The constant disconnects

Ever since the July 6th maintenance I've been getting disconnected either during the loading screen or about 5ish seconds after loading into the game. It happens every time I try to get on without fail. It's happened both in Kugane and in Mist, since I was able to get in long enough once to get a teleport off before getting kicked.

I'm on the Sargantanas server and am located in the US, Georgia specifically.

State/Country: Sweden
Date/Time: Ever since the server restart on the 5th July
Frequency: Constant. Upon teleporting, mounting up, fighting, geting into a dungeon, the game throws me out
Character Name/World: J'shrah Moth on Gilgamesh(aether)
Location of your character: No specific location, happens in every zone I go to
Steps: Tried restarting all hardware, computer. Tried changing DNS to google DNS. Eventually started using a VPN from north america, all problems disappeared since, but is not a viable long-term solution as I'm only using a free trial while waiting for the issue to be resolved.

Edit: Seems to be stable for me now without using a VPN.

An update from last night:

No dcs at all so far which I'm pleased about but there is still a bit of latency since implementation of 4.01

Steps: This - more often than not - occurs before/during/after zone transitions; even if they are done by oher party members i.e. leaving at the end of a dungeon. Sometimes even without any specific steps needed too; just waiting around in a city can cause this.

Date/Time: Constantly.
When did the issue start happening? 2 days ago.
Frequency: Always.
How often does the issue occur? Whenever I cast anything. Magic, abilities, teleport, or even mount whistle.
Character Name/World: Shion Baku, Balmung.
Location of your character: Anywhere.
Steps: Cast, get kicked.

State/Country: United States
Date/Time: Few times a day throughout.
When did the issue start happening? Early access(June 16th)
Frequency: 3-4 times throughout the afternoon until the evening which it subsides.
How often does the issue occur? Happens when I either enter a dungeon or a trial or when I load in and then it boots me out or when I leave.

Since today and after 4 daya of perma dcs i played completely fine and 0 lag (south america-ultros-ps4), i didnt do anything tho, i didnt change any internet settings. But still many people are having this disconect and lag problems, also if i get those random dcs again ill post it here.

Would you mind following up on this in a few days? I'd like to know if your normalized state was just a fluke.

Been working fine for me today. Didn't change any IP settings or anything. I just logged in again and it seems to be working for me, personally, again.

I still dc... It seems to be better but this morning i had 2x 90006 while teleporting and 1x 90002 in the middle of the first omega fight :(

I played this mornign totally fine for a few hours. did a few omega runs and all my roulettes without a DC. Didn't change anything or use a VPN

This is also happening to me non-stop in Famfrit. :(

Saturday was fine; no DC's at all; no random errors. I was able to get all of Omega done; and today? 90002's back in full force. Good job guys; good job. It was nice to get one day out of it. It's a shame because Omega 1-4 was so fun >:c

I DC at least 2-3 times a day...always when either using the MB, FC chest, or Retainer (selling on MB window) - perhaps some sort of data overflow? idk it just started after the latest hotfix

As another update to go along with this, on Saturday my friend and I were actually able to stay logged in. PotD, instanced content, overworld, we stayed online for about 8 hours without issue. Today, we're back to 90002/90006 every few minutes.

He could be running, standing still, doesn't matter - but the 90002 error is sudden and happens without warning.

Location of your character: Any instanced dungeon content = massive lag, any palace of the dead content = constant 90k errors.

Please provide the steps taken before encountering this issue: Playing the game after around 9pm results in huge unplayable amounts of lag followed by disconnections when playing instanced dungeon content. Attempting to play Palace of the Dead results in frequent and very quick 90k errors kicking me off every 20 seconds or so.

Pretty sure this is a Virgin Media issue, but I'm reporting it here too just in case. I recently had them out to check my router out and they sorted out an upstream power level issue and replaced a modulator, while that fixed some other issues I was having it hasn't done anything for FFXIV. The strange thing is, outside of instanced content the game works just fine, no issues at all, but if I go into instanced content, some evenings it just goes crazy with lag and disconnections.

When did the issue start happening? Since the release of SB was sporadic, but since the 4.01 patch has become daily to the point of not being able to play.

Steps: At the moment of connecting to my main character it takes several seconds on the loading screen before giving the 90006 error. On other occasions I get to see my character but I can not do any action and a few seconds error 90006.
This only with a character of my account, the others work without any problem.

Please help!!!!! Omega and my fc are making fun of me T.T

Date/Time: Initially I had some problems on the 2 July, AEST. It was a lot worse on the weekend of 8/9 July, and made getting past the lobby essentially impossible today.
Frequency: Very frequent. It wasn't initially
Character Name/World: K'pandolu Tokha/Cactuar - I haven't really been able to get to any characters today, though.

Steps: Previously, it didn't seem to really be triggered by anything particularly- it did happen during some instances, and after triggering a quest fight, but a couple times it was just while I was standing there. Today it was happening on trying to access a data center- I was able to log in a couple of times, but got hit with another error very soon after.

Still happening. My friend has been able to connect for about 30 minutes at the longest, 5 minutes on average.

I, however, tried using a VPN and routing as close to the data center as possible to try and avoid those Level3 hops. Absolutely zero issues. No lag and no disconnects all week, except for that major spike a couple days ago. Today the free trial for the VPN ran out, so I tried logging in without it enabled, immediate 90006 upon talking to an NPC.

I had this problem in the weekend and now again.
I've tried to log on about 7 times, ranging from 18:00 to 21:00, keep getting disconnects.
Usually I don't even bother since I've better things to do with my free time than keeping my fingers crossed.

Few times I managed to log on but than it disconnected me with in 2 minutes, or it just lagged out the moment I spoke to a NPC.
These problems are happening quite a lot.
I could easily say that 10 days of my sub have gone to waste because of the servers are not working.
That and well I can only play at the evening.

I'm getting a bit tired of it, and it feels like a waste of money.

I already go for 2 weeks with the same problem, every time I try to connect with my main character I get the seconds with the error 90006, has there been any communication or some information of SE? The last thing I knew of them was that they were investigating.

I'm getting 90k' literally whenever I try to switch zones now... What's going on?

Same issue, also Netherlands, started today, 18/07, provider is Ziggo. I tried to restart router and everything. Every time I'm in an area with a lot going on (NPC's, players) but also in instances I just get 90006 errors constantly. Sometimes I get it when I log in. Everything worked fine last week, what gives?

How often does the issue occur?: Personage has a delay, is thrown out of the server every time, Teleport gives a lot of trouble. Duty finders run fixed and server disconnected connection

New Character created in world (Zodiark) what works fine but transfer of my main Character to Zodiark is not possible must wait for 90 days
Square Enix tell all the time that the problem is not on there servers but on mine ISP what is not possible because then a second Character should also not be worked.

If Square Enix does not seem to solve the problem, or if the ISP scams it, they will be paid by the users, so you can expect some more service from a game maker like Square Enix. And also the possibility that you can not move a character from the world even if you want to pay is different.

Hopefully Square Enix will do everything possible to solve this problem as quickly as possible, otherwise they will play our two Final Fantasy players who have been introduced since that Final Fantasy.

Why should people who practice all forms of fighting technique after many months of training and invest a lot of time in a game all over again have to start with a second character because Square Enix's servers are ........ They must make sure everything works and stays working ???? We do the users pay for it ????

I'm having the feeling that the problem lies with SE and their servers, not so much with ziggo.
It is not the first time that this game is plagued by dc's and becomes unplayable because of lag.
The issue is only with ARR , no other online game seems to have this issue.

I called Ziggo today to ask about this issue, and even pointed them towards a very specific IP that my packets get routed through to get to the EU SE Servers (213.46.182.142) which has about 75% packet loss.
If I route to their NA servers everything is fine, and I can also play there without any issues.

For what it's worth, the Ziggo representative also said they noticed some issues with this specific network, and they would have their technicians work on it, but they couldn't give me any estimation on how long it'd take, or if this is even the problem causing this.

I've received a similar response from Ziggo long ago when ARR was 1 month out.
Same problems and they traced it back to it being a problem caused by SE their network/servers.
Eventually SE solved it themselves, but well here we are yet again.

Support replied with the following and maybe this will work for other people too, but it helped Suteki.

Access: Document\My games\FFXIV folder
Open: FFXIV.cfg in notepad or something similar as Admin.
Find: <Network Settings> and edit UPnP 1 to UPnP 0

Since we've done this she has been able to teleport normally, access retainers, access merchants and hasn't been 90kd so far.
