Um.... yeah... you have issues with your service right there, at least within the scope of what this game demands. Until you get your latency in check (as in, consistently staying under at least 300ms all the time), you are going to have issues.

Raist, I would like to THANK YOU!!! for pushing me to get in touch with my Tier/level3 techs at TWC because I had to push them hard to get me on the phone with level3 and after 6 weeks of hell in getting with lag spiking and D/C'ing every 5-10 mins. I'm now finally able to play XIV as I was previously before all the junk happened. I even made a new friend because they also play XIV then call ended with me getting personal info. in case I have future problems.
P.S. RAIST isnt BS'ing in what he is talking about it, he is very real and true .. Listen to him in what he is telling you.. pushing for your higher tier techs will in fact help you get the problem fixed.. dont be afraid of these guys they're human and the customer once they leave work at the end of day.
Take care everyone and hope I never have to post on here again.
Yo Raist, would you have any tips for getting the info I need when contacting tier3 when I'm running the game off my PS4? I'm not sure how I'd be able to run a trace since I'm not running it off the PC. Any help you can offer would be appreciated.
Some info:
Cisco Linksys router
Cable Modem
75 MB up, 15 down (give or take)
Ping: 43ms, 19ms jitter, 0% packet loss (ping test)
and my ISP is Comporium Communication
And when I specifically ping the NA datacenter I get:
C:\Users\Ethan>ping 199.91.189.74
Pinging 199.91.189.74 with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 199.91.189.74: bytes=32 time=44ms TTL=50
Reply from 199.91.189.74: bytes=32 time=38ms TTL=50
Reply from 199.91.189.74: bytes=32 time=51ms TTL=50
Reply from 199.91.189.74: bytes=32 time=41ms TTL=50
Ping statistics for 199.91.189.74:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 38ms, Maximum = 51ms, Average = 43ms
And this was the result from the trace I did. (Once again playing on PS4 so I'm not sure if it makes a difference.) Note: I did this trace while I was just standing around with no lag.

And i did this one as I was locking up and subsequently got a 90k. I was in the middle of a lvl A hunt when this happened. Also began to try and log back in at around hop 16 and was getting hit with error 2002s.

So playing for 4 months no problems with the same isp was a fluke is what you are saying though their service hasn't changed one bit.
Today, massive Lags and DC.

Completely Unplayable... Game crashes every ten minutes...
You need to call your ISP and ask for the tier3/L3 techs.. from what I see you have limited bandwith lock. Which is restricting you to only checking emails, watching youtube videos, etc. If you cant get a higher lvl tech get a supervisor. Explain the problem, say what you want and ask to have the limits placed on your acct removed and your modem reset to factory settings in case more junk firmware was install for your type of modem. You need to keep pushing them because they are the ones responsible for your core issues.
OK, it is too much, I can play in the morning, but I completely can't play in the evening. Today I'm getting 90k every time I try to log in.. It all starts with "receiving 0 packets".. Damn, I've tried WoW, GW2, Aion, SWTOR, The Secret World, Diablo III, and none of them lags or freezes. The gameplay is smooth and perfect. I wonder why blame my ISP (I contacted them - all OK) if I can play in the morning, and can't in the evening? Problem is obviously not on my side. I'd rather blame SE, cause they do not answer my tickets, and their best isea was that my PC was likely to be shit. If I won't be able to find a solution in the nearest future - bye bye FFXIV!
Some update info. I resetted my router, which haven't helped a bit ofc, and began to wonder what could I do to take an upper hand on those lags and 90k. And here's what I've done - I set up DNS as following:
- preferable - as my router IP
- secondary - 8.8.8.8 (which is known to be Google's DNS-server IP)
After that I ran some dungeons, stood some time in Revenant's Tall, and so far it seems to be OK. Routing problem after all? Almighty Google saves the day?
I hope this will help me and many others who battle their ways through the fields of lags.
I'm getting 2002ed error after the repeated 90ks and my clients crashing with each 2002 >_>; WTF was trying to do shiva ex
And I was completely wrong. Got home from work, and "R0" (receiving 0 packets) got back too. Meaning freezes are back.. Ran expert random, and that was a hell, like watching a movie with random rewind speed.
There is a way to detect if u r in trouble - characters in towns will be moving by short dashes, not smoothly.
So now I really do not know what to do, and am ready to quit Final Fantasy.
P.S. 90000 is back also
I do love when I get the it's your internet problem not an SE thing. I guess we all have the same bad Internet and router problem, although every other online game works fine for us...
It is an internet problem: it is a problem with congestion on the path the internet takes to get to SE's server. Doing a tracert or a pathping will show exactly where the issue is-- in my case, it's always once my route hits a Level3 node. I just ran a tracert right now, in fact:
As you can see, I have extremely low latency on my ISP's nodes up until that hop to Level3. If I use a VPN, which puts my connection to the server on a different path that goes around those hops, I have no latency whatsoever.Quote:

gee what a surprise its Level3
Kinda glad that others are getting this issue. Whenever I ask people in game I never get answer (I guess there all to busy getting disconnected lol).
Anyway is here any tech support to this whatsoever? Its pretty bad on their part, whats the point on posting on here? Any of you have any advice, I will be honest and say I didnt read all 30+ pages of the same issue and ranting (now me included).
Also, not sure if this is relevant but I live in England and use a "NA" server for Excalibur but when I tried another character on and "EU" server the problem wasn't so bad. The packet data was far better.
Anyone else noticed or tried this? Anyone with any ideas with this in mind?
Same issue here.
