Yeah so weird the thing that gets linked when you navigate the in game menus to leave a suggestion for how to improve the game leads you here all so the devs can ignore it and pander to JP forum posts that have 2 upvotes

The forums are always going to trend negative but that’s massively exasperated by the fact that the community team assigned to EN would rather sleep on the job then send our feedback to the devs; and we have evidence they don’t send our feedback because we have multiple instances of yoshi p going “wait that’s actually a problem you guys have” when presented with feedback that would take 2 seconds to find on the EN forums. JP even acknowledges this given the avatar refresh update where JP players broke their usually decorum of “don’t use google translate to post on the JP forums, post on the EN forums” to let us dump our complaints on the JP forums because even they know the devs only care about their forums and wanted to make their arguments stronger

Even when there were a lot of complaints in the forums, there was always kind and thoughtful questions during the Live Letter that came from specialized forums here on the boards.

I dislike everyone jumping on the "forums are negativity" bandwagon. Yes the General has always been like this, but there was helpful and meaningful questions that came from the forums that were answered in the Live Letters.

The real problem isn't the players, the real problem is the moderators. Suddenly we've forgotten what service they offered us and our direct communication to the development team. That's gone. That's the problem.

So why did I hate the MSQ if I've been listening to it in Japanese since the tail end of 6.4 and love plenty of dumb schlock where hope wins through miracles? Wuk's EN VA wouldn't have affected my experience, it should have been the kind of story that I'm fine with or like, and I even like Mesoamerican fantasy settings.

The only feedback on the forums that lines up with the changes they made was a post on the JP forums with like 2 upvotes, it’s just we found out after the fact they were always planning on changing it

There was a window where everyone was like “yo square why did you decide to do that” and people found that post and since it was so similar it lined up. Square just decided to tell us later that our feedback was pointless and they were going to change it regardless of what we do

Somehow comically both statements are actually true and it just makes square look even worse

It's really not that bad. Sure the story is cheeks. To me that's whatever as I skip story. The jobs are as boring as they've been since Shb. No one complains about EW being bad, despite having the same issues.

DT has good Trial bosses, some of the better ones in recent years for sure. The 24man is far superior to that muck Nier and Gods of the Realm crap we had the last 2 expansions. The NM/Savage raids were kinda cheeks this time around, but people like that furry stuff for some reason, but overall the mechanics were pretty good. So battle content is pretty much the same or better.

We have a Deep dungeon, a Relic exploration zone, an Ultimate, Hildibrand, Cosmic Exploration and Variant dungeons. We're already getting more content than EW. EW Post launch was absolutely awful in comparison.

We also finally got and are getting more QoL changes that are long overdue.

There is absolutely no universe you can say DT was that bad unless you are strictly talking about story or you are blatently ignoring the games issues we've had for years now.

Quantity of content is a near meaningless measure when the quality (whether by itself or by virtue of being dragged down by the jobs) is bad and really only useful for comparison to EW which had neither quality nor quantity.

DT’s volume of content simply isn’t helping it at all because it all just dies basically on launch, DT is just the worst victim of this because it can’t paper over the problem with a good story. DT is bad because it cannot support its content and saying it has more content with no support than EW is a basically empty statement

If they want people’s perception of DT to turn around they need to actually fundamentally redesign content and how the game interacts with it. Reading off a list of content and going “see more than other expansions” doesn’t change how bad DT is

At the time, it was needed. Healers were being asked to heal, do max dps and complex raid mechanics. That’s three jobs while everybody else had two. Now in the current expansion, the need to heal is a laughable joke so the lack of dps options is now more glaring. I’d rather be tasks with more healing or support roles such as buffing than do more dps.

The developers do not change things in the game because of a random forum post with two upvotes. They change things because they want to and may use "feedback" as justification.

Sometimes, they do implement things people want (such as the glamour unlock) and sometimes they implement things that people haven't provided a lot of feedback on (sudden Kaiten removal mid expansion). The changes to DRG and BLM in the current expansion, for instance, were met with a lot of criticism, especially considering how many posts there were asking against simplification... and they went through with them anyway.

Sometimes the feedback they use may not even be from the players but their internal testers, QA or the developers themselves. We can never truly know but I highly doubt it's a random post with two likes, especially when JP players in the forums tend to provide feedback in huge megathreads with plenty of posts and varying amounts of likes.
