Relic: Your progress on the Grind.

Update: 52/80 which will soon be 52/240 since I intend to build all 3 Healer Relics.

I'm planning on getting three more 200 relic wep but only one of those may ever see 210.

I'm taking this very casually, mainly just doing roulettes. I've done a bunch of maps too, and yet to get one single item from maps. I'm at approximately 23/80. However, I also have 5 Awoken weapons.

I'm honestly not sure which healer I even want to complete relic on. I love the Majestas, but my raid group has a WHM. I love SCH and AST, but find the looks of their weapons very unappealing (especially SCH).

A lot of my motivation for this relic is gone, and I'm having a real hard time getting it back.

5 more seeds left and im done.

I'm on the home stretch, just unsure of how to proceed at a decent pace since I hate A2, can't think of a way to get Poetics en masse, can't do Sahagin dailies, and getting one from a treasure map is extremely unreliable.

I can (probably) afford to buy or get myself the components for the merchant goods though.

That is part of my frustration with these unidentifiable items - the Poetics. Roulettes give none unless you're running Main Story, which I'm sick of. So, then you're stuck spamming old dungeons.

That is not something I complain about. However, I don't want to run old HM dungeons 272 times just to get these pieces.

I was counting on having this issue also. Since a2 and a3 are the longest to farm i wanted to completely avoid them altogether. Basically what I did was put everything into shells or ore when i had the option to (either from hunts, vanu, or tomes which give you an option on what to buy in some cases) My priority was Shell > Ore > Bones > Seeds. Shell takes priority on poetic (due to poetic scarcity in comparison to law) and Ore on law. Even with piority on Shell, Ore managed to max out first. Since a4 is the quickest farm I put that as last priority and focused on farming a1 when I had time. TBH I haven't spent a lot of time farming alex but I have been doing my beast tribes, daily roulette's, and hunts (emphasis on ARR hunts) I've personally found hunts to be extremely effective means of acquiring items due to getting allied seals/law/poetics all at the same time. As for beast tribes i had all at max before the relic came so I started on the 4 arr and as I capped on Ores i moved to vanu to try and double on shells until they maxed. I know this may not be possible if you haven't gotten those tribes completed yet.

As far as the crafted items I would go the route of buying/farming the mats and having someone craft it for you as some of the completed items are selling for large amounts on my server and not everyone can afford them. However the mats themselves aren't terribly expensive or hard to acquire in some cases and will let you get the item made without the 200% mark up on price from the MB depending on server.

On my server and with a number of my friends, they'll run clear groups for poetic bonus for the Ex Primals and Coil T1 to T5 and so on. Poetics for me and many of my friends aren't the issue, it's the law tomes. Hunts are also a great source of poetic tomes. I'm 32/80 towards my second relic and I haven't farmed Alexander for the most part. Don't really enjoy that.

Hunts, main story roulette, level 50 roulette, trial roulette (in some cases) and beast tribes are good ways to get poetics that i've found.

Also try queuing for story mandatory trials during peak hours and there is a good chance you'll get the new player 60 poetics bonus for like 5 min run plus the 12 or 15 it gfives you for the duty. (Shiva, ramuh, mog, etc.)

Sitting here with my Hvergelmir. Starting my AST relic and about 4/80 so far. Meanwhile, I am farming crystals for both my DRK and WHM. I might have a completion is problem. :D

You can get them from the Lv50 Dungeon Roulette as well.

It's still not a phenomenal speed, but it does help.

To everyone telling me "Do hunts!"... I hate those as much as I hate A2, if not moreso, and as a solo player they're not easy to do anyway.

The progress is slow, but it's going. Hard part is that the 2nd half of the tokens will be a pain to get simply because I refuse to do Level 60 and Expert roulettes if they're going to be the same two dungeons anyway. <_<

I did say people. I'm saying that every given decision and change will have people happy and upset. You said you didn't like running old content for pieces, and then there are people who are upset that old content has no use. I just find it funny, I guess it is forum fuel.

Any tank class can easily get full credit solo by going in tank stance and spamming enmity combo.

WHM can do it too - just Benediction whoever's tanking. Fair warning, you may end up with hate.

It's not a question of difficulty, it just so happens that people tend to swarm any hunt mobs and without a linkshell or something to give you a heads up the likelihood of getting there before it's dead is low.

I also just don't like hunts. Is that... is that difficult to understand?

It's funny though. The Aetherochemical Research Facility is currently not available through the Roulettes, but the dungeon itself gives 120 Law Tomes. If you get a player in that dungeon, that's an additional 40 to 60 Law Tomes. So, it's a pretty good place to farm Law Tomes for the Relic, but not that people run that dungeon.

No one runs it because it's too long. People will happily zerg hunts or Alexander, despite the low payout, because you can do these runs fairly quickly and the tomes gained add up.

They also don't run it because it has not been put in a roulette. Why go out of your way to do it when there's no guarantee you'll get a fast queue because only newbies are running it? Add it to the level 60 dungeon roulette. There, people will run it, newbies get help, and we all get the payout. Plus then we'd have something to run other than Fractal or Neverreap for the 200th time.

So far, the Alexander runs have been a hit or miss, not really making it worth the hassle unless you have a PF party going. You'd need to run an Alexander floor 6 times (without New Player bonus, if you can even get that in Alexander) in order to get the 120 Law Tomes the Aetherochemical Research Facility dungeon gives. Let's say each Alexander floor takes an average of 6 minutes to complete, then you'd take around 36 minutes to complete. On top of that, you'd have 6 Percision items. The Aetherochemical Research Facility runs i did took 25 to 30 minutes to complete and each run so far had 1 new player in it.

So, personally, i'd rather run Aetherochemical Research Facility then any of the Alexander floors as their rewards are similar from my point of view. (^_^ )

Hitting 50/80 felt like such a huge accomplishment for me.

*UPDATE*

Progress is still slow. I'm not bored of the grind; my mind races to the point where I have too many other goals:

- Getting DRK to Lv60; she's Lv53 right now.
- Learning A2S as the driver (I'm NIN).
- Beast Tribes.
- Gearing BRD and WHM via Diadem (Eso is currently being used on PLD in preparation for DRK).

I have 20 Bones, 2 Ore, 2 Shells, 15 Seeds, 1 Kingscake. I have a bunch of Precision items to trade it, but I haven't been in Idyllshire unless I'm headed to Hinterlands for Savage learning (my home point is in Pillars. I stay there because Idyllshire is starting to take long to load, plus I like the music in Pillars). I'll get it finished eventually.

... I found a way to overcome the Poetics wall for the Shells: fish for first-time bonuses in MSQ Trials, like the Chrysalis or any 2.1 - 2.4 Primal fight. It's a little chancey, but you can get 90 - 110 Poetics for just about 5-10 minutes of work; rather efficient, if I do say so. At this pace I should be finished in just another day or two.

These relics are too easy to grind. Free handouts.

I have done my smn relic already so now I'm doing my second relic BUT I'm not farming or anything I'm just doing it casually. I'll buy the items if I have the tomes. So far I'm 16/80

I have 3 bones and 3 gems now.... am I doing it right? :<

73/80 have 8/16of the needed crafted items :V will be finished by friday

Taking it slow so like 24/80 and no HQ. Figure ill save it for last. Plus other games have my interest more at the moment
