There are many video games companies that have employees working long shifts or odd hours. In fact I would say it is the norm. Look up "EA wife" for instance on the internet. I find it odd that a company would be against having employees working late or staggering shifts for a (hopefully) rare down time for this kind of maintenance.
OP, I understand your frustration. But think of it this way. Defiance is an American MMO, so they patch mostly during off prime times for America. Final fantasy is Japanese. So they do it that way. Just chill out and play something else for a night. I personally will he playing a amazing hd remake, of a wonderful American/Japanese crossover game called kingdom hearts 1.5 hd :)
THE SKY IS FALLING!!!!! I WON'T BE ABLE TO PLAY A GAME FOR A WHOLE DAY!!!!!! I think I'm gonna go rock back and forth in the corner to console myself...
It's a lot easier to roll out an update to all the servers at the same time than to do them at seperate times. It also eliminates the possibiolity of some people being able to discover something or beat something long before other people even have a chance to log on to the game.Quote:
Please, people who don't really know what they're saying should stop.
There always has a way to avoid each region prime time. They even have NA/EU/JP servers. Tell me why can't they separately do a maintenance?
What ever the reason is, customer has a right to complain about this. Because this is their job to handle, not us.
I had worked in business like this before, I know what the standard is. If you don't know then you're the one who should "just stop".
The ignorance is strong in this one.
*Slowclaps* Bravo! Bravo! If your grammar is any indication of your intelligence, I'm sorry for whoever employs you. It also says worlds about our American Educational System.
Though, I must point out Blizzard closes ALL their servers down whenever they do any maintenance. And as others have pointed out before me, it would cost way too much to perform multiple maintenances staggered at different times. APPARENTLY, you haven't really worked for an MMO company. If you did it one of "those" F2P ones and I can see why they went that route.
I've met people like you, haughty "know-it-alls", that once their faulty knowledge is questioned they start throwing tantrums like the spoiled child they are.
