I'm not too bothered by that tbh. I feel like some of them had good conclusions in HW. All SB did was drag the stories out. The only story I liked was DRK; I found a lot of the other job quest stories either okay or lackluster. I liked WAR's story in ARR and HW, until it regressed in SB with that nonsensical love story. PLD's was straight-up awful in SB. It felt more like a GLD questline than for PLD. I swear, that female Highlander is the worst-written character in the game. I was almost triggered to see her in the Little Lady's Day (and I PLAY Highlanders!), because she wouldn't shut up about her ex-boyfriend, who doesn't care about her and screws with other women. I wanted to grab her and say "HAVE SOME DAMN SELF-RESPECT!!" I couldn't remember some of the other quests.

That makes Deployment Tactics completely useless...
As a DRG main, I'm concerned about several things....
-Removal of Heavy Thrust. HT is basically a free 15% damage boost. I only need to re-apply it once every 30 seconds. So...am I getting higher attack potencies as compensation? I don't want to be nerfed! :(
-Gutting of Role Actions. While I guess I won't need Goad and Invigorate anymore, I still use Leg Sweep for interruptions, True North in situations where positionals are difficult, and Second Wind and Bloodbath for self heals. These are essential!
-Removal of main stat materia. I guess I can't meld Vitality on accessories anymore. That extra 5k of health or so has saved me several times. This is unfortunate.

As a new player I don't really understand what's relevant for me.
I just hope they are not watering down the gameplay too much.
While I'm excited about the tank changes, I was completely underwhelmed by the healer changes. "We're giving healers something they don't have much of right now - here WHM have another ogcd heal. SCH aren't healers enough, here some more heals." It honestly makes me wonder if anyone on the dev team plays healer much at all outside of the most basic content the game has to offer.
Pets are being adjusted for smn
-the 3 egis are having their skills consolidated into as few player actions as possible the example they showed was Aerial Blade, crimson cyclone and 1 of titan egis(I forgot this name sorry) are going to be Egi Assult 1 that you can put on your hotbar and it will change depending on egi summoned
-Pet resummoning will be instant
-aetherflow is reduced by 1 (may have timer reset outside combat it was really late by this point so if people could clarify be appreciated)

-losing protect
-going to have a bigger focus on healing
-Shields will be see able in the party list indicated by a orange bar this will appear above hp bar if at full hp or along the hp bar if not full hp
-Eos and selene are just cosmetic as they will function the same in 5.0

With MP and Piety changes, I wonder if MP management for healers will become easier? The only reason I never touched healer was because I never seemed to be good at MP management when in the healer role.
I have yet to see a game company making changes like these and get it right.

OT has no real reason to turn them off either, just holds out on turning them on until after the opener.
Unless we get encounters where you want your OT to NOT be 2nd on threat, theres no reason you want them not to be 2nd on threat. This is especially true if we keep shirk, because more threat early = better (non-reliance on provoke -> shirk) shirklejerking.
There will be a flood of info from media outlets on the 29th at 6am PST when the NDA on the media tour is lifted.
The caveat is that these things can still change before launch. We'll get patch notes before launch that are closer to concrete info but that's not going to come out until a day or two prior to early access so around the 26th or so of June.
