The point was to be like v1
It is x)
The wait wasn't fun for sure, but the FATE were "legacy" lol. You had no penalty dying so it was still fun.

This event has made me realize that large scale PvE battles are probably the thing I enjoy most about XIV.
It makes me wish they'd release even more battle content like tougher hunt marks on a regular basis.
I would have liked to seen the whole Dalamud Falls scene at the end.
There actually was none in 1.0 - when the time 'ran out', players were just automatically disconnected from the server with a 'server has encountered an error' message and were booted back to the launcher page, with the login fields replaced automatically by a banner that linked to the 'End of an Era' trailer on the SE Youtube page, there was literally no "Dalamud falls" scene in the actual game itself, it was out of game players saw that. It was still amazing though either way.
I loved the event
chaos and hectic its like 5 fates and there's both earrings
waiting for the NPC to pop is the real grind
Whatever scaling they have is too much for two DPS. While there appeared to be fewer adds when two of us were in the instance the boss was still one hit and your done with a huge health pool. Just a guess but I would say they scaled things for an 8 player group on the low end although 4 may work.
Not sure how relevant this is at this point, but it still seems the most people are stating that the recruiter NPC has a cooldown of ten hours after the the three hour event window ends. However, I had noted yesterday that he spawned at around 1PM EST while I was still at work. Didn't expect to seem him come up at all when I finally got logged in, but as I did so at about 7PM EST the NPC actually DID spawn, only three hours after the last spawn window would have ended. I still don't like the fact it despawns at all, but this does indicate that the event occurrences aren't as infrequent as many had been led to believe.
As for the event itself, it was definitely as chaotic as others mentioned. Even though I got killed off a few times by some cheap shots, it was still pretty fun though, and I managed to get both sets of earrings. I can only imagine how much more hectic these city-state invasions were back in 1.0 though lol.
Hm you may be right. But if people already land in nearly empty instances then the feature seems to not be functioning that great either. If they had it there all the time people could at least try when they want to and should still find some people to clear it.
It ended like this.

I don't think the randomness was supposed to be THIS random, otherwise what in the hell SE???!
I would like to do this event before I go to work today? Unless you would like me to quit my job and sit in front of my computer for 24 hours. I hope that isn't your intention with this event.
Unfortunately, a GM already responded to someone in-game. The event, dumb as it, is working as intended. Basically, you need to check back repeatedly to see if he spawns. No one is certain if there's any type of pattern but he does seem to rotate times, so you may catch him eventually if you're able to log on everyday.
It might also only appear on a few servers. I can confirm there were maybe only 4 servers represented in my go in the instance:
Mateus (myself and a friend)
Balmung
Goblin
Faerie
Sargatanas
So on top of it, it might be that every 3 hours it's on a different "batch" of servers every 3 hours. Since I've heard people waited longer then 3 hours at times (Imight be wrong) could be that some worlds might be devoid of it for 6 or more hours.
Also this is funny. It's like Eureka all over again, except we're just trying to get into the damn place!
"Working as intended" are you kidding me?! This, aside from eureka and housing, is the WORST decision made ever! gj SE, YOU RUINED IT!
I just logged on and the rising event is up in Zalera if you want to get in.
Its ok...the despawning is bad, but you need to only do it once at about 30 min or so to get enough tokens for the event. A schedule npc would have been nice. The event itself is nice, although SE likes chimeras and one-hit kill mechanics a bit too much. They have improved their instancing a bit, its possible to actually dodge the tells, and the draw distance isn't bad for essentially packing all of eureka into a tiny zone.
I find it even more sad that we have no information from the Devs or GM. At least some true confirmations that this is working as intended and maybe some words about the spawn timer.
Communication to the community is really something that need a huge amount of work..
I think what alleo is pointing out in his latter sentence is how we had to ask for this kind of confirmation. The general idea seems that we're fine with figuring things out, but stuff like this really needs to be disclosed, specially when they are fully aware that most of their playerbase has a working/student life.
I finally was able to get in there and do the event. I like the large scale events, however it locks you at lvl50 which I thought was lame.
But overall I enjoyed it.
Yes I meant more direct communication about the details. Since there seems to be different informations going around. (Some say 10 hours cooldown for example) Just make one post in all forums that at least tell us when they are meant to be spawned. This could help at least a bit.
Also its confusing because in someone else post that person stated that a thread about the NPC was pushed into the accepted bug part which makes this even more confusing. (On the german forum a GM did say that its also working as intended)
Is anyone else having issues joining the Fray for the event? The only thing I have found is that the minimum level requirement is lvl 15. I am trying to do this event on a level 23 lancer. Every time I try to join I get the class/job does not meet requirements error. I really wish they would stop being secret squirrels about these events. It is going to make me quit playing..... >< A little communication goes a long way!
I thought the level requirement was 30? Since that's when you get your job stone.
The initial quest requires level 15, but to join in the instance/FATEs however it's a level 50 cap, and trust me a level 23 character would be one-shotted several times over in there! So I think it means you really need to be around 45-50 to enter at least (if you're over level 50 you'll be level synced down), not surprising given it's a replica of the end of 1.0 events and level 50 was the level cap available in 1.0.
You get one shotted no matter what level you are :)
If you get caught in the AoE's and crap.
You can enter at level 30, but you will be oneshotted by every single attack then - unlike a level 50 who will be oneshotted by only half the attacks.
If you are below level 50 you will also have to work harder to get the max reward from the FATEs - just like for normal FATEs.
Yes, I finally figured that out. Apparently its lvl 15 to do the little Quest line to get the roll and minion, but its 30 to go into the Fray. They should have posted that, but meh. w/e Communication in this game sucks.

Yeah, they should have posted it somewhere.
inb4 waaaah, why would they expect me to ask the event npc for information? That makes no sense!
For a minute, I thought the event was over after getting the roll/minion.
This is dumb.
But what I find to be the worst is that the game doesn't really do much to direct you to the follow-up. I knew there were supposed to be other rewards, so something finally clicked that there should be more. The event page does nothing to disclose additional information. The vendor is none too clear. There's the non-interactive NPCs outside the city, but literally nothing around to even explain why they're there.
"To join the fray, speak with a Rising recruiter found in each of the three city-states."
The least they could have done is also say that he is not always available.
I'm sorry to say, but out of all the seasonal events, this one is absolutely retarded. I could only accept the explanation if it was actually a bug that the npc doesn't spawn, but even so that should've been hotfixed immediately. I'm actually ASTOUNDED that this got Yoshida's acceptance, if it's actually supposed to work like it is working now. Very VERY poorly designed all together with information missing while even doing the quest.
