So it looks like STR tanks are not necessarily going away
Stop kidding yourself, strength tanks ARE going away, I'm not sure why the tanks are complaining, you are getting WAY more HP and a very small DPS lost.
It is a win win for everyone.
Hmm at 0.45 / 0.45, all secondary stats are (slightly more than) 2x as important as before. So when you can have 50 CRIT, when that would theoretically work out to 7 str before, it is now equal to 14. So if you can choose to have CRIT/DET over Parry, then you should go that route for more DPS. You should only apply as much VIT as necessary to survive tank busters and following damage - as before.
they will tweak it until str tanks are dead.... please look forward to it! So why not get over it and move on?
This makes me a sad panda
I did the new dungeons with like 27k hp. The healers didn't even dps and I barely lost any hp. I'm not saying or blaming it on healers, but I often see people playing healers, refused to dps when there is nothing to heal. Yes, I'm aware you play healer class and not dps. But think when everyone, dps, tanks and healers do a lot of dps, those dungeons will last for only 15 min instead of 30. I rather run something quick than doing it slow, but that's probabaly me :).
Edit: I see people say; if you want to do big numbers, you might as well play dps. First of all, when you have a lot of dps from every class in a raid or a dungeon, the faster you kill a boss, the less mechanics/heals/cd's are needed to be used. Or you can take extra 20 min on the same boss with low dps and run out of mana. Your choice :).
To me, they look as bad as usual. What are they gonna last, a couple more hits since they don't even know how to use CD's? Nothing changed when they went full VIT before, nothing is gonna change now because what they did is not how VIT, or Parry, mind you, works, it was just a straight nerf to STR.
So everyone has cried this will hurt dps( even tho pally got a nice buff to its skills :D about dam time)
So does this hurt tanks? Imo that 30-49 vit only really translates to about 1200-1600 hp total for Paladin and Dark Knight, while War benefits more with defiance they only gain around 2-3k more hp...
So does this really do much? Or am i mistaken on the stat changes and have they added even more vit to Tank gear, cause as im seeing it only the stats you put in will need to now go into Vit the gear stats havnt changed.
So i see some WARS now doing 3k Fell Cleave. I think that is pretty much RIP in damage lol
Well from a friend who mains a war he even said a War that out dps the DPS was pretty stupid idea tbh. Even dps that is geared could be out dps by a war with lucky crits. My only concern is Vit doesnt provide much hp or even any def for each Stat point so i seems very redundant when compared to Stre.
Not only that War was making Pally and even Dark knight look obsolete due to the insane dps it could put out, how many Dark knights do u see for end game content...barely any.
Guess I'm confused a bit, most tanks were runnign melds or some sort of strength on the right side accessoreies so its a fair bit more than 20-49 vit increase. The HP is nice, but the nerfs to damage are much bigger than I believe people were expecting based on the interviews with Yoshi-P that had come out. So the swap to straight vit will yield a higher HP pool and equivalent attack to str accessories on the right side.... basically. With melds basically being thrown out then that makes those a non-competitor.
This all changes though because tanks are still gonna want to avoid parry, and will probably use other gears to avoid that secondary since now the stat weights for secondary stats have effectively doubled.
A decently geared WAR will be around 26-27 k HP in defiance now. To be fair though, the only DPS a WAR outdid even before the nerf was a DPS that didn't know his job well.
After a day of doing duty finder as a WHM and observing how the tanks are doing, I do have one thing to say.
The new tanks have so much HP/take so much less damage before you have to heal them that healers no longer have any excuse to not switch on Cleric Stance and start joining in the DPS as well. Because I found so much downtime to DPS in the new dungeons compared to before. A Divine Seal'd Regen is enough for almost every pull in the new dungeons. Asylum can be tossed out for larger pulls.
Although it also feels like my attacks are missing a lot more often than before too...
I gained a paltry 34 attack power from my previous 799 with full vit accessories at the expense of over 200 attack power using slaying accessories since the patch. "A little less" damage is an understatement for anyone who knows how to juggle defensive cooldowns with Grit off on familiar boss battles.
