If you think that's all they can do to change the mechanics, you're a moron. I'm not suggesting they do away with the speed run mechanic without putting something else in it's place. What I'm suggesting is that the requirement of the speed run as the only way to get a relic, needs to change. For example, a dungeon could have multiple paths, only one of which could be completed in a single run. In that case, the requirement for the relic could be that the player must complete all possible paths. But that's just one route they could take, I'm sure SE could come up with something better than that. Perhaps they could leave the speed run as an optional path for the relic, bypassing the longer requirement to complete all possible paths.
