Teaser of the next FFXIV Race[Spoilers]

it was said already that the horn was moving in the video, well maybe it was an error from them, but i doubt they plan to add an "ugly" race... since they know that only a small part of the community will want to play one. you can have an ugly race if she is cool...

I do not read those random bits at the base of her tail as "spines" at all and as I have already said I feel that the tail's a huge red herring given that the huge things on her head clearly have animation on them making them "something other than horns".
Would be great to dial back the condescending tune. ;D

It's not really her tail at all. She just wears it to throw people off her true form.

Yeah, the universes sure are seperate! Well, except for all the Humes, Elvaan, Taru-Taru, Galka, and Mithra running around in FFXIV. Oh, sorry - Hyur, Elezen, Lalafel, Roegadyn, and Miqo'te. Surely there's no room for Vierra.

That said, I don't think the new race is Vierra. I just think this is a silly argument to use as a case against it. XD

SE releases the expansion and has 3 new races--Bunny people, Lizard people and Rat people!

Maybe....there will be SOME rejoicing if those actually were introduced, but more likely than not there will be NO rejoicing, cause people will still be loudly vocal about other things...like that there is no Blue Mage, Red Mage, Gunner Class, Puppeteer class etc etc in the game. =P

I, personally, am waiting to see most of those plus Samurai and Dark Knight come along.

And Ranger. I want my damn Ranger. GET THIS DAMN HARP OFF OF ME! /rant.

Ugh.. so tired of these threads... SE just needs to release what Yugiri looks like without the mask on before these speculation threads drive me insane. =_=

It is not a bunny if you look at her, her tail is scaly. More than likely she is a Dragon. ^_^.

I was thinking 2.5, but the 2.4 release should line up around the fan festivals which would make it the perfect time to reveal a new race for the expansion pack.

I guess it's an issue of how much story they would like to cover in 2.4. Yugiri was noticeably absent in 2.3 and I'm not sure how they can shoehorn her into the story to have an unmasking take place now that we are going to Coerthas to deal with Shiva. The harboring of a Dragonkin race could be an impetus for Ishgard to go after Eorzea and set up the final showdown between the Ascians/Ishgard and the Crystal Braves.

She has a lizard tail.

Fox girls need to happen. It fits the Japanese-style nation too.

Imagine Viera having a house in The Mist. :D (for those familiar with the race).

In all seriousness. I can't wait to hear about this new race. Would love to see new jobs related to the new race too.

Not sure why the Viera thing is still going around. Not going to be Viera. Yoshi has had a lot of comments about the subject, so you should go back and find them. Some of the most notable statements; just because a race won the poll doesn't mean they'll add it, Yoshi wanted something different and unique as he was really stuck with what FFXIV was originally made to be (prettier FFXI), The Miqote race is to much like Viera which makes it unlikely they would spend the time to make a new race that is just Miqote with different ears.

even if i have the same thought, however, no viera and miqote have nothing in comons exept be a hybrid human-beast.

the Viera are calm, slow, tall, sexy.
the miqote are more excited, fast, petite and athletic.

about the character and the body they are actually the opposite.

I imagine vieras to be ridiculously tall - like Elezen tall, maybe taller.

I with the viera would be added, but you can tell just by looking at Yugiri that she's not one - unless they've redesigned them to have LONG TAILS. ¬_¬;

That would be the Succubus race, you know what...that wouldn't be such a bad idea...who wouldn't want to float 2 feet off the ground while tanking, dpsing, or healing...and look sexy doing it. =P

Why do people want Viera so badly? The only appeal I can come up with is sexing up a bunny girl.

You pretty much answered your own question, well i'm sure some have nostalgia from other FF games that included that race and would love nothing more than to play it, i'm neither or those sadly...the race just doesn't appeal to me...but that's just me personally.

I hope a Dev sees this. Great idea. It caters to those who want the old FF race (Viera) and the new one that Yugiri is.
