I lost mine aswell! so that goes up to 85 lost houses! WOO!
and you and me both honestly... It's the constant. Wait, lose, Wait, lose, wait, lose. :/
Imagine what the bids would look like if it was something like a 2-2 schedule. You'd have half as many houses available so the bid counts would double.
Players are going to feel better about a 1 in 25 chance to win compared to 1 in 50 chance to win when entries are spread over fewer plots.
It would be even worse if it was the 1-1 schedule that some have suggested. We'd be back at the point where players would feel forced to log in every day to have a chance at a house just like many complained back when it was FCFS. Log in to bid. Log in to see that they lost. Log in to bid again. And so on.
No matter how it gets scheduled, some players will continue to be unhappy because they cannot get a plot where they currently play.
Lotteries by their nature can't be won by everyone. There's no reason to feel humiliated because it's random chance.
If someone tells to you piss off when you're looking around to decide where to place a bid or to collect a refund when you didn't win, please report them.
I understand you both have your reasons for not wanting to transfer.
Yet on Marilith, I can go to the Mist subdivision where my FC has its house and there are 8 open plots. None of them had a single bid this lottery period.
And it's by no means the only ward/subdivision with available plots for the taking on Dynamis. A lot of players could get out of the wait/lose cycle by being willing to move and they would still be able to play with their NA friends.
There always seem to be players who feel comfortable in their self-pity rather than looking towards a brighter future on a new World.
So in the end we simply should move on and ignore those who wants to sink into their self-pity and wait for salvation instead of taking fate into their own hands.
Saw that dream plot in Mist 26-19. I would love to have a personal house there.
My number was 26, 24 won. Bad luck !
You know what would be delicious right now? Chocolate lava cake, with raspberry ice cream.
You guys gave me such cravings I had to order chocolate... smh
Dream plot is up again… it wasn’t open last night so it must’ve opened up in the wee hours of the morning. I bid first again. I have no chill. I was so excited to see it open! lol Hope you find something worth bidding on this round Yuniko! <3
Here is hoping that the Crystarium, and Old Sharlayan will get housing districts next.
I also wonder if those houses off in the distance of Ratz-At-Han will ever lead to a set of wards. I know that secondary hubs in expansions don't have marketboards, or housing, but I really wish they would get an exception. It is my dream for every city state in the game to have its own housing ward.
Imagine Old Sharlayan, Doman Enclave, Idyllshire, Mor Dohna, Ratz-At-Han, Crystarium, and one day even Ala Mhigo all with their own wards. Think of all the player housing and aesthetics for every player. There would never be a shortage.
To be fair, even for the main cities, the housing areas are actualy not in the main city themselve. There is still a seperate region between it. So for Ratz they can make an exception here, especialy since lore wise its a very suitable location to have a housing area.
It could also make a 2nd feature work: give quicker aetheryte teleporting between the 2 regions (even in shb they have an airship connection to the secondary area). While it might negate fees here, it wont be a problem either, almost everything that matters in EW endgame is in radz and not in sharlayan. Even if the housing would be in sharlayan, people would directly teleport to their house and skip the main city anyway (except when they need to bid on a house). And these teleport costs as a gil sink barely matter anyway (especialy when free teleport coupons exist).
We can all hope so! truely! <3
Technically Crystarium does not make sense given its another dimension and housing ownership is based upon your standing within the grand company; heck I am not even 100% sure how we get to Norvandt after shadowbringers. I'm hoping for a Sharlayan district with a italian vineyard feel.
This housing round ends on Sunday right?
I did. :) Last I was on, it was only up to 4… one of the other smalls seems to be more popular than mine this round. But there’s still tonight and a whole day left til results so I’m keeping my fingers crossed. At the moment, these are my best odds since January!
Lost… again… :( hope you had better luck, Yuniko! *hugs*
Another loss here as well.
I fully expect to have been trying and failing for 9 years come July. It's inexcusable how a base feature of the game is just made unavailable for such a large percentage of players on larger servers. There should at least be as many plots as their are level 90's. We don't even have HALF that.

No wonder competitions so hot.
I've been trying for a Medium/Large for a while and I accept that I'm on a high pop server and competitions rough.
Housing is instanced already, Apts (and yes, you dont consider them a house, but it is HOUSING, S.E never promised anyone a house)
Also youre thinking righteously but not critically. Anyone with a house will be reoccurring revenue on pretty much a monthly basis.
Most housers will pop up as a MaU. But all housers show up show up on the QaU and if not they are here talking about how they lost their house. To no sympathy from other players no less.
They have no reason to change the system when it keeps you paying, where a instanced house cant do that unless they put needless demolish restrictions on it to keep you logging back in (not going to happen, bad pr)
People thought the lotto system was going to be their easy ticket to housing. When all it did was stack the odds against them because now they have to wait for potentially other people to bid over a bidding period on the same house.
Gone are the days of walking up to a house and buying it. Its not first come first serve anymore. And the players here on this forum asked for it to be that way.
Sure you dont have to click a placard for 12 hours, but you still cant get a house because youre bidding against 13 others, and the more players want the house the less chance you have of getting it.
And one is a totally different housing experience from the other, indoor/outdoor, multiple floors, etc. It’s about the difference between a studio apartment and a 2-bedroom house. And as already stated, you can have both, plus an FC room. Why should anyone be satisfied with less access when they’re paying the same sub?
I have no idea what MaU or QaU stand for.
The auto-demolish is mostly needed because beyond the lack of supply, the wards are permanently loaded, so there needs to be a way to empty out the spaces no longer in use. Whether it’s because someone simply isn’t using it, or they just quit the game. With instanced, you don’t have that problem. If it’s not in use, it’s neither using any server resources other than stored data, and it’s not taking a potential home away from anyone else.
Don’t count me in that number… I never asked for this. In fact, I didn’t start posting here at all til recently. Because both systems have their own flaws. And if I’m being honest, I liked the old system better. Because if you’re someone who plays regularly like I do, all you had to do was wait til the content slowed down before the major patches, and you could walk right up and buy. No placard clicking, the timers were long since expired because most people were taking a break until new content released. I’ve been in every lotto since about Oct./Nov. and lost every single one.
But the root cause of it all is the lack of supply. There is a way for everyone to have what they want. And I’m here to campaign for that. Apparently it worked for the people who wanted the lotto. Which don’t get me wrong, is “better” than watching/clicking a placard for hours on end. But it still sucks in its own ways.
Yes +1 to more wards
There are no mediums left & I've finally saved enough for one :(
MAU - monthly active users
QAU - quarterly active users
DAU - daily active users (just in case someone starts throwing that one around as well)
They're metrics used by mobile and free to play games to impress investors with the potential for revenue. The more players that are logging in, the more microtransaction purchases are likely to be made.
The problem is they really don't mean anything to games that are primarily monetized through subscriptions. Subscription totals are more meaningful than active users. Someone can be paying a subscription without being an active user.
For FFXIV, the extended free trial players aren't useful as metrics since they can't make purchases from the game store. YoshiP has said that the vast majority of free trial users that go on to subscribe to the game do so in their first month of play so by the time MAU/QAU might be counted, the player has already switched to subscription.
How many players are actually tied to their subscription only because of a house and not for other reasons? Only SE knows. Considering they don't seem to hesitate to suspend demolition when some major disaster impacting a large region occurs would indicate that either the number is very small or keeping players tied to a subscription via a house is not their goal contrary to what some players claim.
The game would not belly flop financially if instanced housing were introduced.
it took me 17 trys and i finaly got 1 i made 232 mil gil so i put the best in it
