Petition for more wards / instanced housing

I logged in this morning, just barely! And I ran as hard as I could to a plot in shirogane because a friend of mine told me it was still up, I had logged out in Lavender beds because I was going to be buying a friends large FC house since they were relocating but because of the severe lag on SE side for not updating it looked to me as though they hadn’t moved so I tried for the shirogane plot, which turned out to be the plot they had bought! This meant I not only lost out on the shirogane plot but I lost the plot they had told me about all because se didn’t get there act together, I have never felt so angry and upset by a game, I have spent a long time trying to raise enough money to get a large plot, and then I lost out completely, I even sold my medium just so I had enough money to even have a chance at getting a large, and like people say fc rooms and apartments are no substitute for owning your own house you have next to no ability to give it any flare and no ability to do anything

I happened to snag a small plot in lavender beds a few months ago, but I agree we need a lot more wards. How can free to play or buy to play mmos have better housing management? Not only do we purchase each expansion, but you also get at least $13 per player per month. Where's that money going? Can't you afford state of the art servers to keep up with your player population? One day I want a medium plot. I would like to be able to transfer from small to large sometime in the future.

And before I forget signed! This needs fixing!

If that's the explanation for deciding which subscribers get access to what content and which ones don't, then I'll happily remain unsubscribed when my time runs out. This isn't some temporary lockout because of excitement and overload, it's permanently broken and the response from SE is "So?"

The Dev's archaic view of housing may have worked back when not everyone had the money to get a house, but that was 2 expansions ago. A lot of people like myself, who weren't lucky to get a house back then have been hoarding our gil, meaning there are more people with money that are able to buy homes now and they have failed to meet that increase. Heck the amount of houses available doesn't even meet half the population on a server as is. Even then, most homes are being bought up by alts and house flippers. If anything PLEASE limit the amount of homes one account can purchase.

Edit: Holy shit, I thought I made a comment on the forums before? But I guess. Congrats Square, you pissed me off enough that I finally made my first comment.

To be fair... it's not like Square decides who gets a house and who doesn't. The housing is currently a free-for-all, so yeah they had no say in who got a house and who didn't. I agree it needs fixing though. It's far too limited and far too open to price scalping and other problems. Hence why I completely support the instanced housing option. Hell, they could even make instanced housing for personal housing only and leave the wards for the FCs and I'd be happy. Just... something. Don't make it easy, but don't make it impossible either.

Tried to log in full of enthusiasm, everything prepared only to be kicked off the game because of an error and by the time I was able to log in after the 1400+ player queue literally all the plots were gone.

Not that SE will actually care, seeing that 10+ year old MMORPGs have a better and fairer housing system than this garbage and they still haven't done anything to improve the situation, I might as well.

If you all post on Twitter about FFXIV housing, let's use hashtag #HousingGate. Maybe getting gaming news outlets talking about the problem will prompt someone to hit Yoshi-P up with a question that gets us an answer.
Mock this idea if you want, but if you were in on the 1.0 Beta and watched the responses to feedback before the game went live, you'd probably understand why it's important to find a way to actually get a response from these guys...

One might even be able to go as far as to say that they need to be saved... from themselves. For those who have houses, don't think this doesn't impact you when the scales begin to shift and your subs alone can't carry the game. The real question is: by the time they do fix housing, will it already be too late to save the game you love?

So long as me and my bestie don't get messed over by server problems again as well!

Ridiculous, everything was gone after 10 Minutes. Housing can hardly be called a feature this way.

But they absolutely have decided who gets a house and who doesn't. The lack of specificity in their choice doesn't change that the supply of house is laughably inadequate to support the player base. By limiting the amount of housing to such a severe degree it alienates not "the unlucky few", but the vast majority of active players in the best case scenario.

I don't care WHAT they do as long as they fix it.

Im so upset, i stayed up all night even though i work the next day. Saved up my gil all year, just wanted a medium house in kuragane. Wake up at 3am only to find launcher errors and then once it finally downloads the patch at 3:02am there is a queue of 1200 people and all the houses are gone. Seriously SE? Make enough plots for everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I pay a subscription like everyone else! SE either gave me a house or gave me a cut in my sub price.

I support more wards. I don't support instanced housing or ludicrous ideas such as FC only housing.

100% agree housing needs to be addressed. They never should of opened it to individuals, there's no benefit for them and now many fc' s have to go with out. Which costs them members that want the perks that go with it.

My suggestion: for future wards or instanced housing, make all plots the exact same size but give the players the option of adding a small, medium, or large house to their plot. This would help some of the bloodbath when trying to get to a house. Even though all plots would technically be the same size, to avoid wasted yard space, make a fence around the area depending on the size of the house (for instance, a small house would have the same size yard as the current small houses have, the medium house would have the same size yard as current medium houses, etc.).

I do think that 12 wards aren't enough and therefore they should add instanced housing but I also know that some people like to socialize with the others in their ward so more wards may be preferred for others as well. I think they should add three more wards (both in the regular and subdivisions) and then make the rest instanced housing.

Please create dynamic instance housing that you can spin up and down as needed.

There really needs to be more houses. An error kicked me as I went to character select and I got stuck in a queue. Of course everything had gone by the time I logged back on. I didn't even want shirogane, I was quite happy with one of the old areas.

I have a small FC house for my small FC in Lavender Beds. Had no intention of switching things up today, and even I think this system is beyond asinine. Fix this please.

Signed. The current system is just silly when so many other mmos are able to provide really nice housing for ALL players. Examples being games like Willdstar, Everquest 2, and SWTOR.

Signed. C'mon SE I've been a dedicated subber with no lapse in service since ARR and you mean to tell me after my years of service I'm not worth the investment for more housing wards? I work full time and can't be on at 6am for the nonsense others have articulated dealing with to get their respective houses so it's pathetic you are literally catering to the lowest common denominator of your fanbase. Debating if my sub is still worth it if we can't even get a feature we pay for.

but for the sake of instanced housing units, or at least for the expansion of apartments which are far too small. Housing in Balmung was sold out within the first 5 minutes, and apartments sold out within the first two hours. Clearly the system isn't working properly. It'd be nice to at least have instanced housing.

If you want people to have multiple housing, create dynamic wards or instanced housing.

At the very least if you don't want to create dynamic / instanced housing, limit housing to ONE per account.

My friend was unable to get us a house because of a long queue she had to deal with. The demand for houses is too high with a very low supply. It needs to change.
