No.
What would happen is probably one of the follow threads:
SE should be ashamed of putting glamour gear locked behind Savage
How am I supposed to unlock the new glamour and take care of my 72 children?
New Savage glamour outfit rant.
Whoever thought about this idea...
... should probably be fired.
Is it just me that hate the new Savage?
"But I want it and I want it NOW! In 2-3 years no ones gonna wanna run this content as often ... that's like, right around the corner!"
Yeah, people nee to chill. I'm sure in a month it's gonna be hella easy to win one on one of your gear grind runs cause no one's gonna be rolling on it.
I really wouldn't take people's word on that at face value.
And believe it or not there's actually valid reasons to want more than one set.
Like to save on pure whites and jet blacks, instead of devoting 1 of your 15 glam plates to one of these expensive dyes you can just have both sets fully dyed pure white and jet black in your dresser. That's something I'm thinking about doing.
Also for forgetful people who may mistakenly blow up a part of the glam. I can't remember how many times I oopiesed an important lvl 80 gear. Hell, I've lost mog-station glams that I put in my dresser after moving around dresser stuff. I can see it now, I take it out the 2B set to put on some custom turn in NPC, forget about it being in outside of the dresser, run out of room when I'm doing something important annnnnd "Wait, what were those gloves I just tossed???".
I plan to get a 2nd set for the above reasons. Right now? Nope, I got one and I'm good on raiding til the reset or unless my friends wanna farm it tmr ... and part of the reason I WOULD farm it with them is to give them an edge in loot as I have a gear and coffer already. But at some point I'm gonna try for a 2nd.
Hopefully SE makes unlocking a coffer become a proper quest reward so you can just rebuy the set.
When farming trials with pugs, everybody will roll on all weapons even on jobs they haven't yet unlocked, this has been a thing since the beginning of time.
Stuff like this doesn't feel like a dick move to me, hek I'm actually surprised when I see people pass on stuff they already have. I always try to PM then and thank them for their kindness and thinking about others.
I'm going to have to agree with OP. The way the drops are done is horribly designed. I'm on my 20th run. Out of 57 coffers, I've only rolled above a 90 once and most of my rolls have been below 40. About 50 out of 57 have been rolls below 40. There is something seriously wrong with the RNG on this game.
Took me 10 runs on a roll of 95. That 95 I considered to be very lucky..
I won the pod on my first run with a 91, then the 2B costume with a 93 a bunch of runs after.
I really don't mind the way it's set up because I enjoy chasing after something. Much rather do this than swipe my credit card or just be handed it, but that's just me I guess.
My friends ran it with me over and over and we kept laughing and having fun.
The one thing I feel that needs to be fixed is once we win it..make it re-obtainable via a NPC like the calamity salvager. We don't need people lotting on it twice. I wouldnt be surprised if SE patches this eventually.
It's sort of funny to me that there seems to be a misconception about what people are willing to do for the item(s). The majority of the people who want the items clearly don't just expect them to drop into their inventory out of nowhere. They're perfectly okay with running the raid 10s or maybe even 100s of times to get the rewards, as evidenced by the fact that some claim to have run the raid upwards of 50 times even though the raid hasn't even been out for a week. It's not about not wanting to work for it or wanting it "for free." It's about the fact that the only way to get the items is completely based on RNG (and a little hope that people who already have the items don't roll again for more). With this system there is no light at the end of the tunnel so it's easy to see why people are getting so quickly dispondant.
Just make the items purchaseable with the tokens that already drop in the raid, even if they are broken out individually and not in a single coffer. That way at least you could still hope for good RNG while making progress towards getting the items anyway if the dice rolls continue to not go in your favour.
I just think it's funny that this is only an issue now. Nobody made a fuss about all the previous raid's minions having an abysmal drop rate, or there only being one crafting material, or Balthier and Vaan's outfits being locked behind RNG drops that aren't guaranteed to appear on every single run while Fran's is there for Viera from the get go. But when it's a cute waifu dress that has a 100% drop rate three times at the end of the duty, God forbid having to grind for it, amirite?
They could always make it so you can trade in the weekly coins for the glam chest later on, seems like something we can ask for and they can easily do.
I hear the worst part about the coffer for it is people can roll on it again even if they have the glam, if they use the coffer they won in a previous run before the next, and put said glam in a dresser or anywhere outside player inventory or armoury chest. If so, it pretty much makes it less fair for those who don't have the glam.
yup. They should make it so only those who have never obtained the items (coffer/cards/songs) can need on them. while those who have obtained them in the past should be locked to greed rolls.
Otherwise you just have people needing on them to troll, or to sell.
Opening the coffer should give an achievement. Those with the achievement could then re-buy the items from the calamity salvager, but be locked out of rolling on the coffer again.
And I'm not just saying this because the localization team loves puns and would probably call it something like "2B or Not 2B".
The funny thing is, I don't even care for 2B's outfit.
The actual raid gear sets look better.
I rather have 9S. They let males wear 2B's outfit
but they didn't let females wear 9S? I'm happy for everyone being
able to wear her's but man, 9S just looks so much better to me.
The tables have turned!
Now I know how the guys feel lol!
That said, not sure if oversight or what.
I can't see any other reason why they could possibly allow this.
If someone accidentally deletes a piece, just put it in Calamity Salvage and call it a day.
There isn't much there in the way of glamour imo.. but then I've bought only 2 sets because there was that one piece out of the whole thing that I wanted that has no readily available in-game equivalent. I've played many games that have a 'glamour' system (Perfect World remains the very best for an old game), and FFXIV is the only one where I have to really dig deep in the annals of time and space to find pieces that work well together, and then there is still the issue of them dying properly in the expected areas.
rolling vs 23 other persons is hard and i can't find any discord,pf etc for finding organized groups (-> people don't leave until everyrone got the loot)
I can't believe the player base has finally come to complain about just rolling for loot. This is sad, truly. Just run the content and hope for the best. That's how it's always been. They don't need to just hand everything to you on a silver platter.
THIS. If you have already gotten the outfit, you shouldn’t be able to roll on it again. While I agree that 3 coffers for it is a great start, having 3 coffers to roll against 23 other people with is a bit disheartening. I at least understand that this is the enticing factor to get people to do the content, which is going to happen regardless b/c this game is filled with Nier fans (myself included) who are just going to run it for the sake of it. My only opinion on the matter would be that they can have one 2B coffee per alliance so that THAT way, you’re rolling against 7 other people instead of 23.
I 100% agree that the coffer should be unique or locked. I won a coffer last night with a rill of 97, but also rolled 97 on a second one. It was a mad dash to change my roll to pass on the second one to keep from winning two, since I didn't want to be that guy who kept someone else, potentially, from winning it so I could get a second set I don't need.
They could even potentially fix this if they didn't want to keep people from getting more than one by saying you can only get one per week, not unlike the weekly loot and coin.
If the coffer is unique then you don't need to hit pass on the other ones. When you win one you'll automatically refuse any other coffers on the basis of one already in your inventory. Basically how the game handles that if I remember right.
Of course once you open it then it counts as not owning the coffer.
