I think people are just concerned about the what will happen to DRG if they do add it. (Them 'balancing' the job and all)

If they could make it so that neither the DRG would be so dependent on the Wyvern and that the Wyvern could still be incredibly useful, then by all means add Wyverns into the game. But, until then keep them out. Maybe add a quest later to introduce them if they can achieve this.
As time goes on finding mages will become harder and harder since their skills are in high demand for lvling up easily. With every two non-magic classes there needs to be a mage class.
I vote caster.
my beloved job so sorely missed
T H F
rainbow mage. can cast all teh colors of teh rainboes
Pet class, or summoner.
TIME MAGE!
I want meteors.
They should release it as a XIII-2 promotion, being as that's about time travel! They could have so many interesting abilities but I think they were neglected in FFXI because spells like haste, bind and slow were readily available to other classes. They aren't here though!
Edit: As a second choice, a scout class with access to jobs like thief (DD) and dancer (buffs/debuffs NOT healing) as others have said would be awesome.
Blue mage..
Scout class if it can have Corsair as a job.
I would vote for Samurai
Multi-pet class I can has that? SE no not know how to balance multi-pet class? oh my bad.
Wow, what an interesting read, all of this.
Lots of people are leaning towards a "Pet Class" type. While I agree that it would be interesting to see, I have to say that I am far more interested in another "Mage Class" type. The balance of Melee and Casters are way off in numbers sake.
Everyone here makes some pretty good points, though. There was one poster that stated that the jobs should come out in pairs or threes and I agree with that. There should be a bit of variety when these new jobs come down the shoot. True, some players may be even still trying to level the other jobs, but that extra spice of variety wouldn't hurt. I say bring them out in pairs, if possible. Maybe a Melee type and a Caster type to satisfy both sides of the fence. Or, just bring the "Pet Class" and the "Caster class" out at once.
pet
or sword-sorcerer, if the later constitutes a caster class
Beastmaster/Summoner please...
Again, please please please please PLEASE do not make BST a class and SMN it's job.
It would make more sense to make Tamer -> Beastmaster and Evoker -> Summoner to me.
Yes.
This could work, although I personally like the idea of Beastmastery (taming) leading into Summoning Demi Gods.Quote:

The former case would be used if SE was looking to add more than a few new classes. Regardless, I like the idea that these classes should be Solo classes, but that''s just meh.
/10 PET CLASSES
Job is perhaps as good as class for "pet" summoner. I presume the choco's in party will be an elementary variant of this if multiple fighting choco's per player are being considered. If there are limitations on number of total players including pets then as class "pet" does not work as well with parties(limited to 8 players).
A pet class (Pet user+Debuff) +1
My suggestion is Musketeer/Machinist
Snipe
The Main Skill for Musketeer.
Elemental Bombs.
Elemental Bombs have Elemental crystals inside that burst when ignited, and causes a cloud vapor that effects enemies within the area for the duration. so here are some examples.
- Light Bomb - Creates a bright flash that blinds, and enemies are more susceptible to Light based damage.
- Fire Bomb - Burn Damage over time, and enemie are more susceptible to fire based damage.
- Ice Bomb - Cold Damage over time, and enemies are more susceptible to Ice Based damage.
- Thunder Bomb - Shock damage over time, and enemies are more susceptible to Thunder based damage.
- Earth Bomb - Earth Damage over time, and enemies are more Susceptible to Earth based damage.
- Wind Bomb - Wind damage over time, and enemies are more susceptible to wind based damage.
- Dark Bomb - Enemies ar more susceptible to dark based attacks, and weighs them down causing slow movement.
Grenades
Grenades are thrown, and explode upon impact, and are your basic non elemental Damage.
- Frag Grenade - Single Target Damage.
- Cluster Grenade - AOE Damage.
Throw Item(Cross Class Skill)
The ability ro throw potions to your Teammates.
Automation(Mechanical Pet)
If implemented in XIV there would have to be a much needed way to customize AI (Gambit System), and an overhaul on pet commands.
Examples.
- Attack - Attacks at close range while keeping close distance to the enemy at all times.
- Defend - Defense Greatly increases while guard is up, but renders the pets attack speed.
- Protect - Stands infront of a selected party member absorbing all damage.
- Range - Keeps far distance from the enemy, while using ranged attacks and spells.
- Return - Stops what its doing and returns by your side.
Customizing Your Automation
There should alot of different parts to customize your pet, from different heads, bodies, arms, and legs etc.
- Head Slot
- Body Slot
- Arm Slot
- Leg Slot
- Feet Slot
- Weapon Slot (class select)
- Sub Weapon Slot

Check out My Sig
I would be the happiest man alive if this was implemented.
Scout, pet, then caster, in my opinion.
Pets/Beast master, Caster, Thief
Pet class for me.
I've been dying to tame beasts in Eorzea and have them follow me around and fight for me for over a year now. I can handle going without the other two if that means a pet class could come first. But most likely they'll choose what's needed over what's wanted more first in a realistic scenario. But they did say a pet class was coming, so I'm very happy regardless. However, sooner or later that may be~
THIEF!! the best original class from 11 :D
Personally it'd be more versitile to see a scout class or a pet class. And for all of those in denile pet class would be more closely to a beast master/tamer not a summoner. Silly kids summons are for free companies. But I would love a scout class since they don't have a definite thief since pugilist is more like a monk anyway.
I would like to see a pet class next.
I am hoping this question isn't in the polll, and that the next job, which is supposed to be a caster, isn't changed to a melee. I will seriously go on a rampage.
Oh, I would love a Gambit style System for pets in this game. The fun would be able to build out several different gambit profiles allowing you to have different roles in which your "automation"/"pet" would act. Tank, healer, nuker, debuffer, etc... There would be a lot of good possibilities. :)
A pet class would be awesome. I really liked my SMN in FF11.
I don't count Black Mage, or White Mage. They are just an extension of Thaumaturge and Conjurer.
I would like a new caster to level. There's already five DoW, there isn't a need for a sixth. There is no way that pet class is going to be summoner, that leaves Beastmaster, or something entirely new.
The poll is unfair as well like Yoshi-P showed from the first poll, melee damage is the highest played class. He said that caster was going to be implemented next, then pet class, because they weren't sure how summoner was going to work out yet. Now he's gonna leave it up to the majority of players to decide between a new melee, which was named Scout/Thief, versus anonymous caster!?
Bull.
I would definitely go with the introduction of a pet class, then more mage classes and more pet classes at the same time. Melee already has 5 classes, we definitely need more mage classes though.
