I think you're vastly overestimating the number of players who are bored enough with this game that they would actually unsub.
Rush is not the cause but the consequence. If people rush, it's because they can do it. Even if it pisses me off, I can't really blame them. Dungeons are far too easy to run, game is not required any particuliar skill or concentration. Why a lot of people are doing their dungeons while watching Netflix or whatever ? That's a real issue here, the game content / balance. If dungeons were harder / more interesting and so on, people would not be able to rush. End of the problem. But it's like SE wants people to rush and farm and rush and farm...
No.

Ohh that actually brings me to that issue.
I've always been of the mindset that dungeons should be half an hour long, if not longer. As for increasing the time it takes to make it longer sadly nothing with how they view dungeons or with the way they store data. Not saying to remove combat entirely, but puzzles would be nice (not easily doable). Something more feasible would probably be actually incorporating gathering/crafting in it somehow. Especially gathering. It could be that you need to do a dungeon to gather a rare item which can only be gathered inside of said instance. I'm a little inclined to say this wouldn't be too tedious to incorporate given we could gather in Diadem (perhaps I'm ignorant) but I guess you'd be hardpressed to actually find someone with FSH. (Ofc have to set to a low level) But at least it'd make that area of content a little more attractive for the PR I guess. If they can make it stretch past the extent of kill everything on the way from A-T, then finding ideas to extend how long a dungeon takes shouldn't be a massive problem.
Funny enough I was at one point hoping it'd be incorporated into PotD somehow.
I agree it felt like a waste of money once I was done cause it was back to the same old same old, did they spice up dungeons at all no pull all mobs>run to end>AOE everything same as usual,Boss fights=turn boss around and sit there staring at bosses butt attacking till dead same as before. They put out content faster then any other MMO but it never changes anything nor is your grinding rewarded with anything as whatever you work towards is just going to be over written and everyone just starts over every patch.
I am bored with the same formula mostly cause all the new exciting things never made it into SB and its always its coming in 4.x or 4.0X or 4.XX Please Look Forward to Itâ„¢ but it may just be more of the same its not like they are just going to give us something completely different then what we've seen before thanks to the new hotness that is "Server Limitations".
Erm. Are you expecting your current gear to always be the best even when new content comes out?
I feel like too many people view their iLvl as both the means and the end. iLvl is only important to get to the next content. Once you can clear all the content, additional iLvl is just bragging rights. iLvl is a tool that SE uses to get players to play through the majority of the content. It helps discourage end-game content skipping.
Heavensward was really something Hellluuuuuu
I am waiting till patch 4.1 drops, they said that Eureka will be something fresh and new so I hope that this content will show promise of what is to come with Stormblood.
Ending to SB sucked. Made a joke way back about why don't they have the whole story about x (they did) and at the end y happens (and it did) So it's kind of predictable story and outcome but I wouldn't say I wasted my money. But definately have the "clocking in" feeling each day I log in.
Isn't it so that posting about this implied boredom actually is contradicting that very statement? Because you are clearly reacting to stuff you are implying to be bored about? In other words, if you were actually totally and utterly bored, with all of this, you couldn't even be bothered to post about it because of said boredness? :)
I have to admit that I'm really sick and tired of the existing tome system. This will be the fourth year of grinding the same job. Palace of the Dead was a good idea, but the XP really needs to be boosted. Other MMOs add a massive amount of XP to old content because it's boring, and people don't want to play it over and over. In FFXIV, it's exponentially worse because now we have a TON of jobs to grind. But the only thing this accomplishes is having an alt job to queue and do the same thing over and over. I think people are just getting tired of maxing out all of the jobs because there is no major incentive to them.
The real failure here is the inability to realize that people are tired of grinding dungeons.
Palace of the Dead doesn't teach you how to play your job, it gives you the basics. So increase the XP significantly so people can get to 70 and start learning how it works.
We have this already ingame, PotD
I prefer if people learn that dungeon parties work different than PotD parties in lower levels and not at level 70. I don't want to be in a party with a tank in a lv 70 dungeon who think he can run it like PotD.
I'm happy that the PotD exp is nerfed for lv 60+ jobs and that people learn how to play the right way within a party before reaching lv70 content by forcing them to level up outside of PotD.
