Filled with more Rich lore than the other playable races and having a very unique culture? If so then I'm sold.

If we're gonna get any beastmen race. I want it to be the Vanus.
+1 For playable Lupin race. More races is more better.
No thanks. But if they are willing to make a beastmen race playable, then I would also like for Moogles to be a playable as well. >:D
A bad-ass gentleman thief race would be pretty kickass in my opinion.
I mean if they add it, it will have been the 3rd time I will have used a Fantasia.
It would kind of be cool i think.
Or maybe add some faerie like folk
Please! Really want Lupin as a playable race.
Couldn't see it fitting into the lore at all, but I would love to play as one of the Ronso from FFX.
I don't know why people say Lupin is not lore friendly, they are smart as other domans and live in with them.
I would LOVE this to be a new race. I think it would look cool running and fighting as a NIN, but one thing that comes to mind is...what about all of the helmets in game? don't you think that will be a LOT of reworking on helmets to fit the head...and even more so if you add decent customization such as snout long/short, ears, face width.
Imo Lupin are a bit far for a playable race. I'm fine with beastier races, but I want ones that aren't going to add development time to armor and glamour pieces, because then we would get fewer. I would vastly prefer that they go the "textures and smaller features" route of creating beast races - shorter/longer/stockier/thinner limbs, fur, fangs, subtle snouts, stuff that doesn't require heavily remodeling every single helmet, boot, etc in the game to fit them correctly.
To me, that would make sense is not only Viera, but also Bangaa and Nu Mou became available with the coming of Return to Ivalice raid. And Moogles coud become a playable race too.
While I admit its a cheap way out,if they can do it for the belt (wear but never show) I can see them doing it for Lupin with armor that wouldn't work with their face as is. Give us the eye patch, hats and such but stuff such as face masks or full helmets are worn, but not shown. As I said, its a cheap way out but one I'd be fine with if it means they become an option.
SE cant even put butts on miqote and you expect them to add in a doge race.
We already have cats, we don't need a doge race.
Especially, since it's known worldwide that cats and dogs don't really like each other. This will cause a conflict.
And also:
- You have done well, Warrior Of Light.
- Woof!
- Here's your reward.
- Woof-woof!
-cough-
I'm pretty sure Lupin will be one of the Beast races that we will have to get reputation for, so I don't think they'll be playable.
You guys can try to convince yourselves that they aren't beastmen but I'm gonna have to go with alphinaud on this one.

And yet they're 'working for' the Garleans, who are known to kill beastmen whether they will summon a Primal or not. Either there's a plot-hole, Varis zos Galvus (who wanted to kill the Zundu Vanu Vanu) is lenient to his sons decisions, or Lupin aren't the typical beastmen we're familiar with (compared to others, they're the most 'human').
So we'll go with plot hole, then.
Aren't Miqo'te like peak Furry? Surely we got it covered?
I just feel like it doesn't make sense that they have a similar figured models to the other races. If they really wanted to, they could have made them look way differently. All the beast tribes all look unique in their own way except the Lupin... But seeing how they are model just seems like it's suggesting it as a race...
So why not have the Lupin as a race?

Just posting as a joke, kinda lol
Honestly they seem the easiest to implement if they were/plan too simply because they are so close already. Unlike the Amal'ja, Sahagin and others that would include a massive amount of work to implement as playable, they are pretty much right there ready to go. I mean granted the only ones we see now are gray furred ones (unless I missed some?) so would probably need that option in customization and while the head would be a new problem (unless they want to extend the face gear to fit it) I could do without. Let us have our eye patch, hats, glasses but anything that would cover the face consider it invisible?
As for the whole furry thing, I think I would take that over those who keep trying to push the whole "lalafell are children" thing.
I agree with this assessment, I reckon the Kojin and Ananta will be regular beast tribes with the Namazu as the crafting beast tribe set.

The Lupin were pretty well integrated into Doman society, now that Doma is free I imagine they'll start slowly blending back in. Not much beast tribe potential IMHO.
Ronso is still my #1 pick for races I wish were implemented, but I'd take Lupin any day over something like Viera simply because they're visually infinitely more interesting. That said, my faith in SE has slowly been whittled down these past few years, soooo...I'm not exactly getting my hopes up for anything even remotely interesting. Given how much I've ranted about this on the forums, I realize I'm probably starting to sound like an insane conspiracy theorist, but SE clearly has a favorite type of character, especially when it comes to the women.
Moenbryda dies in the patch after she was introduced, but Y'shtola is still around after being sucked into the Lifestream and almost cut in half. But don't worry, SE won't leave you hanging during SB, M'naago and Yugiri are around plenty. Ysayale, who is arguably a main character at one point has some genuinely good character development and even becomes one of the good guys, but she doesn't even survive the initial HW story. Yotsuyu, who is a terrible one-note villain (sorry, "I had a shit life" doesn't magically excuse all the horrific things you've done) for the entirety of the story, should have died, but noooope, SE can't kill off their sadistic waifu because she's just so kawaii!
But I digress. I just don't trust SE to make characters, specifically women, playable or otherwise, that don't fit into a specific mold anymore. Granted, one could argue it's what the players want, but on the other hand, SE hasn't really given me a reason to think they're even trying in that specific department.
So, I guess what I'm ultimately getting at is: better get ready for Viera.
I like it. We've liberated Doma and the Lupin are pretty much on the same level culture-wise as all the other humanoid races, as is displayed by the fact that they live together in the Doman villages, even wearing the same clothes and performing the same tasks. Plus, they are the only known beastman race to date sensible and civilized enough to not summon a Primal despite the conditions in Doma. Heck, they're even more civilized than the Au Ra tribes in the Azim Steppes!
I support the Lupin as a playable race. Being able to play a beast-like race that's not just humans with different horns or ears feels like a breath of fresh air in FFXIV.
