the reason we complain is because we have the right to. they give us the option to. and they asked for our opinion.

mindless sheep like u willing to pay for crap in a box is reason this game was launched and still is in this phase. ur more worried bout why u cant die ur gear pink than u are about serious game flaws. the whole comunitee as a whole is blinded by fact they thought ffxi was best and only good mmo out there, hense all the fanboy responses go back to wow or rift.

i think every1 can see its on its way to becoming a good game. but its not a good game atm. i play this game for same reason i played the other 10 mmos i have played. for fun and for the enjoyment of a new game. but as of yesterday i ran out of fun stuff to do.

all i got left is to grind like a mindless sheep till i cap all my chars to 50. ive done this in multiple mmos its not fun anymore.

Apparently this needs to be written in bigger words since people love not reading. Sigh... Guess that's public school for ya. Never said I did not like the game, or said I would quit the game entirely. I didn't like the game until it started to work like a game. However, the game itself is still incomplete for it to be paid.

Second, it seems people keep assuming SE is poor. They're not or otherwise they wouldn't be making other games. You think 12 or 14 is not a lot? I pay a lot of subscriptions fees as is: Netflix, the internet speed xbox live, & other bills. Not to mention a costly lap top to play XIV on.

Lastly, I find the votes to be questionable. That's the way I see it compared to these hundreds of posts of people frowning upon the billing services. As one person said, 12-14$ would be better spent on food than playing the subscription fee plus not everyone plays daily. If the game was designed as a casual gamer, than a casual gamer should be paying with a price of a piece of mind.

It's kind of hard to define an MMO as finished. I mean I feel like with 1.20 it'll be where it should have been at launch easily. MMOs as a genre though never really finish, they're constantly adding and changing things.

I think the biggest difference is that some MMO's add and change things like new content and mechanics, while other MMO's add and change things like fundamental game systems that are usually decided in closed testing a year after launch.

I will pay if it speeds up the games progression to ver2.0 and beyond. They really need to hire more help because alot of people dont want to wait till 2013. PS3 is getting old and its a good idea to bring out ver2.0 sooner.

Alot of changes there planning are epic.

The game is still crashing on me too often to justify a monthly fee from me. I may come back for 2.0, but I won't pay before then. I'll wait and see. Already paid $85 for amazon CE that came a day later than JP/EU, and did not receive my rites of passage, while JP/EU got nice things.

I don't play this game much to justify paying to crash every hour or so. 1.19 isn't worth it still.

Well they do have plans for PS4 graphics. Might take awhile to adjust it for PS4. Who knows.

i like the 2.0 changes but this will not be the same game by then why should we pay for it.

I vote No, they should give those who started the game from it lunched credit. I like the game ,but nothing interest me yet.

I am staying, presuming the new billing method is implemented in time (they DID say by mid-fall, which means by mid Nov really).

I had a thought. How about let the 541 (so far..including me) paying subscribers migrate to the v2.0 test server and just shut down all the rest?

1 years service = $84,331.08. That should be enough to keep 1 server open, yes?

That 541 (now 542) is just a sample size. Here is my mathematics:

542 / (542+237) *100 = 70%

If 70% of players keep playing... no you don't want to keep just the one server going.

Yes but 70% of what? 10,000...15,000...let's be generous and say 50,000 peeps continue to pay & play...

10,000 x 70% = 7000...still a small population for one 24 hour world-wide server.

15,000 x 70% = 10,500...just about right for 1 server.

50,000 x 70% = 35,000...divide between 3 v2.0 test servers = 11666.666666666666666666666666667 per server..just about right.

The main reason I am suggesting this (besides wanting to test the new UI, Graphics, etc.) is because the individual servers will most certainly be even more empty than they currently are and if as some suggest we will essentially be paying beta testers from now on, we may as well be testing the latest beta..v.2.0

I am volunteering myself anyway. ;>)

The way I see it, We've had a seven and a half month credit already on our service fees.

I would maybe stick with it but with all the new MMOs on the horizon with lots of content to do, lots of new things to try, and filled with players to interact with there is no reason for people to come play FFXIV. If version 2.0 release was coming out by March 2012 then it would be another story. However this game has such a bad reputation to fight from and with a great deal of the player base gone due to fees I just don't see how it can survive. Right now around 70% have said they will stick with after fees. Unfortunately only 1/5th players(I think it's even less than that from some report a while ago) actually visit the official forums of a game on a daily basis and usually the people who are active, love their game more than the rest. So at 70% is a much more worrying number than one might think. So while there may still be a glimmer of hope for the game, I think SE and this player base need to be more realistic about the games future.

I am staying, I don't mind supporting the devs while they make the game we actually all wanted.

Ill be going to the new Starwars game by then. If this game started out as it is now back at launch i would probley still be playing this one.

Although I vote yea, it occurs to me that perhaps it is the playerbase and not the devs who should decide when the game is ready for paid subscriptions.

Despite all the hate theads I'm glad to see the majority of the community play because they enjoy the game and not just because it's free. I think this will make everyone working hard on ffxiv happy.

After thinking about this for awhile I think I will actually pay and play over the next year. The FFXIV team needs our support and I'm thankful they are not just shutting down the game until 2.0 is ready.

theres nothing wrong with SE making the game a normal pay to play mmo. its obvious they not going to free to play which is a great sign lol. trust me once they start adding patches that have new classes or new instances people will slowly start paying subscriptions. 2.0 release will be the make or break for mass subscriptions from ps3 and pc. you forum people have a year to post about your emotions. have fun with it. the path is already set in stone.
