It's not like they'd be starting from scratch. There was already work done on this.

Honestly, I'd just be happy if they added another Roegadyn subrace that looks like the galka do, with tails, 4 fingers/toes per limb, and a bit more animal-like face, for those who enjoyed how galka look and hate how... plain roegadyn are, like humans with a bit more muscle and different colored skin. They barely qualify as another race, just take a bodybuilder and paint him grey or red and call him a roegadyn!

Besides, mithra in this game have two types, a more humanlike version with round eyes and a more catlike version who have cat-eyes and the like.

Roegadyn will never have tails as the tail was how Galka reproduced in XI. It was cut off and a new body regenerated out of it after the original body was burnt to ash, when the new body was ready it would return to town with most of the memories of the warrior who had left but none of the skills or training needing to be retaught what it was to be a Galka.

Roegadyn do not reincarnate like Galka so there is no reason for that lore piece.

I'm not seeing new race being added till the first expansion. Though it may be possible for it to come out in the content patches. There is just so many more things I would like to see added before I am worried about races.
