Zepla: Endwalker is the Worst FFXIV Expansion I have played

Unfortunately, Zepla is right. Endwalker has been extremely disappointing, and the game is deteriorating. In my 8 years of playing, I've never felt such disappointment.

The content is mediocre, and we have to wait for patches for 4.5 months. There's no PvE grind content, no PvE exploration content, the 24-man raids look nice but are mechanically forgettable, the first two tiers of Pandæmonium are disappointing.

Job balance isn't optimal, and they've become extremely casual+++++++++-friendly.

Endwalker has been a failure.

Or maybe, just maybe, have some self awareness that a lot of people dont care about your gigantic wall of text and your constant "i'm a victim look at me, people are mean and they are harassing me and attacking me" attitude, it just makes people either laugh at you or just ignore you. I don't know if I am a little more old fashioned I get some users do wall text and don't deliver insight but sometimes a bit more then a couple paragraphs are needed to form context and bolster the opinion the user is trying to bring across. The only issue I have is sometimes seeing words like copium, hopium etc it just comes across as silly like it's not an answer because its a generic term the Gen Z use to cover broad responses...not saying you don't give your opinion though cause you do. Sometimes though and this is more to other users its frustrating when you are actually giving insightful info in your post and people brush it off because their attention span doesn't want to read a wall of text here and there...I am very happy to read peoples responses...this is a forum...its not instant messaging we have daily caps (which you circumvent with alts blah blah) so sometimes some users just need to cram what they can in....so I get it to a degree....maybe I am too old fashioned for my own good lol.

I love a good, long read every now and then. I've got no issue with giant walls of text depending on who it's from, and if there's actually a point to it (whether I agree with it or not), but that is all I have to really say on the matter.

These discussions are often a debate so I use debate rules, keep things short, concise and to the point.

If you believe a wall is needed, give a TLDR at the top and then go to town.

You typed a lot of words, and I read it twice and I still have no idea what you’re actually trying to convey here. I also watched the video Zepla posted from beginning to end, she made very valid critiques, I didn’t hear a single insult at all in there so where are you even coming up with that?

Zepla has no clue what she is talking about. Why anyone would accept the opinion of a streamer as their own is beyond me. They are random people you meet on the street. Would you accept the opinion of a random stranger? I hope not. You keep supporting Zep though. She will be happy to pump out trash content as long as you pay her.

The idea of creating a rational argument to convince someone of your point of view is not the point. The point is to scream the loudest, mock the other person, shut down alternate views. She has every clue what she's talking about. For me personally, I've felt this way since 6.1 at the earliest. It is just nice to see someone with a bit more influence share the same views that I already have. I don't have to know someone to agree with them. I know I'm wasting my time telling you all of this, since I've gone back and forth with you before over the years, but oh well.

That is definitely how I view some instances when it happens here and there...I don't think it gives the high ground feeling they think it does it just makes my brain think 'what age is this person and are they still in school' I am not saying this thought process applies to certain users more my sometimes half asleep thought process :P

I would say she has some basis to form a louder opinion on the matter but then I do stand in the camp of....you got burnout because you've been playing this non stop for years what did you think would happen...even if I played this game actively even during the supposed 'best times' I still would of taken mass breaks because I don't think I could limit or dedicate myself to just one game (for the most part) Then when she went to Genshin I was like....she moans of grinds now but ohhhhh boyyyy lol Also I do feel like regardless of the quality of TOP fight she was humbled by it in that she found out shes not that great a player and I think that did put a chip on her shoulder.

It's another way of saying "I've got the proof". The funny part is that everyone else could provide proof of this poster's own wrongdoings up easily enough. Most everyone else's "dirt" is open to interpretation at worst, non-applicable at best. They'd be hard pressed to find anything of substance. However, that is the last thing that they are concerned about. They just want to keep stirring the pot. These empty threats are nothing more than a poor attempt to rile others up.

To those who do not like Zepla, your well within your right to do so and speak out against her.

But, if you watch the video, Zepla actively asked her subscribers and Twitter/x and got a lot of responses, many she included in her video. If she was so far out there with crazy opinions, she wouldn’t have even been posted here, let alone supported.

I want everybody to voice their opinion but they need to make sure that they do not stifle an opposing view. If you firmly believe in something, stick to your guns but don’t try and shut down a discussion.

I’m not sure if anyone has mentioned it but it’s interesting that almost all the major streamers seem unified on this opinion, let’s say ignore the WOW refugee streamers to prove a point, the first two I think of are mr happy and “shield and heal as necessary”

Mr happy has been dead eyed for half an expansion now and shield and heal as necessary I’m pretty sure outright said EW is trash and dropped panda

Had there been a streamer in the last year or so who has actually come out and said that 14 is doing what they want right now (I honestly don’t have a pulse on xeno right now)

What probably helps their case a bit is that most of them have been around the block way more than once in regard to MMOs. They know the warning signs, and they can make an educated guess as to where things will go from a certain point. I'm not saying that they are always right, and I certainly don't always agree with them, not even Zepla. Heck, I straight up don't like Xenos. But they actually do know a thing or two, because they've seen it a thing or two. Dismissing them just because they are a streamer seems foolish, in my opinion. I form my own opinions. To my shock and surprise, it seems that a few high profile streamers share these views as well. A lot of us around here have been trying to get others to see the writing on the wall for a long, long time now. I will admit to feeling at least a little vindicated.

I realized it was unnecessary and somewhat childish in my frustration in trying to communicate with you (it is beyond frustrating, by the way), so I changed it. No one's perfect, not even myself, and two wrongs don't make a right. That's about it. I don't often edit my posts to the point that it's a complete overhaul, though I do sometimes edit my post a few times as my thoughts get sorted, but I thought about it for a second and realized that I really didn't need to post it as it was. You are free to read into it as you like though. You won't find many layers, however.

Here's the messed up part, if you ignore the tit-for-tat between the serial bullies and I, my own complaints are not dissimilar to Zepla's. I disagree with how she's expressing her complaints (again, I always oppose attacking people as part of an argument or critique), but I agree with the general idea of.

- There's not a lot to do, especially for the midcore.
- The post-EW climax high of 6.0 needed a more gradual let-down, and this was not handled well for various reasons, nor was the "adventuring reset", which seems to be pushed to 7.0 leaving us in an awkward purgatory...
- A lot of introduced content has missed the mark, even stuff that's stepping in the right direction (like Criterion)
- The pace of content is slower AND the amount released is lower AND there's nothing with grind potential to make up for it.

Those are significant critiques, and ones I have with the game right now myself.

Just a suggestion - you obviously don't have to take it - avoid being snarky or trying to get a mic drop on me. Instead of "You typed a ton and didn't address my point" something like "I think we disagree on what a personal attack is, maybe?" would have led to a pretty different exchange between us.

How does she have no clue when she's simply expressing her opinion the same as anyone else? Some "random stranger" isn't necessarily playing FFXIV whereas Zepla does. Regardless, I've held almost an identical opinion as hers since 6.2. The only difference is streamers/Youtube's have far more reach than any random person. Yoshida has outright admitted they watch Zepla, Xeno, Happy and Mizzteq. Whether you like it or not, their opinion holds actual weight because it isn't just their opinion but the several thousands liking their videos.

You can enjoy EW all you fancy. In fact, I wish I could feel the same. And I mean that genuinely. I'd prefer to actually enjoy the expansion instead of contemplating my sub because there's literally nothing worth doing. Nevertheless, respect the fact not everyone does. Like I said earlier, you're entitled to your opinion just as we are ours.

Mine is that Endwalker is decidedly underwhelming with nearly every piece of content that isn't the basic formula being a flop in some manner or another: Island Sanctuary is a glorified retainer venture and nothing else, the reward structure for Criterion is downright awful—a fact made evident by the content dying within a few weeks of its release. Seriously. Try to find a party for either of the dungeons nowadays. It's completely dead because there's zero reason to do it, especially Savage. Why put in all that effort for essentially nothing? And before you say, "I thought raiders didn't need rewards?!?!" Take the rewards away from any piece of casual content and it will instantly die too. If the upcoming 24 man didn't have any glamour drops, nobody would touch it after a week. The simple fact is people are motivated by some form of incentive—of which Criterion has none.

Deep dungeon has zero innovation and is essentially a HoH copy/paste. Then we finally get to the relic and it's been the exact same tome farm three separate times now. No innovation. No story progression. And no talking to Godbert for all of five seconds is not story progression. It's a literal "do the same daily chores you always do and here's a welfare weapon."

Of course, all of this is my own opinion entirely separate from Zepla's. I held that opinion long before she posted her video and I've never watched her stream.

Do people genuinely think we prefer sitting here on the forums being disappointed rather than playing the game

I want to be playing the game, not arguing on the forums about the lack of content, but due to this arguing on the forums is about the only content in the game and that’s why I agree with the streamers

My old forum logs got deleted in 2021 when I fused my legacy account into my new account but combining the two you could track basically exactly where I felt the game didn’t have enough content, because I would come to the forums to fill the gap, I’d honestly rather be playing

Housing is a clever way of maintaining a base level of subs but if the drought gets worse or the content we get in 7.0 is worse than 6.x, housing won’t save them.

This is where I'm at. While I'll likely keep my standard sub since I do play on my alt, I may drop my last two paid retainers. At some point once I'm done with TOP, I'm strongly considering to flex my sub every other month so I can stay within the 45 day limit to reset my house timer but only pay for every other month. If 7.0 is a repeat of EW, I'm also considering just letting the house go. I don't use it enough at the moment anyway.

That is what som kind of 'content creator' say and not your opinion, also those so called streamers or whatever is not worth following, they rely alot on eg. datamining and other things that is not really on the ok side with the TOS to begin with.

Stop simping, and get your actual opinions out, Zepla, Mr. Happy... Meonie or whatever they all are named today, is an utter waste of time to spend time on, if you actually play the game at all, if you can't come up with your own stuff, then that just mean you do not play the game at all yourself and rely on what these clowns with a webcam and microphone tell you to do and mean and whatever.
