The ability to sync to any level at any time, so that I can practice the rotations for old raids.
Game Masters to go under investigation for organized crime
As someone who like to collect, let us put finished relic weapons in the glam dresser, not just replicas. They let us put finished crafter/gatherer relics (Skybuilders), why not battle relics.
not sure if it'd count as qol but I think it'd would be nice if for mounts like kurin, firebird, landerwaffe etc if we could pick music from one of the mounts needed to get it and have that play went we ride it. Admittedly I really just want my landerwaff to play to the taco song from ruby weapon but still
A randomise glamour plate button that selects random gear equipable by the currently selected job in the dresser.
The usual give hrothgar and viera every hat and Modern Aesthete (together not viera first hrothgar....eventually) but also give whm mp refund when using lilies bc mp is still an issue since thin air is basically crap outside rezzing, least for me (i do meld piety because imagine wasting precious materia on an mp tick)
I've never been a hardcore angler in this game, but I do bust it out from time to time when I'm on my crafting sprees. And then I'm always reminded of the the little annoyances I have with fishing. And since I've been fishing a lot this week, I present to you my list:
• If a fish's only purpose is to be used as a collectible or for aetherial reduction, why do we need to manually turn on the collector's glove option? Why not just flag them as a collectible automatically as it is with the MIN/BOT items?
• When we have collector's glove on, why do we need to get this pop-up window after we make a catch (of said collectible-fish)?
https://i.imgur.com/c7S5e7d.jpg
YES, I put on my collector's glove on purpose, of course I want to have it be a collectible. Just put it in my inventory already! (this also doesn't happen with MIN/BOT collectibles)
• Give us a search function for fish. If I'm needing to fish up some random fish I don't do often, my options are to scour the fishing log region by region, use the fish guide to search through 1000+ fish page by page, or just pull it up on some website.
• For those fish that have special conditions, it would be nice if the fish guide and/or fishing log would update to reflect the required conditions once you've caught the fish. As it is now, the fish will still just reflect ??? in all fields which really doesn't serve any purpose.
• Would love to have a "search for gathering method" that would show you the fishing hole for fish you've already caught and logged.
I've not tried catching most of the rare fish....how does that impact the catching process? Genuinely curious as I really only fish for my crafting & collectible needs and haven't run into a situation where it's been useful to have the pop-up. :X
e: read up a bit on how to catch that fish, and I see the bit with the sculptors and possibly having to choose "no" on the prompt. Is this a common process with legendary fish? Do you think there's a better way that "normal" collectibles could be handled without needing to toggle the glove & dealing with the pop-up? From the casual side, it feels far less streamlined than our botanist/miner counterparts.
For steth specifically you generally want to hold the second (or both if double hook) sculptors until the following window using the collection menu. This lets you get a full window's attempt from the intuition buff, which really helps - particularly when considering how much of a pain sculptor is to catch in the first place.
Edit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=02btuCpUpiU this video explains the process if I'm incoherent and you want to skim through it.
1. Make it to where if a player wanted to delete a friend off their friendlist; it'll automatically take them off their friendlist as well. That way no one has to create a complete new character to avoid certain players.
2. An "anon" option in the game. This was a feature in FF11 to where if you did /anon, no one would know you were online (You'd always appeared offline.) and they could not look up your location. The only way they could find you is that they so happen to be in the same area and ran across you by accident, or that you typed into a public chat.
3. More windowed color choices! We got black, peachy pink, and classic blue options. It would be nice to have some more variants for a more personalized game play experience. Seeing how the adventure plates shot off; I am sure some love can be provided there too.
4. For Island Sanctuary: A weather port, and a summoning bell. I know this is the start of this project, so I don't expect much right now, but I think those two items would be nice to have on the island.
5. Like what they did with the currency window adjustment; I'd think having a "timer" adjustment would be good too, or updating the alarm bell in the game. There is so little room to put text with that feature, and its timed on a 24hour basis game or inrl. There is a lot of weekly timers as well, but I know not everyone does them. So why not have a manual one? Like maybe there is a setting where there is a giant checklist and the player can just punch the ones they want to focus on for the day or week, and that window will be static until the player wants to do something else. The jumble up with remembering weekly savage stuff, challenge log, the stuff in the actual timers tab, wondrous tales, gold saucer... and other personal goals...; it would be nice to have it all in one spot and chosen by the player.
In other words; a manual to-do list that will check off when we get things done.
I want it so casters don't get interrupted when getting hit by an auto attack
I also want it to where casters are not interrupted because the trash mob ran into their hitbox.
Also maybe a potion that reduces sprint cooldown (having it on the same cd length as a cordial or something to help balance it out)
And remove crystals from crafting
1) Do away with 123 combos. Either a single button or auto attack. It's not a skill, it's a chore. Chores are not fun.
2) Floating Combat text customization. Filter source, change size and hide source
3) Auto-hide Bars/Reposition UI elements based on combat/non combat/crafting class state. That's why console single player RPGs have such a slick nice UI.
4) Chat Bubbles. Self-explanatory.
5) Clickable links in chat
6) Different colors for names in chat.
7) Hide job gauge
8) Hide minimap buttons
9) Brand new UI elements with boss arena maps to put markers with attached names that can be linked to the rest of the group.
Either there's gonna be a limited manual version of bossmod in the game or cynical players will use complete bossmod themselves.
10) Amp3 playerOrchestron Linkpearl item that allows you to play collected Orchestrons. Give it headphone filter for immersion.
11) Hold down to continue cast/queup spell sequence with cancel hotkey.
Yes this reduces the skill ceiling. No I dont care. You're playing with a toy, you're not a professional who earns money.
12) Scroll down option on /tell to open as a seperate window.
TL;DR: Stop treating mods like the enemy and instead as a customer feedback.
someway to tell if the party/raid wide attack the boss is casting is magic damage or physical damage. I shouldn't have to memorize a wiki page outside of the game to know if one of my tank cooldowns will do anything
Better inventory management options and a better way to integrate all the different inventory spaces. As a crafter I really struggle with inventory space, sorting and generally just managing it all.
"Sell junk" button. "Select all" buttons when moving items en masse. Delete from a retainer's inventory. A crafting mats bag. A glamour wadrobe GW2/WoW sttyle.
A way to rotate your character while in /gpose so you don't have to exit out and reposition them.
Items/Inventory
- Option for one inventory window (including saddlebag, armoury chest etc.)
- Option for one retainer window, encompassing all retainers.
- Option for one FC chest window encompassing all tabs.
- View all inventories whilst out in the world (retainers, FC chest, glamour)
- Auto-Sort between inventories
- Option to Right-click items between inventories (so much time wasted confirming individual movements)
- All item details, all of the time. (Some details are missing depending on which menu an item is seen in, somewhat frustrating.)
- Open the crafting window to the last recipe you were looking at! See above, it’s annoying as hell.
- Repair ALL items with one click.
- Right-click sell multiple items *Rhazell voice* at the same… time!
Social
- Default World/General Chat (Super QoL imo)
- Retain the channel you last spoke in… Also, auto-revert to FC or ‘Say’ when you leave a party or raid etc.
Housing
- No housing ward restrictions (X wards = FC only, Y wards = private.) Oceanic realms still have numerous low-pop FC wards. It's depressing to see so many empty lots…
- Option to remove/blank housing walls and ceilings incl. remove windows. Exposed pillars are so last season.
- Option to move entry/exit/egress in housing.
Misc
- Option to auto-dismount on interaction (attack/combat, gathering, NPC)
- Customisable in-game timer menu /alarm clock /calendar. Set node timers, raid dates, roast dinners etc.
- Squadron reserve system. Preferably have more than 8 in the room but if not, allow for them to be switched out, rather than effectively fired just so another can get a bit of spotlight. I’m not manager material, firing loyal soldiers is soul crushing. (Not QoL but surely they could be given jobs polishing armour in apartments or something?!)
- The biggest one imo, option to remove confirmation windows for every action. Not necessarily one button for all, but all actions with the option.
Have the public market board scroll 2 or 3 lines at a time instead of one, and have the "page" arrow buttons be at the top as well as bottom of the page.
I'm going to (slightly/partially) disagree; I think it's fine to have your base attacks condensed to a single button, but I think you need more engaging things to intersperse in there if you do so.
One reason many healer mains find healing gameplay to be mind-numbing is that we only have a single button, and hitting that single button over and over and over again just doesn't feel good. It doesn't feel quite as bad to me on a controller, mind you; possibly it's just because I'm so used to "hit X three times for this combo" or "hit X twice, then jump, and X again for this other combo" in a lot of action-y games that it feels less like I'm dead inside if I'm hitting one DPS button repeatedly there.
I agree that lengthy combos as the base attack rotation that exist seemingly solely to be lengthy combos start to verge on being a chore. But as someone who raids on her PC using keyboard/mouse, whoo boy, just hitting 1 repeatedly as a healer gets dull (and actually occasionally physically painful after a couple of hours of raiding).
An example of a combo sequence done well -- or at least, "done in a way I enjoy" -- is MNK. At each stage of the combo, you have three options; one is a high-potency single-target attack, one is a single-target attack that grants a buff or imposes a DoT, and one is an AoE variant. While I think the fact that MNK is missing the middle of its AoE combo for a breathtaking 15 levels down in ARR is a design choice I would at best term 'bewildering', overall I think it's a very satisfying design.
(I particularly liked it in ShB when every stage of the combo had a positional requirement -- and I joke that you cannot make me stop playing MNK as though that were still true -- but I also admit I'm weird.)
I know many, many games don't want to have clickable links because it helps enable phishing, but at the very least make the links included in system messages -- which can only come from SQEX -- clickable.
The middle ground I've personally used in the past is to make links clickable to trusted sites without confirmation and then otherwise put a 'this goes to an unknown site, are you sure you want to trust it?' warning message up. Which I like to think is a red flag if someone were to click on what they think is a link to the game's forums and get the warning message... but I can leave my own site and common ones like Discord ("join voice for callouts!") or IMGUR/Youtube/whatever ("This is the strat we're using.") ones that will launch without a warning.
While it's probably harder to define 'junk' in this game as I think only the Allagan [Tin/Copper/Silver/Gold/Platinum/Mythril/Uranium/Plutonium/Unobtanium/whatever] Pieces (and their ilk) are strictly speaking 'junk' that has no defined purpose other than sales to merchants (though you could sure make a strong case for like 80% of the fish in this game, which exist solely to be checked off the fishing log)...
What I want as a convenience button is a 'Greed All' or 'Pass All' button in the loot window. Moreover, I want a 'Remember this choice for the rest of the run.' checkbox.
If I'm in a current EX dungeon, chances are that I do not need any of the gear... but I will always Greed on it (including things for my current job that I could Need on) because I can use it to level desynthing or turn it in for company seals (which become glamour prisms or retainer ventures or random minion lootboxes); I'd love to be able to click 'Remember this choice.' and then click 'Greed All' in the first loot window of the dungeon and just not have to care for the rest of the run.
And if I'm in, say, Aurum Vale, I would very much like to be able to just 'Pass All' and call it good, because I promise you there's no chance I need any of that gear (and it's not even worth the inventory space to desynth or turn in for grand company seals).
You could even make the 'remember this choice' apply only to gear, so that -- for instance -- you don't have it accidentally greed/pass on a minion, orchestrion roll, or triple triad card that you wanted to Need on.
(It also doesn't need to force me to click 'pass' on something I literally cannot roll on. "You already have one of that unique item." Or in a current alliance raid, "You have already obtained one piece of gear this week." Fine, then why did you ask me if I wanted it?)
Better hairstyles
The recent island sanctuary hairs look very outdated compared to Lyse's hair or the Viera hairstyles
REPAIR EVERYTHING. Come on.
When searching for stuff on the market board, just load the page and not fail to load the page if I switch between pages too fast.
200% boost to damage to all bosses in dungeons, raid wides, tank busters and stack markers. I feel they don’t do enough
A hilarious example being in Stone Vigil, the final boss and the first boss both have untelegraphed cleaves, both do more damage to the tank than the all the tank buster damages in ARR-EW and are more frequent
Separate the damned craft menus by job and by level.
The current system and menus are confusing, and you have to manually search the menu for the item you need. A category for reaper / smn whatever job, the same for craft vs gather gear, separate from combat jobs.
Redo the levels on the gear as well, as its confusing to search for a level 55 piece of gear in the 56-60 menu, and please, for the love of heaven REDO the entire 1-50 gearsets, you get instances where you are eight levels different and theres no new gearsets of jewellery, mirror the actual craft hand in items from Rowenas so you can check them in the field.
Many nodes are also tagged as still collectible, but cant be handed in or broken down, they are essentially useless.
I would like to be able to give commendations for anything at any time. A limited number per day. (I think commendations are more likely to be removed than changed, which would be fine with me.)
I want to be able to toggle off minions landing on my head.
I want to turn off R2+R1/RT+RB to switch to random target. For me it's redundant and it's super annoying to realize I've switched targets when I meant to switch hot bars.
Alternatively, just give us a better search menu. Something where we can filter by name, but also could do "for job [X]", "for level [Y]", picking a set of gear to restrict to (e.g. weapon/head/chest/gloves/legs/boots/etc.).
Heck, give us "best crafted thing equippable at level [Y]", not just "for level [Y]". Right now if someone's like "can someone make me a set of gear? I'm level 48." I have to either go to external websites to figure out what the best thing they can equip in each slot is, or I have to use the marketboard and do 'search for job' with the maximum level set to 48 (or whatever) and then use the fact that gear is sorted by level requirement in that mode to figure out what the best crafted thing they can use at that level is.
...honestly, on reflection, I now think I'd prefer an improved search system to re-organizing the crafting lists themselves.
I think it's silly that players have to glitch the system in order to place things like a bed on a loft, among other things. The whole system is clunky and lacks a lot of common sense features. In short, it needs redone so things works. It should have never gone live in its current state.
I just thought of it another one that may have already been said but allow us to eat or drink items while sitting, it would add a lot to immersion in my opinion.
Why are buff and debuff durations still not shown on the party list?
I feel like debuffs are long overdue for a UI update to actually be readable to people. Personally, I think this FFXII example where the debuffs overlay the HP bars on the bottom right would be a good to add, specifically ones that can be Esuna'd. In XII, the overlay has a slow flicker and will cycle through every debuff on the target and flicker off.
I just want the chat window to collapse after [x amount] of inactivity like in, say, Guildwars 2.
And a toggle for job gauges to turn invisible outside of battle.
no more RMT,
shizzle is out of control,
they've infested EVERY server on the GAIA data centre,
Durandal is their home,
Porter named players with a number suffix to their name,
example:
Porter One, Porter Nine, Porter Twentyfive, Porter Fortyone
24/7/365 crafts, you can time their actions, etc,
Market place automation and overlords, most high priced items constantly being undercut, 20s of the same items,
retainers named AAAB, AAAC, AAAD, AAAE,
that would improve my quality of life,
*expletive*
here's one i got so used to kinda forgot about it a marketboard in the current end game hub city so i don't have to constantly teleport between Radz-at-Han and and old sharlayan
Pass remaining button.
This allows you to pass loots that you don't need after selecting a specific one.
Pin the loot window.
Sometimes I have a hard time clicking on loot because I end up dragging the window instead.
No.
More.
Chat.
Autoscroll.
For the love of all that is not obnoxious, I hate having it interrupt me -every single time- I try to scroll up and read a long post or whatever other item/NPC/etc line that was pushed up by other text incoming.
This is something exclusive to the Au'ra race, but... separate the horns from the face type.
